Brendon Burchard's final episode in the Striving in Chaos series, recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic. He reflects on coping with uncertainty and offers guidance on emotional resilience, leadership, and personal growth when everything feels chaotic.
Foreign.
It's Brendon Burchard. And welcome to another episode of the Brendon Show.
Hey all. This is another and final episode in my Striving in Chaos series. I hope that you've enjoyed this season as we've all been going through this season of being shut down, locked down in coronavirus. But listen, as I've always said, you can be locked down but still fired up. You can still strive through this chaos. You can still achieve and seek and dream of a better future for yourself, for your family, for others. And I wanted to do this last episode probably a little earlier than I anticipated. And the reason is, is because the feedback I've been receiving from everybody here on the podcast, which is, you know, an encouragement and a love of these episodes. But also listen, life is going to go on and I feel like a lot of the questions I've been receiving about what do you think about this? Or how are you dealing with this? I've shared in previous episodes of Striving in Chaos. So this is the last one and I hope you will download this one, share this one with others, but also do that same thing with those episodes because this is really a great, I think, compilation of how to have the mindset and the habit and the ability, the ability to cope, ability to lead, ability to be intentional through this process. And I felt like I captured that the best I could on these very, very sort of random off the cuff episodes of Striving in Chaos in this one. A hopeful message. Listen, as I've said from the beginning, we're all going to get through this, those who are truly blessed and I hope that you take this time right now to have great reverence for life, for your health, for your breath, for this opportunity to do personal development right now to I respect you for that. I really do deeply respect this community right now because I've never seen such engagement, never had so much engagement with this podcast, with my online courses, with our newsletters like across the brands, how much people have been really seeking out good wisdom, science backed wisdom, wisdom of experience, but frankly just straight up good old fashioned personal development that is needed.
At a time to keep us motivated.
Focused, compassionate, caring, loving, striving. So I begin with thank you, thank you for, you know, being there for me. You know, this for me. My first book came out unbelievably 20 years ago and you know, since the advent of Facebook, I've created four new pieces of content for you guys every day and I feel really blessed to be in the position to get to lead so many people in my own industry who I call and consult and advise almost on the daily, and to have the caliber of clients that many of you have been with me and are masterminds or my coaching programs. And getting to do this work, to me has never been something that I took for granted, but I've also never sensed that it was needed more. And so I've really enjoyed doing the series for you, and I want you to hear me share my gratitude with you. I also want to share that this moment, we all chose to be role models. We all chose to optimize our health or wellness. We all chose to skill up and meet the demands of the hour and enter this new world with newer competencies, or we didn't. And I'd like to speak to those who feel like they're really struggling right now still, you know, because we're not days into this crisis. We're not weeks, we're months. And, you know, there's this popular meme going around the Internet that there's no right way to cope with this. And that's unfortunately just not true. And it is neglecting a century of scientific research in psychology, sociology, and what we know, frankly, from thousands of years of spirituality. And that is, you know what? There's no right way to feel at any given moment. It's okay to say, you know, you can have your feelings, you can have your emotions, but there are right ways to cope. There are healthy ways to cope, and there are unhealthy ways to cope. And I think that line has been lost where we're constantly being saying, sometimes, you know, there's no right way. So whatever is right for you is good for you. And it's like, actually, no, because some people are coping with this by abusing their spouses. Some people are coping with this by drowning it out with alcohol. Some people are coping with this by starting illicit drugs that are going to really harm them. Not every coping mechanism is healthy. If that were not true, we