Uniqlo is finally returning to downtown San Francisco. The Japanese clothing company was one of many long-tenured major retailers to flee the Union Square area during the pandemic. But as the retail market continues to improve in the city, along with falling office vacancies, falling crime, falling homeless encampments, rising population, rising tourism, a ton of new jobs, and an improving housing market, conditions are ripe for a return for Uniqlo to San Francisco. And according to a press release from October 6th, they're taking over the former Old Navy space on Market Street. Timeline for real, reopening hasn't been confirmed, and how much of that Old Navy space they're taking up hasn't been confirmed either. But it's great to see their commitment to return to the city. Definitely miss having them here. Share this with someone you know loves Uniqlo and follow me for more Bay Area real estate.
