How do we navigate the times when God's purposes conflict with our expectations of him? A lot of conflict in our personal relationships, especially in our marriage, is based around something similar, right? Those unmet expectations, right? We expected them to do XYZ and they didn't do it. And so now we're bitter, right? Or now we're upset and we're harboring this resentment. Because we have these unmet expectations. Well, do you ever feel that way towards God? Do you ever have that resentment because you've just got these expectations? God, your word says— we go to church and we're singing these songs, but I'm not seeing it, right? Amen.
