Billy Sticker argues the whale story takes up only three verses in Jonah, barely a fraction of the book. The real point of the narrative lies elsewhere, not in the famous fish episode most people remember.

So often we hear Jonah being swallowed by the whale. It's positioned as the most important part of the whole book, and that's arguably the least important part of the whole book. As a matter of fact, in, in the entirety of the Bible, there's 3 scriptures that talk about it. It's Jonah 1:17. And we're going to read these in a minute, Jonah 2:1 and Jonah 2:10, like 3 verses that talk about it. That's literally it. It's not the whole book of Jonah. It's not even a chapter. It's those 3 verses.
