Where to Start to Reach High Performance?

Brendon Burchard explains how to reach high performance through clarity in intention, interaction, and success habits. He walks through his High Performance Academy program and shares testimonials from participants who credit it with transforming their personal and professional lives.
Have you ever noticed that sometimes you're inconsistent? You know, some days you show up and you just crush it and you knock it out of the park. You have an amazing day at work. You knock off all your projects, you get things done. You're efficient, you're focused, you're motivated, you're driven, you're awesome with people. Your spouse loves you, the team likes it. You have a great day. And other days you struggle just to pay attention. You kind of show up in your grumpy, or you just notice that you're not getting things done and you're kind of shuffling papers and doing a lot of busy work but not actually achieving anything. This is a big topic in conversation in what we call high performance studies. It's about how do you reach your full potential and stay there. Now, I define high performance as succeeding over the long term, consistently beyond standard measures. That means however you would measure your normal success in your industry or in your field or what you consider having a great day. How do you get a little heightened above that and sustain it? That's what high performance really is. It's heightened and sustained success over and above regular normal measures over the long term. But how do you get there? It's one of the fundamental problems we have, right? You want to reach your full potential and performance. You want to be amazing. But sometimes you lose that edge. What is that edge that high performers have? Well, I've been blessed to conduct some of the largest studies ever of high performers, using assessment tools and empirical analysis to try and figure what is it that makes them different, what's unique about them. And that's what I'd like to share with you today. There's one thing that makes all of the difference, that once you understand this and you start practicing it, as easy as it sounds, it will make so much of a difference in your life and your performance. You'll be amazed. That one thing begins with clarity. Clarity. It turns out high performers are just more clear about three things than most other people are. And if we can get you more clear about these three things in your life, we can increase your performance and your success rate. It's so simple. I know there are other things, but today we're just focusing on this one thing. Clarity. The first area, if you're going to get more clarity and high performance in your life that you want to focus on is getting clear about your intention for who you are. Now, I know that sounds basic, but high performers know the best of who they are. They've defined it. They can describe It. For example, in research interviews, when asked, you know, how would you describe the best of who you are? They can answer it faster with more confidence and clarity and articulation than the standard population. It means you know who you are and what makes the best of you. So try this activity. Try to write down the three best ways that you could describe yourself. Just three words, right? Try to come up with three words that define the absolute best of you. Do you know what they are? Did you already have them? Is it hard to come up with those? Well, your response time to this type of thing can tell us whether or not you have clarity about who you really want to be in life and how. I know it sounds so basic, but isn't it true? Some days you just kind of get up and you kind of get your coffee or go to work and you're just kind of bumbling through the day without any real intention about who you are. And sometimes people go through, you know, years or months or even a decade of their life and they haven't really thought about the best of who they are. They haven't been bringing that best of who they are into the situations and circumstances of their life. And then one day they hit 40 or 50 or, or 60 and they go, I don't know who I am. And they have this midlife crisis and they act like life caused the crisis. No, lack of intention caused the crisis. Each day you have this opportunity to show up as the best of who you are, but you must trigger that. One of the things I teach at one of my programs called High Performance Academy. It's a four day live training seminar on the topic of High performance, where we dig deep into your psychology, physiology, productivity, people skills and your purpose. One of the things that we focus on is teaching people this idea of mental triggers, triggering yourself to remember things that are important so you perform better. If you're going to trigger yourself to remember anything, trigger yourself to remind yourself of how to be your best self. I know that sounds so basic, but I've worked with people, you know, at the top levels where I literally take out your phone and they grab their phone and I have them type in those three words that describe the best of the who they are. And it's in their phone now. You can see it. There it is, right in their phone. And they set up alarms that go on throughout the day and those words keep showing up at them on their phone. Their phone buzzes, they look at it and they're reminded to be that person. Remind yourself again, okay, don't go through another day just bumbling into it. Decide who you want to be the best of you and you have a better day and you have better performance. The second area of clarity that high performers have above and beyond most people is the clarity for intention of who they want to be with others, specifically how they want their interactions to go. This means that a high performer, before going into a meeting, thinks about each person in the room and how they should interact with them to get the best result. It means before you go and talk with your spouse about a conflict or a challenge, you think about