Timid, safe, being careful never inspired anyone. People don't get excited about any of that. They get excited about bold things, about new things, about dramatic things, about big steps. Daniel Burnham said, make no little plans for they have no power to stir men's blood. Right? Make big plans, these things. When you make big plans, when you swing out, when you say what you really want, people get excited about that. We are all too used to playing safe in some area of life, maybe a lot of areas of life, maybe all too often where you actually go for what you really want. It's a little bit like tapping into that inner five year old, right? That, that exuberant kid who just wants things, who is playful, who went for it, who wasn't afraid to say what they wanted in life. And mostly as we grow up, that gets shut down. It gets shut down when kids make fun of us on the playground. It gets shut down when that girl or guy said no to our ask them then to dance or to go out or that kind of thing. It gets shut down when we get shut down around business in some area. So we learn to play it safe, to be calculated, strategic. Except that's not exciting. It's not exciting to anyone else, it's not exciting to you. The way to break through that is to be bold, to say what you really want, to get in touch with that five year old within you that's still there, that remembers that. Get in touch with that want. Be bold, swing out, do something exciting that'll light people up, that'll light up you, that'll light up your team. But you've got to set aside your fears. You've got to set aside a lifetime of suppressing stuff to be more responsible. I hope that's been helpful. It certainly made a huge difference in my life.
