44 Minute Boxing Pilates Fusion I Momentum Day #14
Day 14
March 15, 2022
44 minutes
3-pound dumbbells
Hey, everybody. I'm Amy from Bodyfit by Amy. And this is your boxing Pilates fusion workout. This is day 14 of your Momentum challenge. We are gonna get moving with some boxing intervals, and then we will add some blocks of Pilates. Starting standing, then taking it to the mat. We'll be alternating between the two to keep it interesting. And you can go all body weight or you can add a set of very light dumbbells to your Pilates blocks. Otherwise, you don't need any equipment, just some space to move. And of course, I will give you lots of options to work to your level. Are you ready? Let's do it. Okay, so let's start just with a little bit of a march or a jog if that feels better for you. Roll those shoulders to the back and to the front. We'll just start just by getting the blood flowing, getting the muscles warm, getting ready to work in that boxing format, fusing it with that Pilates format. So let's get the muscles going. Big deep breath in here and out. One more just like this and out. And I want you just to take it nice and wide and just little taps, open it out here. Little taps open up the chest and shoulders here. Kind of warming up for those standing Pilates moves. And then we'll warm up with some punches as we get ready for those boxing moves. So here is how it is going to work today. Boxing Pilates fusion. Let's roll through our backs. Let's take it flat down and round it up. So full body workout. We're gonna get cardio. We will get strength and toning, and we will get that energy up right. Hold it here. So if you don't love boxing, if you don't love Pilates, don't worry, because everything is going to be in 5 minute block. Tell yourself you only have to get through five minutes at a time. No repeat workout, which I know you love. I love. Walk it in, round it up, and then tap, reach across. So in those five minute blocks, we'll get five minutes of some punches and kicks, five minutes of some standing Pilates, then we'll do it again, and then our last Pilates blocks will be down on the mat. More of your traditional matte Pilates. And again, if you have a set of lighter dumbbells, feel free to use them in those Pilates sections. I'll be using my 3 pound dumbbells for Pilates. I know some of you like to use them for your boxing intervals as well. I don't normally do that because we move pretty Quickly. But if you have something lighter, like one to two or even three pounds, feel free to do that. I wouldn't recommend it with anything heavier than that because those punches move fast. It can put some pressures on the shoulder and the neck. So if you are going to do it heavier, I would want you to take it a little bit slower. So speaking of, let's get a little warm up through our boxing. Start with that little boxer shuffle. You're just side to side. You can shift your weight low impact or you can bounce it. Let's start center. We won't worry about that South Pollen Orthodox just yet. Guard is up. We're here. And let's start forward facing just your jabs. Here we go. Jab. So this is just our warm up to refresh our memory or to get into those punches. Remember that guard is always up, core is in tight, chest lifted. And then as you come back with those punches, you're pulling back just as much as you're punching forward. Let's go uppers, upper. Normally we'll be staggered one side or the other. Our orthodox in our South Pole. But we'll keep it forward for the warm up. Uppercut comes up and through. Yes. Let's take it to some hooks. Up and around. Hook comes up and around. It's your side head of the punch. Right side punch to the head. Yes. Four, three, two. Little squat. We're gonna do a squat and a knee. I know this is getting that heart pumping, but it is that warm up. Let's refresh our memory with that kick. Keep it slow. Squat, pull it forward. And on this front kick, you can either point the toe like that Snap kick. Or you can push forward with the heel as if you're pushing your opponent away. Let's take it to the side. Squat and lift. Lift. First lift from the hip. Right core is engaged. Side kick again. You can snap it pointed toe. Or push it through as if you're pushing away. Four more. Four, three. Nice and slow. Two, one. Let's stretch it out right here with those little toy soldier kicks. All right, we're gonna move into our first boxing round. Remember, we only have five minutes. We get about 30 seconds to a minute. In between our blocks of boxing and Pilates, we'll get some heart pumping, cardio. Just touch it. And then we will get some toning with that Pilates. It's all gonna feel good. You're gonna be working the whole time again. No, repeat. We're just getting through five minutes at a time. All right, so boxer shuffle, zip Up. That core. Guard is up. Stagger one side. Doesn't matter which one. Here we go. Jabs. Starting your first five minutes, just your jabs. You can pivot on the knees and the hips. Watch me. Here, here, here. Core. If you want, pick up your pace. Jab, jab, or jab and cross, however you spin it. Here we go. 8, 7, 6, 4, 3, 2. Watch