Paris just got a major design upgrade with the most luxurious hospitality space to open there this year. The building where RH's new gallery on the Champs-Élysées sits was originally built in 1983 by a French aviation engineer and was once the site of a cinema and Abercrombie Fitch flagship before undergoing a 6-year remodel, transforming the building into one of the most jaw-dropping shopping and dining spaces you will ever experience. The brand new RH is set behind gilded iron gates down a hedge-lined, impeccably lit limestone path behind 19-foot bronze doors that lead into the 7-story gallery anchored by a disappearing glass elevator designed by Foster and Partners that empties onto a rooftop terrace restaurant with Eiffel Tower views. The gallery also features a glass-enclosed restaurant as well as the World of RH bar and lounge highlighting RH's spaces worldwide, plus their two jets and yacht which are available to charter. The Cortemadera-based company has sprung onto the international scene in recent years with a flagship at a 400-year-old estate in the Cotswolds, new galleries in Munich, Düsseldorf, Madrid, Brussels, more planned in London and Milan next year, and of course of course, more across the US. In a world where people can buy things without leaving their couch, RH's spaces continue to change what the retail experience is all about, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of their spaces next year. Share this with someone you know would love the space, and let me know what you think in the comments.
