An interactive arcade concept is opening a brand new location in San Francisco. Activate Games is taking over an 8,000 square foot space at Stonestown Galleria with plans to open by June of this year. What makes this different than other arcades is the principal focus of offerings there is on physical activity. Things like obstacle courses, dodging moving targets, climbing walls, and a floor is lava type experience. Activate is the latest in a string of arcade type experiences opening at the mall, including a Round One with a 50,000 square foot location at the old basement for Nordstrom, as well as an immersive Gamebox Ultimate Reality Outpost and an escape room opening in the past years. Looks like a pretty fun concept, and I'm excited about the competitive aspect that it seems to be bringing that you don't often get in arcades. So I'm looking forward to checking it out.