me here. Slow jab, jab, jab. Two knees up front. Knee. One more time. Slow jab, jab, jab. 2. Knees to the front, but pull it in. Pick up your pace if you want. Jab, jab, jab, jab, knee. Four, three, two, one. Yes. Up to you. If you want to take it slower or lower impact, just pull it in. Yes. Four, three, two. One. Two more. Last one. Hold your knees right here. You can take them slow or fast. Up to you. We're gonna keep this knee. Three, knee, one, punch, right? Three, two, one, punch. Three, two. Think about that core. Then strong punch. Lean into it. Power jumping if you want. Three, two, one, punch. Three, two, one. Two more. Last one. Good. Jump rope it here. Nice and light. Your jump rope can be here or here. Through the center. We're gonna get all of that on that other side. Zip up in that core. Guard is up. Jabs. Here we go. Up jab and cross or two jabs. One marks you punch. Nice and light. Pull back. Yes. Breathe. Good. Speed it up if you want. Make them strong. Yes. Get the feet moving. 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 4. Punches. Two knees. Four slow. 3, 2, 2. Knees up. Strong. One more slow. 4, 3, 2, 2. KNEES. Keep it here or up to speed. Here we go. 4, 3, 2, 1. 4, 3, 2, one. Low impact is here. High impact. You can really turn into it. And power up those knees. 4, 3, 2, 1. If you don't feel coordinated, don't worry. None of us do. Two more. That's not the point. The point is to move. Last one. Hold those knees. You know what I always say? Be where you are today. Got slow, knees are fast. Doesn't matter. Three knees, one jab. Three, two, one. Three, two, one. You can power it up with a little jump. Yes. Or keep it low. Four more. Yes. Last two, one more. Watch me here. Jabs to the front. Little bounce. One side only. Keep it going. Low impact. Little weight shift or little bounce. Let's double time it. Here we go. If you're here, you can just keep it nice and light, all right? 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. Jump rope. Let's get those single jabs on the Other side. Then. Our five minutes is almost done here, guys. Zip up that core. Here we go. Yes. Single jab to the front. Grounded, low impact. Little boxer shuffle. Bounce. Keep it going. Double time. Finish strong. Here we go. Quick feet or slower. Keeping that bounce. Yes. Breathe. 8, 7, 6, 6, 5, 4, 3. Jump rope. 4, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, three, two. Tap it out and breathe. That's all we got, folks. Five minutes at a time. Super quick. As long as you're moving, that is all I care about. You know what I always say. You showed up today. You are successful. So I know we don't always feel coordinated, but as long as you are doing the movement safely and you're moving, that's all that matters. Grab a sip of water. Bend your knees to get it. Okay? No, repeat. Standing Pilates with or without those weights. So I'm gonna grab my light threes. It's up to you. You can always drop them in between. You don't have them. You can use some soup cans or some water bottles or no weight at all. Body weight is gonna work just as well. So zip up in that core. We're gonna start with those arms up top. We're gonna step open into that plie. Squeeze it in. Our goal is to keep those arms up. Shoulders, back, core. Zip. Step low, squeeze in inner thighs and squeeze with those arms. Ready? Here we go. Take it out. Squeeze it in. Take it out. So if using these dumbbells, it's starting to feel too heavy for you. You feel like those shoulders are dropping or you're really up into those ears. Then I want you to do it without. You're fine. Just nice and precise. Take it out. Squeeze it in. Inner thighs. Yes. Breathe. Good. Four more. Four, three, two. Good. Hold it here. Lift the heels. Yes. Four, three. Hold them out. Right here into the shoulders. Cores engaged. Stay low if you can. I know. Four more. Four, three, two. Turn to the side. Right here. Drop it down and up. So a little half lunge up to you. If you want to, just tap it. That works too well. If you can get low, keep those dumbbells in. Get ready. We're gonna press them. Here we go. Down and up with the Pilates again. If you don't feel coordinated, don't worry. Just pick one thing and do it. Or hold. That works too. 3, 2. Good. Hold it here behind your head. Nice and staggered. Elbows in. If you got just that body weight, push those hands towards each other. Four, three, two, one. Hold it here. In and out. Standing. Crunch. Breathe. Bring that chest in. Four more. Four, three, two. Good. Tap it out right here. We're gonna do all of that on the other side. We're gonna make it quick. We're gonna step out on that plie. We're gonna open out this time, palms up, with or without those dumbbells we were here before. This time we're gonna keep it out. A little more of that back. Grab those weights if you got them. Other side. Here we go. Take it out. And squeeze. And squeeze again. That starts to feel too heavy, or you feel like you're dropping here or up here. Body weight works too. Just really precise. Squeeze it in. Squeeze in the back, Squeeze in the chest. Eight. Seven. Yes. Six. Five. Four. Three. Two. Hold it out. Lift those heels up. Yes. Core engage. 