#1 PODCAST! Crazy week!

Brendon TEST Burchard's podcast High Performance Habits hit number one on iTunes across all categories. He shares behind-the-scenes details about his live webcasts, coaching events, and monthly membership business model while discussing the physical demands of running these events.
Because, listen, sometimes great personal growth starts from saying, I can't do it myself. Sometimes great personal growth comes from saying I can't do it myself. Oh, my gosh. Okay, so it's been a crazy, crazy week. I'm sorry, I'm a couple days late with the vlog here. Just a total bananas week. I launched a new podcast, which I'll give you a little behind the scenes scenes tour of that. My new podcast is called High Performance Habits, and I launched it and it went to number one in the business category and number one across all categories on itunes this last weekend. And it made a really busy week. So I was a little late on shooting vlog, but I thought I'd show you some behind the scenes of me this week shooting some live webcasts that I did. So you can see the setup that we do when we go live monthly. I was also on the road to an event, so I'll do some behind the scenes of that event, and then I'll also show you some behind the scenes of what happened with the crazy podcast launch. I hope you'll enjoy it. Okay, so here's how bad I suck at vlogging. I haven't even thought about vlogging what is like one of the biggest days in my career. Today. I'm actually about to do a live cast for some clients. But that's not what I want to show you is a live cast setup. What I want to show you is this thing. Hold on. Is that today we achieved something really remarkable, a crazy milestone. And that is we became the number one podcast in the world on itunes, Apple podcasts. And I don't mean just in my category. I mean across all categories. So let me show you this because I'm stupid for not vlogging this earlier. It's been all over my Instagram and Facebook. But I want to show you guys. Check this out. So this is the top podcasts in the world right now. This is my book right here, High Performance Habits. That's my new podcast, High Performance Habits. But what I did is I released season one as the entire audiobook of the book. And then if you come over here and you switch this to business, all the business things line up and there we are too. This is our actual sort of what will be. And usually it's a business podcast, but I share that with you because here's what's crazy about the whole thing, is that this weekend we went to launch it, and I knew it would do pretty good, but it was really your all support on Instagram and Facebook. If you've been on my email new subscriber list for a while, thank you so much because you guys really move the needle so significantly. Whoa. See, I'm not good at vlogging it, but listen, I just want to give you guys a big shout of appreciation and tell you a little bit about that story, but basically it was just constantly segmenting my email list. It was going live, it was lots of Instagram and Facebook and it was years of buildup for this high performance topic. You know, last year Amazon put this as the number two book of all business books and leadership books with high performance. And then this year to launch it as the number one podcast in the world is huge. And it's really. People always give me so much credit for it, but I just want to give you guys a shout out. It's because of you. I mean, you don't achieve results like that time and time again without unbelievable support from your viewers. So thanks, guys. You been all day. Hey, y'. All. So you've been asking for some behind the scenes of my events and this one's a tough one. This is called certified high performance coaching. It is brutal. It is five days of training, certification, usually a couple hundred people, and it's literally five days of me on stage. You hear my voice right now, it's because I'm on day four right now. I can barely breathe. So it's literally me from morning till night. I'm the only trainer. So I think this makes it the longest single trainer event in, I think the world in terms of it's me literally from 9am till 8 or 9pm most nights. And I don't sit, I don't rest, I just go. And we've been here five days. Role play, role play, role play, role play. Learning to change and transform people's lives. And it's a huge passion of mine. It's just physically demanding. Also in this new hotel, we haven't figured out the air conditioner. It's been a little hot in the room for me. Usually it's pretty cold in the hotel rooms. It's been super hot. So I've just been drenched on average. We found out I'm probably covering walking every single day based on the Fitbit. What, like 10 miles? 10 miles minimum and burning 6,000 calories or something. So it's an unbelievable amount of expenditure up on stage. And again, it's, you know, 10, 12 hours a day, non stop. Plus this one has a ton of curriculum. This is my backstage area. If you Guys want to see. So usually I got a bunch of tons of hydration, tons of liquids, because you have to have that to get through it. But this session, this event in particular, is really hard because there's just a ton of curriculum. So what I'm teaching people through when they get certified, they're going through a massive amount of curriculum. I mean, they're literally learning 15, 20 pages of curriculum and conversation. And we're doing role plays. We did on average 4 major session role plays per morning and per night. So these guys are elite level. These are the highest level coaches in the world. All training to become certified high performance coaches. There's only a couple hundred in the entire world and it's intense. So many of you guys know that I do a ice bath at the end of each event every single night because it knocks out all the inflammation in my feet and my legs after being on stage for, you know, 8, 9, 10, 12, 16 hours a day, usually on my feet the entire time teaching or training or motivating or jumping or clapping or, you know, leading, like a concert style environment, personal development event. Anyway, so cool. We're at a new hotel right now doing this event that we have not been to before. And it's been interesting, let's say. But I will say about this place, they have the greatest delivery of ice that we have ever seen ever. Because I always ask for these buckets of ice. These big buckets, ice show up, you know, that are pretty substantial, like 5 gallon or 10 gallon buckets that I use because I usually, you know, fill up the water and then put enough ice in so that when I get in the bath that there's like this much ice on top of me. But look at what they delivered. Look at this thing. It has its own shovel. Is this the greatest ice of all time? I'm gonna take this. Look at this. Is it going, oh, yeah, I love it. I've never got my shovel ever before. Have I ever been anywhere where I got to show people take their eyes off their life. They start the goal, they do the first post, they do the first video, and then it didn't get any views. They're embarrassed, so they stop and they just don't pay attention to it anymore. Now they're paying attention to 50 other things, right? And because their