How To Use Social Media Marketing

Billy Sticker walks through a four-step funnel for social media marketing: start with a broad audience, narrow to your target community, identify their main problem, then create content that solves it. He recommends setting up on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and blogs, focusing on building relationships rather than pushing sales.

Hey, guys, Billy Sticker here. We're going to talk today about social media. We've all heard about it, and as a small business owner or a business owner, you're probably wondering how exactly do I use social media in my business or is it even possible? Well, the answer is yes. I mean, there, right now, there are hundreds and hundreds and thousands of customers or clients out there, companies, whether it's Coca Cola, all these Fortune 500 companies, great big companies using social media. And then you have your local mom and pop operations. Whether it's a consultant or these small companies, you can definitely use social media. But there's a right and a wrong way to do it. So let's talk a little bit about some of the social media that you would want to use. The five main types of social media right now that are the biggest and the most popular, this is from a report that was done recently by a social media examiner, is Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and then blogs. So right now, the first thing that you want to do is make sure you have an account set up with each of these, there's several different ways you can set up your own blog. Hopefully on your website you have one already. Get a LinkedIn account, YouTube account, Facebook and Twitter. All those are free to set up. As a matter of fact, even setting up a blog can be free. But you really need all of those areas. Those are the five different things we're going to look at. But what we're going to to talk about is how do you actually use it? What are some things that you can do as far as putting together a plan that's going to benefit your business? Here's the thing. You get online and there are literally millions of people on Twitter and Facebook. Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and reading different blogs and stuff out there. I mean, there are people who run blogs that make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year just writing blogs from their house. But let's talk about how you use this for your. Okay, well, the first thing we have up here is you've got the crowd, okay? This is just all the people on the Internet that use these different social sites, okay? We don't need the crowd. We're actually looking for your customer, your market. So what we want to do is kind of take from the crowd that's out there and we want to find the community. We want you to build community. Now the community that you want to build is going to be you're following people and people following you, especially like on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and watching your YouTube videos we want these people to be. Your community is simply going to be your market, your target market or customer. That's what this is going to be. So we're going to put your market, so that's actually the community. So you've got the crowned. Okay, we want to go through the crown and we want to pick out those that should be in your community. All right? And then from the community, what we want to do is find out what is their biggest concern. Okay, with concern, what we're talking about here is your target market. The way you serve that market is by meeting the need. Alright, so your community, what is their concern? Okay, what's one of the biggest problems, problems that you can help them solve? Okay, so you got the crowd, we want to go through the crowd to find the community. Then we're going to deliver some content. It's going to be. The solution to this problem. Okay? Now this may not be the total solution, but this, this is going to be things that they can do to help solve this problem. Great example, this video right here, this video is content directed at my community or the community out there of people that I want to help serve. What's one of your concerns? If you're watching this video, your concern, one of your problems is how to use social media effectively for your business. So crowd, community, concern and then content. Now look at this, we're going to look at it like a funnel. What we want inside of this funnel, kind of make that supposed to look like the top of a funnel, is we want to get these people in, into here, okay, going to go through, find your community, your market, what are the concerns and then the content. So when you're thinking of social media, there should be no hard selling, no hard closing, hey, call now, you know, come buy from me. It should be social. If you go to a social event, okay, you think friends, you think fun, you think, you know, building relationships, some networking here, but that's the same thing with these sites. Okay, Twitter and Facebook, a lot of you guys are familiar with Facebook. All of you may not be familiar with Twitter. Familiar with Twitter, same thing with LinkedIn. LinkedIn is a lot more kind of business to business type situation here, but it's still a very, very huge networking site. Obviously YouTube is for videos and then blogs is for you writing different articles and things that hopefully some of this content down here. So the content portion is actually going to be YouTube videos, videos just like this, or short videos that help them solve their problems. And also it could be blog posts, You know, different Articles that you could write or videos or maybe you could actually do both. So on these sites, what you do is you find your community and you start interacting with that community, they start realizing who you are. Then you start posting, hey, you want to know how to use for this social media for your business, for advertising for your business. If that's a concern you have, hey, I put together a short world video. So I send you over to YouTube, you watch this video and maybe I also send you to a blog post. So now you've got some content that helps me solve or helps you solve a problem. And then hopefully all of this they'll realize, man, this is pretty good content. I want more from this person. They want more from you because you've been delivering good quality content and they start spending money. So spending money, they become a customer. So that's kind of the funnel that you want to think, think about anytime you're thinking of how to use social marketing for your business. So you've got the community which you're going to go through and find on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and then you're going to deliver good quality content through YouTube videos and blog posts that's going to lead them in this content. You can actually have call my office, go to my website, a more call to action type course on here and then they'll come down to become your customers. So you have the, the crowd, the community, what's their concern? What's the content that you can give them to help with that concern and then let's turn them into a customer. Hope you enjoyed this video, man. Find me on Facebook. It's just facebook.com search for Billy sticker and you'll find more of these. I'm going to do more videos like this and some more blog posts just like I'm teaching right here to help get you some more information. Appreciate it.