4, 3, 2. Lift them up right here. In and out. Yes. Breathe. Arms, legs, and abs. Four more. Four, Three, two. Good. Turn it here. Drop it down and up. Weights at the chest or hands of the chest to keep it engaged. Again. If you're just tapping, that works too. Breathe. Good. Add a little press. Here we go. Down and up. Very slow and controlled. No need to rush this. I want you to use the legs, use the arms. Drop it low for four. Three, two. Hold it up. Behind the head. Down and up. Elbows in. Again. If you're using body weight, push those hands together. Here we go. 4, 3, 2. Good. Bring it in. 4, 8. Standing crunch. 7. One minute to go. 6, 5. 4. 3, 2, 1. Take it here. In side. Take it. Plie. Side. Finish it strong. Strong arms. Yes. Four more. Four, and turn. Three, two. Last one. Good. Bring it up. Eight. Behind the head. Seven. Elbows in. Six. Core and tight. One foot back if you need it. Four, three, two, one. Relax. Dumbbells out of the way. You did a team. Who's feeling that heart rate on that, too, right? That standing Pilates will get you those bar type moves. So tap it out. Grab a quick sip. We're gonna go back to that boxing. You are doing it, team. Breathe. All right, so relax your body. Give your hands a little break. You got 30 seconds to breathe. You can jog it out if you want to keep it going. Or take it to that boxer shuffle. We're gonna go to those uppers. We're gonna stagger one side. Watch me. First, we're gonna start slow, then we'll speed it up. Then we're gonna go to our hooks. Then we're gonna take it to a little combo. Upper, upper, hook. We're gonna squat it down. We're gonna go a side kick forward. It's gonna make sense once we get there, Go ahead and come. In that boxer shuffle. Let's bring that guard up, starting with your uppers. Five minutes. Here we go. Upper, upper. Start slow. Come from your hip. Engage that core release. Really focus on this form as we're slow. If you want, speed it up. Right here? Yes. Don't worry what it looks like. Just punch it. 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. Take it hooks. We're coming. Slow. Up and around, right? Yes. There we go. Hook, hook. Four, three, two. Speed it up if you want. These are a little tougher, so just get them in there. Three, two. Uppers. Upper, upper, hook. Squat it down. Join me. Upper, upper, hook and down. Upper, upper, hook. Think of it as a duck instead of a squat. Four more. Slow. Upper, hook and duck. Yes. One more. Good. Add that cake. Pick it up. Upper, upper, hook, squat kick. Upper, upper, hook, squat kick. If that feels like too much, you just pick one. Just do the punches. Upper, upper, hook. Or just do the squat and kick. It's okay. I even get confused. I know. Upper, upper, hook. Last one. Upper, upper, hook. Hold your squat, squat side kick looks like this. Again. You can pop it with that pointed toe or push it out. Four, three, two. Bob and weave. Right here. It's a little slip, little bob and weave, right? So you're getting under as if you're a boxer, right? Eight, seven. Make your way to that other side. Four, three, Upper. Slope. Here we go. Upper, upper. Focus on how precise you can be with those punches. With that core. Engage turning the knees and the hips. That's what gets your heart pumping. Speed it up if you want. Upper, upper. You can keep those feet grounded or pick them up. Yes. Eight, seven. Six. Five, four, three, two. Here we go. Hook. Slow. Up and around. Yes. For four. Three, two. Double time. We'll make it fast. Hook, hook. I know these hooks are a little tougher. Four, three, two. Upper. Slow. Upper, upper, hook. Squat. Upper, upper, hook. Duck it. Yes. Four more. Here we go. Upper, upper and down. Last two. Last one. Good. Double time. Here we go. Upper, upper, hook, squat kick. Upper, upper, hook. Squat, side kick. Again. Up to you if you want to keep it. Just the punches or just the punch and squat, or just the squat and kick. Up to you. Squat and kick. Upper, upper, hook. Yes. Two more. Last one. Hold that squat and kick. Remember, it can be a push kick or a snap. Almost like a roundhouse, right? You're stepping into it. Four more. Four, three, two. Good. Bob and weave to the front, right. Four, three. Take it up. Speed bag right here. You can march it or you can shuffle it. High to low. High, low, high, low or up down. 15 seconds. Keep it going. Low impact or high? Yes. Roll those hands. Four more. Four, three, two, one. Tap it out. Breathe. Right. Five minutes down, guys. We are moving through this workout. I know. No, repeat. Catch your breath. Grab some water. Keep it moving if you can. Little taps. Ah. All right, team, one more time. Standing Pilates, and then we'll do a few things on the mat. All right, here we go. So you tap it out or jog it out, boxer shuffle or jump rope. Whatever works for you. You got about 20 seconds. We're gonna start in a little curtsy curl. So we're here. We're here. Then we're gonna do some little taps out. Then we're gonna do some side knees. Then we'll do all of that on the other side, but with our palms turned in. Taps out, side knees. All