I bet you never thought a place like this would move into Union Square. Amazon's robotaxi company Zoox is working on opening a customer lounge on Sutter Street in Union Square. According to permit applications they recently filed with the city, the lounge would comprise 3 stories and about 2,000-square-foot space and basically serve as a hangout spot for customers to enjoy free food, free drinks, and charge their devices while they wait on their rides. And there are even plans in the works to collaborate with nearby hotels and restaurants in the space. Basically a way to boost public awareness of their brand and offer something that their main riders Waymo doesn't offer. Let me know what you think of these plans in the comments and follow me for more San Francisco news.
