It's Really Happening!

Richard celebrates ServiceTitan finally adding a duplicate button to the Price Book, a feature he's been asking for. He's grateful but frustrated that duplicate functions are sometimes locked behind paid extensions like PriceBook Pro, while other parts of the app have them for free.
Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. What's going on, everybody? You know who it is. Listen, I've got big news. I think it's happening. The duplicate button is coming to the price book for all users. I mean, I don't know what to say. This is a huge win. One of the main drivers behind me starting this channel in the first place was to feel more connected with Service Titan, to feel like I had some more influence over the direction of the product. So this, for me, feels really amazing because I know that I had something to do with this decision. Yeah, I also. You get out of here, Comm. Nobody asked you. Okay. This really snuck up on me. I wish I had better notice this is something that just kind of got snuck into the release notes after I had already made my release notes video. So film the video, I uploaded it, put it out there, and then a few days later, the duplicate button starts showing up in the next accounts. And then I go in and I check the release notes. And it's there. It's there now. They added it. Now, if we could also get that view in mobile button so we could see what the price book looks like that we're building without having to use a managed tech account, then we'd really be talking. And so, in celebration of this news, here's a super cut of every time I mention the duplicate button since I started this YouTube channel, starting with the very beginning, my review of Price Booth Pro. And it also comes with. Wait, is that a duplicate button? Excuse me just one moment. I have to have a quick word. Service Titan. Service. Titan. Service Titan. Hey, what are you doing, man? I defended you. You're embarrassing me. No, no. You can't gate those behind a paid feature. That doesn't make any sense. No, no. You know what? It's time for a Titan timeout. You need to go to your room. Yes, Right now. I'm doing this because I love you. This part of PriceBook Pro is infuriating. These two features should be part of a regular update. They should not be gated behind a paid extension, especially the duplicate button. Duplicate is a very simple function. It's basic, and we should have had it a long time ago. After all of these hours and hours poured into this price book, manually recreating similar items over and over. Finally, there's a duplicate button, and they gate it behind something that we have to pay for that has mostly nothing to do with the feature. I mean, if I have Price Book Pro, I need a duplicate button less. If I'M building my own price book. I really need that duplicate button. This feature came really late and to roll it out this way really feels. Feels like one of these Surfacetitan employees. Look at me. Look at me in the eyes. Hey, look at me. Look at me in the eyes. I know some of you watch these videos. You can't do this. You can't do it. The pitchforks are gonna come out. If you're going to make a paid extension, it's got to be a feature that not everybody will want or need. The PriceBook Pro product itself. Yes. Not everybody will want or need it. Duplicate button. That's a basic tool. I don't mind that when I buy a copy of Microsoft Windows I have to pay extra to buy Microsoft Edge Excel. But if I bought Microsoft Windows and they made me pay extra for copy and paste, I'd be pretty copy and pissed off. This is not gating something behind a paid extension because not everybody will want or need it. This is crippling the core product to make the extension look better. Okay. Price book duplicate button now standard for all users. I'm kidding. They didn't do that. Allow auto unlock. Allow Siri when locked. Allow voice dialing. Force a pin. Allow bookstore erotica. Okay, I've hopped off the plane at lax. I've got my dreams. I've got shit. I've got my cardigan. Duplicate scheduled custom reports. Save time in scheduling reports by creating a copy of existing scheduled reports by clicking Duplicate in the scheduled reports menu. This new button prevents you from manually creating the same scheduled report again. That's great. Wow, what a just great. Amazing, basic useful tool. I wonder if there's anywhere else in the product where we could use such a basic useful tool. I don't know. I don't know. I'll have to think about it. Okay. Under price book. Alright, Richard, this is it. This is the one. This is the one where they're gonna make the duplicate button available to all users. And it's all because of you. You convinced them. You did it, Richard. You did it. They're gonna throw a parade in your honor. They're gonna build a statue. Thank you, Richard. They'll say thank you for giving us this gift of the Duplic Equipment name included in searches. You can now search by equipment name when using the PriceBook search bar to find equipment. Previously, only equipment code, model and description were used in searches. This new functionality makes it easier to find equipment more commonly known by the name than the model number. Okay. Of course, of course you should be able to search by the name. Sorry. No, it's a good change. I've just had something else in mind. Now, to be clear, I don't want to get anybody's hopes up. I think Price Book Utopia is still several years out into the future. But it's good to see that we're moving in the right direction at least. Did you see that duplicate? There it goes again. And the last item. The number one thing on my wish list this year. And this may surprise you, this may surprise you that I would pick this duplicate button, baby. Duplicate button, duplicate button. I want a duplicate button in the price book for everybody. Don't gate a behind price book Pro. Make it for everyone. We need it really bad. The duplicate binding. You guys know that movie Duplicate button, duplicate button, duplicate make it for everyone. Duplicate button. Don't gate up button. Duplicate button in the Pro. But please the duplicate button. What's it gonna take from the will of God? Duplicate button, duplicate duplicate button. I'd like the duplicate button in the price book please for everybody. Next, under Jobs we have duplicate jobs. So when you're booking a job that's similar to an existing one, instead of having to a new job from scratch, you can now duplicate the existing job. Duplicating a job copies the information from the existing job to the job booking on the call screen. This feature is especially useful if your office workflow involves booking a separate job for every day of work on multi day projects saving you about 20 clicks. Please note that to use this feature you will have to purchase Job Booking Pro. Aw what? I'm kidding about that part. This is a default feature for everybody as all duplicate buttons should be Copy shop, copy copy copy shop. Full time job non stop copy shop.
