The founders of ServiceTitan grew up watching their fathers work brutal hours in plumbing, roofing, and electrical work. They built software to handle invoicing and payments so trades workers could spend less time on paperwork and more time with family.
I remember my dad's hands very, very vividly. It was mostly black and dirt either.
Covered in dirt, paint, grout, so many cracks. But also super strong, capable.
My grandfather owned a roofing company.
My dad was a plumber.
My father was a master electrician.
As a little girl, it always felt like there's nothing dad couldn't do.
He used to be able to carry one of those old cast iron bathtubs, like on his back.
He always worked long hours.
He would sometimes do night calls, work on weekends, working H vac. He would come, like, sweaty and hot, covered in dust.
So tired, physically exhausted, I'm sure.
Why does that make me emotional? It makes me emotional.
That wear and tear on him was just something that I'll never forget.
I know how tired he was. He had like an ACL tear at one point. He like delayed surgery for years because it would have taken him out of work.
He would run his hands under hot water for minutes just so they could relax and he can open them.
Being able to help, that was really the driving force behind why we started servicing.
We kind of looked at each other and we said, let's build software to help our parents better operate their businesses.
When I first heard about Service Titan, I immediately thought about my own family.
