The highest residence west of Chicago is right here in San Francisco, and it just hit the market for $35 million. The grand penthouse at 181 Fremont takes up the entire top floor of the J. Paul developed mixed-use building over 700 feet in the air with the most jaw-dropping views money can buy in the city. All the way from the Pacific Ocean and Golden Gate Bridge across the city to the Bay Bridge and beyond, basically every major monument in San Francisco is visible from this penthouse. Heller Manus Architects designed the nearly 7,000 square foot space to perfectly take advantage of those views with 10.5-foot ceilings and wall-to-wall floor-to-ceiling glass, and interior design firm Mass Beverly furnished the property with absolutely absurd materials and appliances. Bottega Veneta leather, Gaggenau and Sub-Zero appliances, and a ton of Arabescata Corchia marble in the bathrooms. The property has private elevator access, radiant heating, 2 en suites in the primary bedroom, a wine cellar, and an unheard of 4 garage spaces, plus a fully furnished separate 1-bedroom guest suite. The unit publicly hit the market in March for $35 million after previously listing privately for $46 million, and HOAs for the unit are $6,679. $1,000 a month.