attention goes away, so does their effort. So they put out the first videos. They don't keep at it. And that's where the motivation wanes. And there's a misconception about all this. People are scared. They think If I keep focusing on it, I'm gonna keep being disappointed. No, if you don't focus on it, you ensure disappointment. We get things backwards in our mind. Well, if I keep focusing on what I want and I don't get it, I'm going to always feel guilty, shame, embarrassed, upset. It's like. No, no, no, no, no, no. You're always going to feel repressed if you don't focus on it. That's what you're going to feel. You're going to feel repressed, pulled down. If you don't focus on it, the focus doesn't give you the fear. That's. We just turned it on a mind because sometimes you got hurt before someone made fun of you, something fell on its face. You didn't do so good, they judged it. And then. So you stopped paying attention to that dream. Maybe you used to read lots of books about that topic. And then someone said, well, that's a stupid idea. And you never picked up a book again. That's where the motivation was lost. You turned your attention off the desire. Right. You talk to the world's highest performers. And what's evident about them, what's absolutely evident about them is most of them had an obsession, an obsession. And the obsession didn't start as an obsession. They didn't have, like, this awakening. They woke up. What? Tell me about all those shoes. Oh, gosh. Well, so I. From here and at this particular hotel, over five days, I'll do two and a half miles of walking in concrete on the back hallways, going up to my room. I've calculated about two and a half miles, which doesn't sound like a big deal, but when you have like wood bottom shoes, you know, and dress shoes. So I wear these up to my room and then I put on the. The fancier stuff for the stage. And that's the only way I can do it. And what I do is I just leave all my shoes, as you can see, just down here. And I have it set up down here for, you know, clothing, if I need. We are entering new things. It's almost like at every new level, we need to go back to the basics, the entry level. Conversations in our head. Do I believe in myself? Am I willing to get some help? Am I willing to see beyond my faults, to serve at another level. It's almost every level. You gotta have that new entry level conversation with yourself. I'm vlogging. So hard to learn. So I just finished a live broadcast where I taught how I launched my podcast, High Performance Habits. Took it the number one spot in business and the number one spot across all podcasts on itunes. I just explained that entire thing in a live cast to some of my monthly members. If you didn't know. Part of my speaking career is I go live every single month and I train on a topic and people say, brendan, you know, you don't have a, you know, sponsor, or you don't have, you know, you're not using like, you know, Patreon or something else. And you don't allow ads here on your YouTube channel. How do you make money? Well, I make money by I have monthly members who subscribe for special training from me. And I chose to do that because I was like, you know what, they're always gonna be changing algorithms and, and, you know, someday YouTube might not like something I do. I don't want to build my business model on ads with anybody because maybe sponsors jump one day or some algorithm changes. So what I did do is I decided to build a business model where people actually subscribe for continued monthly training from me. And I have one for marketing, and I have one for high performance. So that's basically how I earn a revenue doing what I'm doing. But I know that one of you guys were asking what it looks like when I do these live casts, so I thought I'd give you a little tour here. It's pretty basic. You know, I've got my flip chart over here, and then I've got these big, you know, soft boxes, and they're right in my face, man. That's how I mean, they're literally. Look, I could see that. And then look, I'm standing right here, so they're really right there. That's how you have to light yourself. I mean, super bright. And I'll give you a little tour here. You see that? There's one, there's two. And then here's the camera right there. We use a Canon C100 for most of our live casts and what we do with just a Sennheiser pack on top. I'll link below to the gear we use. We use a second camera right here to capture the close ups on all of our flip charts. And that's basically it. So you've got one camera, two camera, four soft boxes really focused on my face, and then a flip chart. And a huge part of our monthly recurring revenue happens from this. It's how I'm able to do my vlog, my blog, my YouTube and everything else ad free. And with that, that's basically the crazy week that I had. So I just want to thank you all for your awesome support this week in helping high performance habits the podcast reach number one. And listen, I got lots of questions. Do you think it's going to be number one forever? Is it awesome? I promise by the time you're watching this today that no, it's not number one anymore. We're competing with shows that literally have hundreds of thousands of dollars in sponsorships and ads or millions of subscribers of other people. The goal wasn't about being number one. The goal was to launch something that added distinct and new value out in the marketplace and see what it does. And I really believe while we launch really big, it will obviously fall to the wayside of the big budgets, but, you know, with hundreds of thousands of downloads, it will keep people who are really interested staying. And over a period of the next couple months, I think it'll be big. I'm hoping that this vlog here too, that you're watching gets big. And that's only gonna happen if you subscribe. I really love doing this vlog for you guys. It's new and experimental. I know I suck at it, but I'm going to try to get better. So please subscribe. If you'd like to follow me on my journey of trying to do a good job on all the stages I'm blessed to speak on, whether it's YouTube, podcasts, you know, large stages, small stages, big seminars, little seminars, my podcast, I'm just trying to share some good messages about personal and professional development out there and tell people that you can. If you really decide to deepen your motivation and practice high performance habits, you can achieve your dreams and you can support other people who you really believe in. Which I'm hoping to do for so many of you. So please cheer me on, please subscribe, hit the thumbs up, tell people about this vlog, and I will see you next week. Until then, as always, make sure you go out every single day, live fully, love openly, and make your difference today. Thanks, everybody. To believe in yourself, your brain also needs consistency. It can't do this once in a while, game doesn't like it. It's just like trust in a relationship, right? Break trust. Have trust. Break trust. Have trust. The relationship doesn't like it. Your mind doesn't like it either. Your mind trusts you based on integrity. That integrity is ultimately consistent action, right? So we've got to have consistent action.
