Billy Sticker talks about the struggle to stay mentally present when work bleeds into home life. His wife Rusty has to close his laptop to get his attention, and he leaves his phone at home during dinner to actually be there.

There's a saying, you know, wherever you are, be there.
100%.
And too often we're at work and we're thinking about home, and then we're at home thinking about work. And it's like being able to be there. I have an issue with this because we work from home and because I, I love it. Like all of the new stuff with AI and the things we're doing, it's— I'm taking it all in and I'm doing these things and I'm building. So even when we do travel, I may get up a little bit early and I may go do this, or, you know, got my laptop with me, I'm doing this. And sometimes Rusty, you know, we've been married 30 years, she's like, hey, hey, and she'll just like shut the lid on the laptop. It's not going anywhere. It's gonna be there.
Yes.
It's gonna be there later. And so being able to be present, or, you know what, you're absolutely right, we're here. And so now even times we'll go to dinner, I leave my phone at the house. I don't even bring it with me, you know? And sometimes she'll ask me something. Oh, my— I didn't bring my phone. Oh, you just forgot it? No,
no,
no. I want to be here. I want to be here with you.
