San Francisco's mayor-elect Daniel Lorie just created a brand new position to help address the city's housing shortage and economic troubles, and he's made a pretty interesting appointment to lead the charge. It's former Twitter CFO Ned Siegel, who's been appointed the chief of housing and economic development, one of 4 new positions created by Daniel Lorie as part of his mayoral office reorganization. And Siegel faces a huge task given the obstacles the city faces to build 82,000 new units by 2031. He'll be overseeing some really important departments like the Department of Building Inspection and Planning, as well as other things like SFO, the arts, and libraries. I'm really excited and hopeful for all the changes that we're going to see in the new administration and what it does to San Francisco. I'll definitely be keeping you updated of all the housing-related policies, so follow me for more updates.
