A group of residents is working to turn an empty parking lot into a city-operated park in one of the city's most densely populated areas. The parking lot at 50 Cosmo Place in the Lower Nob Hill neighborhood has been on the market for several months and is currently zoned for heavy residential or commercial use. But instead of using it in that manner, a local neighborhood alliance group is trying to get the city to buy the empty lot and turn it into a park. Apparently, the city is actually taking the request seriously and is digging into diligence on the site, including environmental studies to see what's feasible. Now, obviously, Honestly, the city needs more housing, but that area is uniquely wanting for more park space. There aren't really any parks in that specific part of town, so it could be good for the residents to have some open space nearby. But let me know what you think should be there in the comments.