wouldn't have the entire field of psychology. And so what I'd like to share with you is not some platitudes about psychology, but rather this person to person. We're weeks and months into this now. If you don't feel like you have found your footing yet, if you don't feel like you've been able to find your emotional center, if you don't feel like you found some type of routine or intentionality or conscious way of dealing with this, I want to say to you, you are not wrong. I want to say to you, I hope you seek help. I hope that you genuinely ask your family, your friends, your mentors, those around you for some support, for some perspective. And I am not saying this in some kind of, you know, trope that I have everything in my life figured out or that all of our audience is perfect. No, what I'm saying is that when uncertainty and chaos hits, if months go by and you don't feel like you found some type of grounding, what that means is you have greater complexity in your life, perhaps. What that means is sometimes, as my audiences are very young, they don't have the perspective of having dealt with, you know, real uncertainty or difficulty just yet. What that means sometimes is that, hey, you don't have the support you need in your household. And that is not a judgment. What I'm trying to say is this is just a simply a convenient time to recalibrate. It's a good time to check in, if you will. And that's what I'm really doing with this last episode of Striving Chaos. I'm checking in with you. How you doing? How have your emotions been? How are you dealing with your relationships? How are you dealing with your health? Do you still have a sense of purpose and drive and motivation and focus? And if you don't, it doesn't mean that you're a failure. It doesn't mean that you're weak. It doesn't mean that you need to be judged. What it means is you need to check in with others because maybe you don't have the perspective, the support that you need. Maybe it means you don't have the tools. Maybe it means you don't have the emotional experience yet. Maybe it means, oh my gosh, we're going through an unprecedented pandemic and lots.
Of people don't know how to deal.
With this and haven't set intentions for themselves because we're stuck reacting so often to. There's a lot going on out there. You and I know it. And so this isn't a you should be perfect message. It's an honest message that says, if you're really struggling, please check in with others, please ask for help, please get support, please know that others are going through the same thing that you're not lacking. That in fact, emotional strength comes from self reliance. Sure, you know, being able to cope, handle things, be tenacious through difficulties, but it also comes from resourcefulness, reaching out, extending, engaging with the world when our own internal self can't handle things, when we can't be self reliant. Emotional strength is seeking others, reaching out, being resourceful to get assistance, service tools, training, support from other people. And so this is the time for you to check in on yourself.
Hey y', all, let me jump into this episode real quick with something I usually don't do, which is kind of like a, I guess they call it a mid roll ad or something. But I decided to do this right now because I'm literally at home working during this coronavirus pandemic. And it's really ignited a lot of questions from my community about how do I do that? You know, how am I thinking through my career, how am I thinking through building my personal brand and my online sales during a time in which, yeah, we're home? Like, how does my industry or my career or my approach to it function? And so what I want to let you know is if you did not know, I do have a program for that. It's called the Influencer Business Program. And it's where I'm like teaching you. This is how I do everything. I teach you how to grow your personal brand, monetize content, launch campaigns, books, courses, webcast, live webcasts, subscriptions. I mean, it's about basically how do you grow your audience in online sales faster no matter where you are, no matter if you're starting or not. Because clearly you've seen me do it, not just with the podcast, but with 300 million video views, 25 multi million dollar online course launches, three New York Times bestsellers, 5 million fans on Facebook. I mean, you've seen the covers of the magazines and the chart topping stuff and the, you know, if you're on the email list of millions of email subscribers or you've seen the social media posts from other influencers, you know, joining my masterminds and asking me how I do it all. It's like I've been blessed with all of that.
And I just feel like maybe this.
