The team behind one of the best restaurants in the world just opened a new wine bar in SoMa, and it is definitely worth checking out. A few doors down from the 2 Michelin-starred restaurant Saison, which routinely appears on the list of top 50 restaurants around the world, the team for that restaurant just opened a wine bar and private wine cellar on Townsend Street. Yes, there are some absurdly expensive wines on there, but there are also a lot of very approachable wines. They start at $12 a glass. You also get a complimentary glass of sparkling rosé when you walk in, which is a great touch. And it's not just wine. There's awesome food there, things like truffle fries, caviar parfaits, cheeses, charcuteries, you name it. There are plans to hold pop-up events at the space like educational wine tastings. And immediately next door is a private members-only club with personal wine storage. I've been to the wine bar twice already and tried different things both times. Definitely worth checking out. Let me know in the comments if you've been.
