Austin Klar, a Bay Area resident for over ten years, debunks five myths about San Francisco: that it's dead, has terrible weather, is unwalkable due to hills, is only for the wealthy, and requires a car. He uses data and his experience across the city's nearly 90 neighborhoods to show why these narratives are wrong.

If you live in SF, I wanna know if this has happened to you before. When you're in another city meeting people for the first time, they find out you live in San Francisco and they get this like genuine look of like shock and concern on their face. Like they're legitimately scared for your wellbeing. Obviously they've been watching way too much news spewing complete BS about San Francisco's apocalypse. And when I'm helping people move to SF from all over the country, I really don't actually have to do or say anything to dispel that myth. It's clear from just walking around for a few minutes that the vast majority of the nearly 90 different neighborhoods in the city are nothing like the Tenderloin, and the media is just completely full of it. And conversations like that always get me thinking. There are so many other myths that people spew about San Francisco. I hear them all the time from foreigners and locals that are totally wrong. The city is dead and isn't coming back. The weather sucks. It's not walkable because of the hills. SF is only for the wealthy. You don't need a car if you live here. So I made a YouTube video breaking down each of these myths, proving them untrue based on actual data and my experience living here for over a decade. Comment the word video and I'll send you a link, and follow me for more Bay Area real estate.
