Foreign hey, my friends, it's Brendon Burchard. And welcome to a special episode of the Brendon show, where we jump into some of the best of my motivational quotes. Hey, my friends, it's Brendan. And welcome to your weekly roundup of my 60 second motivational quotes that I post out on Instagram and other social media. We thought we'd compile them here for you to give you some motivational fire for your week. So let's go. Look. If something brings you joy and meaning, don't give up just because things get difficult or complicated. I mean, you should actually anticipate that. That the more you follow your own path, the more that you activate your own passions, the more that you chase the dreams that are meaningful to you, the more difficult it will become. Why? Because more people, as you succeed, because you will succeed doing those very things, chasing your passions and your own dreams, living your own life, more people will come in and start to say, hey, I need some help over here, or, why don't you do this thing over here? Or let me pay you to be over there? And all of a sudden it's a little more difficult. You got more team now, more support now, more audience now because you're succeeding, chasing your dreams and passions. It's more complicated now because now there's more relationships, there's more money, there's more finances, more obligations. But you're chasing your dreams. Remember that. It brings you joy. So stay with it. When things are falling apart, stay true to the best of who you are, or it will just take longer for things to fall back into place, my friend. You know, often when things are falling apart, we start compromising in our integrity. We're less honest. We feel backed up against a wall, so we start creating fibs. Or we tell blatant lies to protect ourselves, or we compromise on our values and do something that wasn't right for us. And all the while, we know it's not right for us, but we think, well, just for now, I'll compromise. Just for now, I won't be who I really am just to get through this time. But the issue is, when you're not being who you really are and the best of who you are, you don't attract the best of the world. And over a period of time, that compromise leads to a lot of pain. And it takes longer for things to fall back into place. So stay true, my friend. You might not be able to change them, but you can always change your reaction to them. Your energy is your choice. And no doubt. When I post this and share this, inevitably people say, oh, you don't understand, this person is super negative. Or this person always triggers me to get so angry, or this person makes me feel this way. And at some point maturity says we own our energy. We must be responsible for the energy in which we are projecting into the world. And if we don't believe that, then why would we expect anyone else to change their own energy toward us? We must be responsible for our own energy, our own reactions, how we receive, interpret and define meaning of this world. It doesn't make it easy, but we can't always change people. They might not shift. So we have to shift how we deal with them, how we respond to them, how much they're in our life, how much we take in their energy and what kind of energy we we put out into the world. That is self reliance. People got it so wrong in their heads. Listen to take care of yourself as you are. Striving isn't a luxury, it is a necessity for long term performance. So you truly have to beware all these people saying hustle, grind 24 7, work until you die, Outwork everybody else. Burn them, burn them, get them, get them. I'm like, listen, A, you want to live a good quality of life and that does not involve working until you're exhausted and burnt out. Because that is not what anybody has on their goal sheet. Burnt out, exhausted, frustrated, having no life outside of work, that's not what we want. So you got to like take care of yourself. You've got to manage your physiology, recover, sleep well, eat well, use your mind well. Yes, community is an unfair advantage, but so is making sure not only is you're building a community, you're avoiding the community of naysayers out there just as much. I mean, I minimize my exposure to people who often say things like that won't work because how do they know that won't work? I mean, I want them to show me their Excel spreadsheet of all the different strategies they've actually tried so that they can exclusively show me what works and what does not work. How do they know what doesn't work? I avoid people who say nothing we can do about it because I just don't believe in a defeatist mentality. I don't. I believe we can all make a great difference. I avoid people who say all those people are just lucky because A they usually don't know those people and B, they haven't studied those people's strategies, skills, daily routines, habits and efforts. And lucky is true. We're all lucky. Lots of people are blessed. Lots of people have fortuitous things happen to them. But most people have luck show up over and over. They just work harder. Okay, guys, I'm just going to be honest and straightforward. If you are tired, sleep if unclear, meditate if sore, move if angry, forgive if unhappy, love if bored, give. Common sense is not always common practice. And so we suffer. I know most of personal and professional development advice or content is not fantastically new. But the truth is so much of what you need to do to improve your life, to feel happier, to be healthier, to move toward your dreams faster with greater focus and discipline, you already know what you should be doing and it's the fact that sometimes you aren't that causes so much misery. Just do the basics over and over, take care of the foundation, do the things you know you should be doing, like 30% more each week and all of a sudden you have this unbelievable breakthrough.
