Transcript excerpt of a discussion where a business leader reflects on lessons from stepping into the CEO role and scaling to multiple locations. The speaker emphasizes the importance of building repeatable, simple workflows (likened to a tunnel) and the value of having done hands-on work before delegating and standardizing processes.
What were some of the biggest lessons you learned as you stepped into the CEO role and you had to scale the business and you did scale the business to multiple locations.
Building repeatable processes is the most important thing and the way my brain works and I hope all business owners kind of like train themselves on this to simplify things instead of making things more complicated and then think about like maybe it's easier for me because I understand like the whole like coding if this then that type situations and the way that I like to think about things is like building a tunnel and having people just go through that same tunnel a million times till we have to change the tunnel, make it bigger because our size or quantity or volume or whatever maybe doesn't make sense anymore for that workflow. But I like to think about things as workflows. But it definitely helps when I've done the things myself. Figure it out and then you push forward.
