Hey, my friends, it's Brendon Burchard. And welcome to a special episode of the Brendon show where we jump into some of the best of my motivational quotes. Hey, y', all. Y' all been asking for this for a long time. And we finally put it together for. For you. Every single day, I do a new 60 second audio sort of of my best quotes or of coaching that we put on Instagram. And I have just gotten such an outpouring of love for these. As you can see, each of them tends to get, you know, tens and tens of thousands or tens of tens of tens of thousands of views. So much love for these. And basically what I've done is I. If you haven't seen it, I. Please follow me on Instagram, Brendon Burchard. And what I like to do is post an actual quote of mine that I've written from one of my six books or, you know, the thousands of blogs and articles that I've done. And what I like to do is just grab a little bit of a quote. Maybe it's two to three sentences. And so I read the quote on Instagram and then I just go off on that quote for like 60 seconds. So literally just one minute of fire. And then as much as I can pretty much every single day on Instagram that I created originally. And people just wanted like a roundup of those. So finally somebody actually DM me on Instagram and said, man, you should do a mashup of all these on your podcast. These are, like, frigging inspiring. They're insightful, they're motivational because they're some of the best of what I've written. And I think you'll really enjoy these. It's kind of a funny format because each of them was only 62nd. And we're stringing together a bunch of them from this week for you right here in what we're gonna call the motivational quotes episodes. I hope you'll really enjoy that. So without further ado, enjoy these 60 seconds of motivation for your day, my friend. If you really like these, make sure you're following me on Instagram. And also just do me a simple favor that I know you guys are liking these. Take a screenshot of wherever you're listening to this, post it up on your socials, and use the Brendon show. That way I can see who's really engaging with these motivational quote sessions. And we'll be doing some giveaways this week and over the next couple weeks. So make sure, you use a hashtag, the Brendan show when you post about these motivational quotes. Sessions with that. Let's go.
Listen. Your level of contribution in the world, your level of excellence, your level of relationships and who you show up as are all based on the ambitions you have in life. But you know, so many people don't have the extraordinary quality of life that they deserve because they've never given themselves permission to want more, to dream for more, to see a bigger vision for themselves beyond their current circumstances or their high school years or their college years or their youth. And you have to see something bigger for yourself and allow yourself to desire it without guilt because you can have more in your life without taking away from other people. You can have more in your life in such a way that you can contribute more to other people. You can experience more, you can have more guilt free. But first you must give yourselves permission to desire something great again. And then one day I decided that hurry and stress were no longer going to be part of my life. You know, people ask me, well, Brendon, what is your big goal? What's your resolution? What is the thing you want to make sure that happens for you in 2019? I say, well, one of the things that is always part of my life now is that I want to be able to experience life with its full positive range of joy and presence and connection. Where I bring intention into each day, where I'm mindful of how I feel and I notice when I get hurried or stressed or upset about stupid things, about things that are not going to matter four years from now, two years from now, one month from now, or even three hours from now. So much of stress is self manufactured in our own mind. And once we become masters of our mind, we become masters of our world. Only two things change your life. Either something new comes into your life or something new comes from within. Yes, we all love 2019 to be extraordinary. And we'd love new things to come into our lives, new opportunities. We'd sure love to win the lottery. We'd sure love for somebody else to open up the door or give us permission. And suddenly everything changes because just grace and luck and maybe those things happen. Maybe those blessings come true. And I pray that for you. I pray that you meet 2019 and that 2019 meets you with tremendous amounts of joy and abundance. But also know that if change is going to happen, it is going to come from within. You're going to change this year. You're going to get a better attitude. You're going to make sure that you're more positive, more intentional, more present each day. You are the person who is going to win 2019, by the way. You show up. So get ready, my friend. 2019 is yours. Since I'm the habits guy, everybody is asking me about, like, how do I know if I'm going to succeed in 2019?
And I always say, well, it always.
Depends on performance necessity. You see, we have these internal forces that drive us. How our identity is like what our personal standards for excellence are and what our obsessions are like, what topics and process we love. And then we have the external forces like our duty to others, our obligation, our purpose of contribution plus urgency, like real deadlines which you need for your new year's goals. And when you have both, when your identity says, I must succeed at this and you love doing something, that's obsession and it overlaps with external forces. The duty you feel the obligation or purpose to contribute to others and there's real deadlines that becomes what we call performance necessity. This is a topic of high performance habits. There's a whole chapter on it. And I'll relate you this. Internal forces. Charles Dickens said, whatever I've tried to do in life, I've tried with all my heart to do it well.
