A short discussion for customer-facing employees on preventing customer objections through proactive communication, empathy, and relationship-building rather than trying to 'combat' objections. Emphasizes reassuring language, ownership, and human connection (e.g., offering financing for price concerns) to reduce objections before they arise.
I wanted to talk about objections. And in your opinion, what are some ways customer facing employees can prevent objections instead of combating them? Which I believe when we first chatted, you were like, I don't like the term combating objections.
A lot of times people are like, well, how do I overcome price? How do I overcome scheduling? How do I overcome all these things? Well, right here, we'll just put a plug. Like, we know financing is a great way to help with that pricing that people see. But I love to think about ways to prevent objections from happening. And it's really just in the communication we have up front. If you're thinking about it, what could I do to create a good relationship with this person? What can I do to show up as my best self and show empathy and bring that human connection into it and not just treat people like a number? People truly do have concerns about things. But if you do a good job up front of just really reassuring people that we'll take good care of you, you've called the right place, those type of things. And that type of language is a great way for people to just feel confident that, hey, this person's taking ownership.