what they need in that situation and you think about what you need. And you're kind of strategic going into the conversation. They're more strategic about their interactions, what they want from the interactions, and what other people want from interactions. So from now on, even if you're going to go on a date night or you're going to go out and hang out with your friends, before you go out, just sit, spend two, three minutes. That's all. Just a few minutes thinking about, how do I want this to go? How would I know this was an amazing interaction or a great date night? Like, just define in advance what success looks like in that social interaction. You'll have higher clarity and you'll perform at higher levels. And the third big area that successful people have that they're more clear about than most other people is very simple. What makes you succeed? Not like, what's your strengths or how you were born or what, what's your good at naturally or innately? No, what has made you succeed in the past? Specifically, if you had to narrow it down to three things, what specific things made you succeed in the past? Think about it. Was it hard work? Was it passion? Was it perseverance? Was it asking for help? Was it hiring a team? Was it going to seminars? Was it reading books? Like, what gave you the edge in the past? Because whatever gave you the edge in the past, the question now is, are you doing that consistently today and this week and next month? Right. High performers have routines that make them successful, that they're just running more consciously and consistently than other people. Other people are going through the motions. High performers are forcing themselves to do what they already know makes them good. These are three big areas of clarity that make you a high performer. I hope that serves you today. And if you like this type of thing, come to High Performance Academy live. Again, that's my four day training seminar on topics like this where we go way deep into the research that is proven to help you Reach higher levels of performance. It is the only empirically scientifically backed training in the world that absolutely increases your high performance scores across multiple measures of your life, increases your happiness by double digits, increases your productivity by double digits. Not in our opinion. By your opinion, by your self reports, by your results. It's the only training program built on modern neuroscience, built on modern positive psychology, built on modern high performance studies. So we're not sitting there asking you, hey, tell me about your childhood and maybe that we can figure out why you're who you are. And we're not doing a lot of that. We're focused on what works today, what's a new mindset, a new habit, a new tool you can use to get ahead. Specifically in the four days we cover big areas of your life, but we give you all of those tools to get ahead in them. For example, day one, it's all about your psychology. How do we get you to higher levels of focus and motivation and happiness and joy in your life so that each day you show up and not only do you feel, feel good, but you demonstrate better performance. We talk about physiology. I mean, what should you be eating? How can you get more vibrant in your physiology, feel better, I mean physically feel better, not just mentally physically feel better. How can you use your body to activate more mental performance and increase your stamina so throughout the day you're not having these crashes and these burns and these runs to Starbucks all the time, that you have more, more physical vitality to succeed? The third day is all about productivity. These are the strategies that the world's wealthiest people use to manage their time, to manage their teams, to do project planning, to figure out what the right goals are, to evaluate good opportunities so that their time is productive and is efficient and is effective. Because most of us just bumble through the day or look in our calendar, oh, I guess I have to call this person to do that. And we're more reacting than being strategically productive. And that's something you need to learn. High performers, it turns out, are better at producing what we call productive output related to their field. And I'm going to help you do that at High Performance Academy. And then that last big piece that we take on there is your people skills. If you want to get ahead, you have to become more influential. You have to learn how to better lead other people. You have to get other people to learn to believe in you, to buy from you, to invest in you, to support your big dreams and ideas. But you can't do that if your people skills aren't way, way, way elevated above everybody else. And so we're going to teach you the skills for that. And then the final piece is we bring it all together and tie it in to help you figure out your purpose, your mission, your real primary fields of interest and focus over these coming years. Because sometimes what prevents a person who has everything set up for them, everything in life is, is a blessing or prevents that person from rising that next level is they just don't have clarity. So you're going to get a lot of that at High Performance Academy, too. So there's a link in this post or on this page where you can learn all about High Performance Academy live. Brendon Burchard is one of the best teachers I have ever had the gift of being in the presence of. He's masterful, he's creative, he's on purpose, he's on target. And beyond all of who he is, his mission in life and his actual fulfillment of that mission is to bring that out in each of us. And he's done it for me.
This is High Performance Academy advanced psychology, physiology, productivity and persuasion training for today's high achievers and leaders.
Brendan Burchard is just the very best in high performance training, personal development. What I find is he takes the common sense and he puts it into a framework so that we can actually use it in our everyday to grow and to move forward.
