Questions this video answers
211 East Congress (downtown Detroit).
About 13 students.
The 22nd of every month.
Over 20 million potential viewers.
What's up, good people? This is jasmin steele of nobadnews.com and I'm here with Jay Rayford of repaircity.com again. We're back week two.
Sure, sure.
And we are chilling here in Ambiance Ultra Lounge in downtown Detroit. What's the address?
211 East Congress West West Congress in downtown Detroit.
We want to send a shout out to the owner, Mr. Ger, for letting us come in. I love him. So do you get out a lot? Do you come down here to Amiens?
Oh, man, I've been out here a couple times, you know, stepping in the name of love, but in Detroit style.
So how was your yesterday? I heard you were really, really busy.
Oh, my God. The wide rep youth roundtable yesterday was amazing.
What happened?
Oh, my God. We had about 13 kids come out from different area schools in Detroit.
So what were the kids really talking about? They were talking about different issues in the city.
One thing one student said that really kind of churn was that if you cut education, how you expect the economy to rise up. Exactly.
I like that.
So the plan is pretty much to get all their solutions. This is the first one. We're going to have three more. We're actually going to try to get President Obama or the first lady out to attend.
All lay it by Mr. Wright first.
I got to give it to them though. And also the moderator, Brandon Jessup of Michigan. Ford couldn't have did it without her.
That's good. In other news, I'm excited because the Impact Network, they have a new. What is it? Station.
Yeah, it's a new state broadcasting station which is 100% black owned and they're going to be doing a lot of religious programming and other programming. So it'll be an opportunity for Detroit to have an outlet to be seen.
Impact means power. It means force. It is definitely a movement that will definitely go across the country. And to let others know that Detroit is not dead, we will rebuild the waste places. We will rebuild the city. And that there is a light shining in the city of Detroit and I.
Heard that it's over 20 million potential viewers.
Wow.
But I'm glad that they're coming to the city. That's awesome.
So this citywide peace function is going on. You know a little bit about that.
I was riding to work and I saw like all the buses had like the same advertisement on. I'm like, what's going on? What's really good? And it's Talking about the 22nd day of every month is now declared the citywide day of peace.
Awesome.
But basically the idea behind it is to kind of stop the violence and make people think about, you know, just being peaceful with somebody. Yeah.
One day a month. That's not bad. You know, on the 22nd, I'll get out and about, find out what these efforts are that they have going on, and just get involved. I mean, if somebody frustrates you, just go ahead and brush it off.
Brush it off. Brush it off. Right. So to start, I know today's not the 22nd. I'm a little early, but I wanted to do something nice and peaceful to you today. Cameraman, can you zoom in on what I'm doing? I just put stickers all over Jay.
Cool.
I think that to promote peace, how really frustrated could you be if someone just walked up to you and, like, put a nice sticker on you? Like, think about it when you were a child, like, if you got a sticker, didn't that make your day?
Just like how the teacher used to put it on your report card. Like, you did an awesome job. You know, I actually felt special. My teacher did that.
Right.
Even if I didn't get all the.
Right answers, you know, so we should rekindle that. I really should rekindle that. That's an idea for you. That's just mine. But whatever you decide, just keep it peaceful on the 22nd for sure. Awes it's awesome news.
Awesome. Everybody keep talking about me for saying awesome. Awesome.
And there are great things happening in the city of Detroit every week. We're coming to you and bringing them to you. If you have any ideas for us, please email us at what tank Happy info News. Happy info@nobadnews.com now you spell it N.
