Last week we let go of an employee that had been with us almost longer than any other employee. Is anybody feeling fear? And specifically asking themselves the question, am I next? The first question people are going to ask is, how does this affect me? And so I told everyone, first of all, it's okay to be afraid. It's okay to have this question. And if you're being good at managing your employees, you should be able to answer that question with, "Because we have regular reviews of your performance, you will know when you're doing a good job or a bad job. And actually, if you want to know right now, you can ask as soon as this meeting is over." And if you'd like to know what other emotions came up and how I dealt with them and why it's important to talk about emotions when you let someone go or any other time in business, then click on the link below for the full video.