I'm here at Brendan Burchard's High Performance Academy. Now, you gotta come to this event. I'm telling you, Brendan is so authentically energetic, enthusiastic, energizing and so savvy on all the things that make you a high performer. There's so much here. I mean, even for people who think they've got it all figured out and dialed in and that are performing high in their life, I'm telling you, there are strategies and nuances and technology and cutting edge information here that you don't want to miss.
I have a much clearer idea and a much better plan and a better and a clear pathway of what I need to look at, what I need to measure, how I need to change, and more specifically, what habits and thinking habits, particularly what I need to put into my life so that I can change the way I think, the way I feel and the way I behave. All of this wrapped up into one package is going to definitely change my life.
It's been so far, three days of off the charts training. Just the stuff that Brendan gives us is actionable, it's real, it's content, driven and Brendan is Great at not only motivating you to live at a higher level, to perform at a higher level, but he gives you the framework and the actual strategies to do it.
Brendan, oh my gosh, he is a blessing. He puts, he connects the dots in what we struggle with. It has opened me up. I woke up this morning, morning, just alive again. And I recommend this for anybody, any walk of life, any place they're at. I'd like my adult children to come. I think it would be a wonderful, you know, advantage for them. I've heard people walking the halls talking about, wow, I've got four kids at home and these things I'm going to start now. So it's just amazing and I am grateful this year.
My charge to myself has been to, when presented with good, better and best choices for myself and for others, to always choose the best. And that's been my charge for the whole year. But I'll tell you that I didn't have all the practices that I needed in order to implement that. So I found myself in a huge rut. And let me just tell you that now I have not only a single six month action plan for the practices that I'm going to implement in order to really take that charge seriously and be the best person that I can be at home and in my business, but I also know exactly what I'm going to do every day when I get up out of bed, all the way to when I go to bed at night. And let me just tell you that that is invaluable because it's the small little decisions that really make such a huge difference.
I'm here at High Performance Academy with Brendan Burchard. Like many of you probably already know, you've seen the videos and everything. That guy just gives everything in every video. Well, it's everything and more in person. I've learned so much here that I had no expectation to learn from him and the people that he brought on stage. Would I recommend it? Absolutely.
This event has been one of the most incredible, life changing events that I personally have gone to. Brendan means so much to me and what his teaching is doing that I've taken with me, my family of four kids and my husband to be at this event with me. He looks at not only what is important, what's important to focus on, how to manage your time. He looks at all the mechanisms, what drives you, what keeps you interested in things and just really gets us to level up and change our game. If you're looking to change your game, if you're Looking, looking to take your life to the next possible level, then this is the place to be.
And all I can say is, oh, my goodness. So I've been following this guy for a little while, and who he is on that stage is powerful beyond belief. I had no idea what I'd be walking into. And I just cannot wait to put into all these practices tangible tips, techniques, tools that I am learning and implement them into my life to, to really bring my game up to the next level. If you ever have an opportunity to work with this man in any of his programs, I cannot recommend him highly enough. I am taking on the 60 day challenge. I am bringing the joy to my life. I am going to commit to making the change. This is my new demarcation line, and I can't wait for what's in store. Thank you, Brendan, and hope to see you here soon.
Brendan attracts the most incredible people in the world, people from all over the world. And this is my first time at High Performance Academy. And I feel so great being here just from the energy, just from the incredible people. Everything that I'm learning from him and what I'm getting is, like, these tools on how to, like, shortcut, you know, the learning curve. Like, Brendan's done it. Brendan is this incredible expert, and I'm getting all the time and all the struggle that it took him to get to where he's at like this.
I've taken a lot of personal development classes because I want to be the best I can for my patients. But when you're listening to Brendan, you leave, like, just wanting to be the best person that you can be. He just has so many valuable tools and tips that I really feel like I can actually finally make a difference in the world because I took everything that he said and I'm, like, taking it to heart and really paying attention for four days. It's the most amazing training that I've ever been to. This is going to be the stepping stones for me to make it to.
The next level if you have a chance.
Everybody says walk, don't run, sprint, fly, jump, hop in a boat, swim across the ocean. Make your way here as best you can because you will never, ever, ever forget it. You'll never also ever regret it.