Is the time that you learn to build your personal brand, that you finally get yourself up online and making real online sales. Because, you know, I've been doing it for 14 years, every day, full time. And I've spent, you know, literally tens and tens of millions of dollars on figuring it out, on running ads, on learning which campaigns work, which ones don't, on starting from nothing, pushing every button myself, to finally growing it bigger and bigger and bigger. And people always want to know, what's your marketing strategy? What is the modern thought leader business model that can be, you know, built and monetized quickly? You know, how do you tell your story or build credibility? And how do you get people to buy from you? Or what should you sell, what should you not sell? Or how do you create great content or online curriculum that sells? Or you know, what are, you know, what are funnels and launches and how do they work? And what should I do first, second and third? And if you had to start over, Brendan, what are the four things you should do or what tools and systems use? How do you get promotional partners? How do you do online challenges? How do you create lifelong fans? I mean, I'm just like literally sitting here thinking, this is what I do every day. And if you would like to get a seven day crash course on that and then even live monthly marketing training for me, that's what we now call my Influencer business program. And you can literally just go to influencer businessprogram.com and it'll take you to the page to learn about that. Now, it's for serious people only. Obviously you hear me during this, this, you know, this global sort of shutdown and pandemic with coronavirus, giving away one of my courses with the Wellness Masterclass. But this one, this one's for serious players. This is, there is a charge to it obviously where I go live every single month. And I also give you some of my best online training so that you can get, you know, your personal brand growing, grow that audience, make more online sales. So if you're into that type of thing, go to influencer businessprogram.com I mean, that's influencer businessprogram.com all together. Influencer businessprogram.com and you can learn about the multiple membership levels. I kind of made it affordable. If you want to do a monthly or if you want to take the whole year or you want the advanced pro program, you can learn all about that. Influencer business program.com My main message to this audience and everyone I'm talking to right now is if you have not done the work to get yourself online, if you feel like falling behind in the digital era, if you don't have recurring revenue every single day with some type of online sales, if you don't get the hint now, you're never going.
To get the hint.
I mean, you need to do that now in this growing pandemic. I genuinely believe we are going to see such a disruption in the economy in the coming months. And those who have figured out pretty things to grow their Instagram, but never built the business model, never learn recurring revenue, never learn how to do real launches that bring in the real money that Allows them to have the living. They're really going to struggle this year. We're going to see people who have, you know, no fans, no audience, no email list really struggle. But we're also going to see people who have no online sales really struggle. And we're really going to see people who have even millions of fans but who never figured out the monetization completely fall apart. So please go to influencerbusinessprogram.com if you are in this industry or, you know, it's time to build your personal brand and get those online sales going because, listen, the economy is going to be really difficult. But also, more importantly than that, listen, it's time to share your voice to lead, to be a role model, to share your expertise, your life wisdom, your perspective about things with more people. Because we need more leaders out there sharing positive messages of hope, of strength, of optimism for the future because we will make it through this. And it will be the influencers and the voices out there sharing our thoughts, our wisdom and our advice that will help carry and set the tone towards a better Future. Influencer Business Program.com. we'd love to see you in that program. Influencer business program.com.
I also want to let you know if you're doing well and if you're in a responsibility of being a role model, a parent, a caregiver, a leader. This is also that exact same moment for you to check in with those you lead, love and serve. Right now, we're two months in. Two months in. @ least all around the world. At least two months in. You know, some people are entering third months, and so this is a moment to check in on others. How's your mom doing? How's your dad doing? Not, hey, mom, how's it going? Hey, dad, how's it going? Hey, I want to have a conversation with you. We're two months in. I just want to make sure, you know, how are you really feeling? You know, I know you're trying to be strong, Mom. I know you're trying to be strong. Friend. I know you're trying to be strong manager. Tell me, how are you processing this? What thoughts are coming up for you? What's been difficult for you? What have you learned about yourself? What do you think you need? If things were better for you right now, what would that look like? Do you ever get sad? This has been frustrating, huh? We're gonna get through this together.
These are messages that you need to.
Convey with your team, with your family, with your loved ones. It's time to check in it's time to check in. And I know from day one I've said the same three things to you. Adopt the role model mindset, optimize your health and wellness and skill up. But I want to end this series with a simple check in to remind you that it is okay if you are struggling and to remind you, if you are struggling, to reach out, to.
Remind you that if you are in.
A position of leadership or positive influence in other people's lives, it is time to reach out. Let's check in our footing.
We don't have to be perfect, we don't have to be strong, we don't.
Have to have everything figured out. But at this point, we are either consciously and intentionally dealing with this or we are avoiding, denying, hiding, waiting, and.
