A monster new development has just been approved for mid-market that will become the third tallest building in San Francisco. Crescent Heights has been pursuing a residential development at 10 South Van Ness since at least 2015, and after multiple iterations of the project and years of stalled development because of changing market conditions since the onset of the pandemic, the development has just been approved. The new 67-story skyscraper would be about 820 feet tall and see about 1.6 million square feet of new housing. The residences would consist of 363 apartments on the lower portion of the structure, 89 of which would be dedicated to affordable housing and 656 condo units on the upper portion of the structure. Arcadis is helming the design and construction is supposed to start on the skyscraper in 2027. It's going to be an incredible addition to the skyline and I'm looking forward to seeing it completed. Developer also bought a nearby parcel and donated it to the city for 100% affordable housing. So a lot of great things happening here.
