Bill Brown says contractors often quit marketing too soon, expecting returns in 30 days like they're day trading. He built a simple ROI calculator for ServiceTitan users that factors in customer lifetime value and how long you measure the payoff over, not just immediate revenue.

I just, you know, I, I talked to other contractors who always wanted to quit their marketing efforts cuz they didn't see the ROI fast enough. And I just thought about it like, man, if you buy a stock, you know, do you really expect a 30-day return or you're getting rid of the stock, right? Like how long, if I put $625 out there, how long can I wait before it's returned to me and still like the marketing channel? So what I put together, that, that calculator is very simple, right? It doesn't have like your specific marketing channels. It doesn't have all of the, you know, residential versus commercial. So I've seen the calculators that you guys put together. It's obviously a lot more in-depth than that. But I just wanted something simple that ServiceTitan companies could easily upload into a system and check it out. But you guys have, can you kind of tell me a little bit about how your analysis works? Sure. With LTV and membership retention and everything.
Yeah, well, I think like you nailed it and then it's about the time span that you're reviewing it.
