A short podcast episode (Bill Gallagher) arguing that creating a company manifesto (purpose, values, vision, and a BHAG) is a fast, powerful way to ingrain culture and scale a business. Gallagher gives practical deployment ideas—posting, recitation in huddles, reflecting in meetings—and encourages daily conversation about relevance. The episode also includes sponsor endorsements for DoxaTalent (staffing) and Align’s Scoreboard software (goal/KPI tracking).

So growing and scaling your company is a lot easier if you have a powerful culture. We talked last time about having a great culture. Some of the elements, the times that build it. One of the most powerful things you can do is create a manifesto. I've also talked about this in the past, but a manifesto is a great way to ingrain the elements of culture deeply into people on a very rapid basis. And there are a lot of different ways of doing this. But very simply, you could create a manifesto that includes these elements and, and then you could post it and recite it on the regular. So here's, here's a quick, easy way to create a manifesto. First of all, describe your purpose, right? What is the purpose of coming? What do you actually care about? Why are you in this business, this particular kind of business? What do you care about, right? What you care about is that purpose. It's an emotional heart of something. You could describe even the future for the business, the vision in either first or second order there. Then how do you do things, right? The values of the company, what do you promise the customer? And then you could include also a big, hairy, audacious goal. Jim Collins term for a 10 year transformational goal. If you include all of that, people are left with why you do what you do, where you're going towards, how you're going to get there, what, what the experience should be for the people who benefit from it, and a destination, a particular target. And that's pretty powerful, right? Those things all working together are pretty powerful. So that creates a great manifesto. Now you could print it, you could give people wall displays, you could post it around your office, you could put it at your reception counter, you could recite it in your daily huddles and in your weekly meetings. You could reflect on its relevance and what parts of it are alive and real or even challenging for a day. You could create a conversation around that manifesto. That's a daily, recurring kind of conversation that will transform the business and make your life much easier as you try to scale. Hope that's been helpful. We'll talk to you again next time. Keep Scaling.