Life will carry on. Life will carry on.
We will lose people, people will lose.
Jobs, the economy will be haywire. We'll all remember these moments.
And I'm not here to say it's over, but this episode and this season, striving in chaos, is over today. And so I wanted to end on also a reminder. You are stronger than you think you really are. Because if you're listening to this, God bless you, you're still engaging your personal development. If you are still engaging this, still going within, still asking the tough questions, still evaluating life, still still given that bravery to scorecard yourself, to ask if you're growing, ask if you're doing your best, ask if you're being a role model and leader. If you're in my high performance community, that's what I refer everyone here to as Team hpx, the high performance experience. There's that other level of vibrancy and connection, excellence.
Oh yes, there is.
So if you are here, God bless you, you're one of a very rare and few. You might not know that because you might struggle, but it is very rare for people to engage in their personal development. And if anything, that has been demonstrated in spades worldwide. Because people have just discovered just how much personal development psychology they've really dug into. People just discovered how their health routines were. People just discovered if they had skills for the modern era. People are discovering some very uncomfortable, difficult realities. But those who have faced and literally welcomed uncomfortable, difficult realities in their lives by engaging with personal growth, by seeking growth, they have put challenges before themselves time and time before. They struggle is nothing new to them. Uncertainty is nothing new to those who are dedicated to the path of purpose. And so you're here and so you are stronger than you think. And so you are here and so you are still at it, and so you are here and let some pride come in for being one of the.
Rare and one of the few that.
Engages in deep contemplation about your life, my friend. And since you are here, I'd also like to remind you the future, the future is better than you think. The future is going to be much better than you think. How can you say that, Brendan? Because to believe the opposite is to deny the forward march of progress that has happened for thousands of recorded history. The years and the years and the years and the centuries of progress. Yes, humanity has screwed up a lot. We've hurt each other.
We've gone to war. We wrecked our Earth.
We've allowed negativity and division to be celebrated. We've allowed people to spread hate. We have allowed as a species some of the worst atrocities to war on.
Year after year after year after year.
And we at the same time have provided health care to more people on the planet than any time in history. We have raised wages around the world year over year. We have increased the number of hospitals and schools worldwide. More people are entering the middle class than any time in history. More people have the conveniences than any time in history. More people have food than any time in history. More people have access to medical education opportunity than any time in history. It's easy to believe that it's all negative. It's easy to recognize what's not working. And it's easy to cast blame, doubt and fear in times of uncertainty, as we have just faced in these last two months. And we will inevitably face the next two? And so what of it? Shall we believe the future has nothing good for us? Shall we believe the future will descend into just darkness and chaos without that human light that has been here? Shall we believe that things will be dark when darkness only exists because there is light? Shall we believe that things will never be good when inside you're good? Your fellow humans, believe it or not, want good things for themselves and their families. That, by and large, evidence is unanimous. Evidence is undeniable that in general, most humans are moral. In general, most humans carry on, wish good for their neighbor, want to love the kids, want to strive and do good things in their life. Because if that was not true, with 7 billion people running around, we would have blown up the earth decades ago. The fact that we have striven through the ability to destroy each other and the world in mass is hopeful in itself. But the fact that you, one single soul that I'm speaking to now, that heart in your chest that's beating right now. If you listen close enough, you can hear something within. If you sense your body enough, you can feel your pulse. That that one soul that I'm speaking to right now that you are still working on yourself. That's something. That's hope, that's real, that's the future. I deeply appreciate each of you. I've been recording this season in this little room and usually in the pretty dark little room on the side thinking about you guys. I'm blessed. You know, my first book came out 20 years ago and every day I.
Get up and I think about my.
Audience and the people I'm speaking to because I'm either writing a book or writing posts or filming videos or coaching and consulting people or thousands of people through the Internet. But every day you're on my mind. Once you know that, once you know that there's people out there who actually think about your well being even when they might not have ever met you. Maybe I've never gotten to shake your.
