Foreign. Hey, my friends, it's Brendon Burchard. And welcome to a special episode of the Brendon show, where we jump into some of the best of my motivational quotes. Hey, my friends, it's Brendan. And welcome to your weekly roundup of my 60 second motivational quotes that I post out on Instagram and other social media. We thought we'd compile them here for you to give you some motivational fire for your week. So let's go. Annoyance is a great cue to breathe. Annoyance is a great cue to breathe, my friend. So that next email that upsets you, that next voice, the next text, that next dm, that next political headline, that next email, the thing that freaks you out and upsets you, when you feel that annoyance, you're annoyed with your spouse, you're annoyed with the commute, you're annoyed with that thing that happened, you're annoyed with the boss said or your coworker said or the team said. When you find that annoyance, that's a cue. Breathe. You know, it's just those little upsets, those little moments of stress or anxiety or annoyance that are great cues to say, let me breathe here. Let me just pull back. Let me take 10 deep breaths, let me close my eyes, let me take another five breaths, let me find my center, set my intention, and move forward. You know, there's that space between stimulus and response, and the best thing to fill it with is breath and intention. Hoping to attract good things without gaining momentum through action is like hoping for help without raising your hand. You know, everyone wants to talk about attracting good things into your life, but you don't attract good things in your life by hope. You attract by action. You attract by showing the world, the universe, your God, your luck, whatever you want to call it momentum. It's when you get actual momentum. It's almost like the world conspires to support that momentum. It says, hey, look at this thing. This thing's at play. This thing is moving ahead. Let's support it. Let's put some force behind it. But if you're just sitting there thinking and hoping, that is not enough. We all know that you can have all the inspiration and ideation in the world, but without implementation, there's no momentum. And without momentum, there's no success. There's no more meaning. So we must take action if we hope to ever achieve anything. All greatness teeters on whether a would be hero or overcomes the terror within and advances regardless. Look, you're gonna be scared in 2020. You're gonna have big ideas, big dreams, big hopes, big visions, big plans. You're gonna go for it. You're gonna swing for the fences. But listen, whether or not you become the hero of your own story is whether or not you can face that terror within and advance regardless. So evaluate yourself in 2019. Did you go regardless or did you slow down because you were scared? Because that pattern is going to carry into change something. When pursuing your dream, there will come a point where it gets incredibly difficult. That's not a landmark that says stop, though. That's the true trailhead. You know, most people really quit at the very beginning of resistance. But the beginning of resistance is the beginning of the test. The test wasn't the idea. The test wasn't the hope. The test wasn't to figure out the dream. The test wasn't even clarity. The test begins at real resistance. That's the trailhead to the dream. Everything was just meandering roads leading up to the trailhead. The ideas, the hopes, the different discussion lines. No, the trailhead is the beginning of the. Of the most difficult resistance. That's where the dream really begins, my friend. So anticipate that. Look forward to that, and honor the struggle. Hey, it's Brendan. And listen to this one. One act of courage is better than 100 vision boards. Listen, I know it's 2019. You set your big goals. You have huge ambitions for your family, for your wealth, for your achievements, for. For the quality of life you really want to experience. You've got the goals. You probably drew out some maps to the better future for yourself. And every day must now be an act of courage to fulfill those dreams. Every day must be a disciplined effort to face the hardships, to face the challenges, to take the risks. Every day to change your future. Every day, you have to show up, up, my friend. Every day. You got to honor the struggle. You got to bring the energy you want to experience in life every day. Act, be courageous. 2019. It's yours. Oh, how we've gotten away from this one in our society right now, right? Never believe you are above or below anyone. Keep a humble spirit. You know when you're coming from a place of humility. You're able to not only recognize and honor other people, but you're able to ask questions. You're able to learn. You're able to take the advice of experts and thought leaders and people who've been there before you. You're able to respect your peers. You know, my biggest concern, honestly, in my industry over the last two years has just been seeing so many people who are, you know, adding unique value and building their personal brand and doing good work in the world and at the same time saying, well, everybody else is full of crap. You know, everybody else is lying and everybody else is no good. Everybody else is, you know, there's just all this judgment that goes along with the value that everyone could be adding. And I think it just comes back to returning to a place of a humble spirit, being the student and sharing openly with others to make a difference. Two notes here about freedom from Albert Einstein. All religions, arts and sciences are branches of the same tree. All these aspirations are directed toward ennobling a person's life. He said, man's life back then. Today we say a person's life, lifting it from the sphere of mere physical existence and leading the individual towards freedom. John F. Kennedy said, conformity is the jailer of freedom and the enemy of growth. These two quotes open my book, the Motivation Manifesto, because I deeply believe that we are all driven towards what I call personal freedom, that sense that we have the freedom to be who we really are in the world without the constraints or the fears of other people. We also want that freedom to pursue the things that really matter to us. We're all after personal freedom. So how can you experience more of that?