Hand or give you a big hug.
And now it might be a while before that you might punch me in the face with some social distancing stuff. But someday maybe we'll meet. Maybe. If not, it's kind of nice to think there's people out there thinking about your well being who wake up to do this kind of work. Just cause there's no sponsored ads on the Brendon show for six years. No sponsored ad on the YouTube show for six years. No newsletter I've ever done for seven years, eight years, nine years has been sponsored, never ran ads on my blog from sponsors.
Just get up to do the work.
That's what I tell myself.
Just get up to do the work.
Brendan, what's the work? Be in there for people trying to be a positive voice out there for people trying to put some energy in the world. Trying to remind people that you can deal with this struggle, that you're stronger than you think. Trying to remind people joy and happiness isn't something you have. You bring it, bring the joy. Trying to remind people that high performance is possible and it feels like engaging things. It feels like you bring joy. It feels like you're confident in your abilities to figure things out and to add value. Oh yes, there is another level of life experience still available to us all. And it is there. It is out there beyond our comforts. It is out there and it is asking us to rise. It is out there, my friends, every day for us to rise to. To ask the best of ourselves, to serve the best that we can. Because that very intention of goodness, that very intention of service is the future. So I'm going to see you out there in the future. I'm going to be up tomorrow morning doing my work, thinking of you. Millions and millions of people in my industry, they'll be doing the same thing. I'll tell you what, people will be thinking about you. You'll be thinking about people. So check in with yourself, check in with them, and let's keep moving forward. Yes, it's hard to thrive and have everything perfect in life, but you can always strive in this chaos. You can always choose to go through.
Life average ho hum, just showing up.
And living a reactive life. Or you can choose to be extraordinary. You can choose to forge the mindset and the habits and the relationships and the leadership opportunities and the service in the world that makes a true difference. You can choose that extraordinary quality of life. Still, the future is still there. Tomorrow is still there.
I'll be there.
You'll be there. We'll be there together. God bless you. God bless your family, your loved ones, your teams. I thank you for your support. I honor you. The Brennan show will continue on. This season is now done with striving and chaos, but oh yes, I shall be there and I know you will be too. Please share this episode with anyone you think would enjoy it. Please rate and review the podcast anywhere you can share the word. We're trying to do good things here still every day.

Hey, my friend, I'm jumping in here with one last message to to you that we bolted on because it just, it's just timing. You know, everybody is asking me how I run my career, how do I generate online sales, how do I build the real business? I mean, how am I getting my personal brand out there? How am I thinking through this industry during this time right now. And so if you're somebody who's wanted to share your voice and you've known you needed to monetize your content online, you've known you need to grow your following. You know that for security through this modern economy and what we're going to face this year, you need to generate recurring revenue. You need to get some online digital content out there. And you don't want to get left behind in what is obviously becoming a greater and greater digital economy. You need to be out there. And if I can serve you with that, here's how I do it. Go to influencer businessprogram.com influencer businessprogram.com and that will take you to my membership levels in the Influencer Business program where I help you understand how do you grow your personal brand? We have three different member levels and I'm here to tell you, as you are certainly listening to my voice right at this moment, why can't that be your voice? Why can't you be and the person sharing positivity, hope, guidance, strength, optimism out in the world right now so that we can help people face the chaos with a little bit more confidence, with a little bit more authenticity and vulnerability, but also personal power. Why can't you take anything you've learned in your whole life about career or business or wellness or health or just living a good life, being a good parent, you know, chasing your dreams? Why can't you take that advice, structure it, build a personal brand around it, build some online digital content around it, sell it, get recurring revenue and build something that not only carries you through with digital sales through this scary economy, but more importantly sets you up to share your voice and make a difference at a time when it matters more than ever? You clearly hear I'm passionate about this, so go to Influencer Business Program right now. That's Influencer Business program dot com.