right, we'll get through it quickly. Standing Pilates. We have time. We'll throw a plank in there at the end. Ready? Here we go. So curtsy curl. If that bothers your knee, I just want you to tap back. If you can get really low or you can take it to a regular lunge if that feels better. But if you want to reduce your range of motion and not get as low, that works too. Breathe. Pull to your chest. I know that's light for a curl, but don't worry, we're gonna make them feel it. Breathe. Yes. Four more right here for four. Three, two. Good. I want you to hold it here. Little pulses. You can be up if you need that little breather, or you can drop it down. Watch me here. Take it out, squeeze it in, take it out. Open up the chest. And as you're ready, if you're ready, tap, tap. If that feels like too much work for your brain, you just keep the arms. Yes, for four. Three, two. Good. Hold it out right here. Pulse. Squeeze. Four, three, two. Take it up right here. Side knee. Hold this one out if you can. If you need to rest it here or grab onto the wall. Pull that elbow to knee. Yes. Breathe. Four, eight. Who's feeling that heart rate? I know I am. Five, four, three, two. Yes. Tap it out. I know I cheated a little on that last one. Catch your breath. Roll your shoulders. Zip up in that core. Get ready. Same thing. Other side. The palms are turning in this time. Curtsy and curl. Ready? Here we go. And nice and slow. No need to rush. I know in these fusion workouts, it's hard to kind of Slow it down for that flexibility, mobility, because we get going so fast in the cardio and strength, especially with boxing. Remember, you can just tap or regular lunge or regular tap if that feels better. Palms turned in towards the shoulders. Yes. Get low if you can. And again. Body weight. You're just bringing it up. Four, three, two. Yes. Good. Hold it here. Take it out and in. Remember, you can be standing if you need to, but if you can, stay low. Four more. Four, three, two. If you want, tap. And here we go. Tap. Breathe. Yes. One or the other is fine. You do you. You showed up today. You are successful. That is all that matters. 3, 2, yes. Hold it up. Pulses. 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. Take it out right here. I'm gonna hold it here or up. Up to you or in or balance on the wall or the chair or the couch. Whatever you get. Keep it going. Getting shoulders, arms, and core. Breathe. Here we go. Last eight. Seven, six, five, four, three, two. Good. Tap it out right here. Yes. We got one minute. Let's make it good. Watch me. Turn to the side. Little taps. Push and tap. Push and tap. Core is engaged and zipped up. Back is flat. We're not here. Really? Pull those shoulder blades back. Push the weights or your body weight to the ceiling. 4. 8. Yes. 7. If you got body weight, push the air away. 4. More like this. 4, 3, 2. Good. Hold it up right here. Little lifts. One or the other is fine. If you just want to do arms or you just want to do legs or together. Eight. Seven, six, Five, four. Three, two. Switch your legs. Pulse them in. Pulse it up. Looks like this. Totally fine. Just to do one. Eight. Seven, six, five, four, three, two. Relax. I know, guys. We've been a little bit over our five. That's okay. Water. You got a minute to breathe. Hopefully you felt a good little burn. Our last collab is going to focus on that core core. One more boxing. One more Pilates, guys. Whoo. Breathe. All right, Catch your breath. Shake it out. You can do that boxer shuffle. You can do that jump rope. You can do jumping jacks. Whatever you got for 30 seconds. We are in our last two rounds, team, so stay with me here. We're gonna start with a little speed bag cross. So Speed bad for 4. Cross it and cross it. 4, 3, 2. Cross low, cross center or cross center, Cross low. Whichever I did. All right, are we ready? Zip it up. Stay center. Ready? Start slow. 3, 2, 1. Cross center, cross low, center. Here we go. Speed bag, speed bag. Cross center, cross low. Up to speed. If you want 3, 2, 1, center. 3, 2, 1, center. 3, 2, 1, cross. Yes. 3, 2, 1. Up to you if you want to keep it nice and slow or really pick it up. Or three, two, one. Yes. You got it. Three, two, one, cross and low. Three, two, one. Three, two, one. One more. Hold it here. Bounce it or shift your weight. Up to you. Good. Watch me here. Speed bag and hook. Speed bag, high, hook, if you want. Speed bag, hook, high, hook, low. Speed bag, hook, high, hook, low. Speed bag, high, low. Yes. Keep it going. Hook and hook. High and low. One more. See, I'm not coordinated either. Hold it up. Keep it going. Bounce it up. Four, three, two. Squat it down. Down and up. Yes, I know. Good. Front kick, squat kick, squat kick. If you want, you can just take it center, pull those kicks through. They can be high or low. Doesn't matter. Again. Push kick or snap kick. 8. Squat is optional. Breathe. Yes. 4, 3, 2. Good. Speed back here. Take it up. This one's got that guard. Again. You can be just shifting your weight, or you can be bouncing it. I know it feels a little weird. You might feel a little uncoordinated, but don't worry about it. Let's add that one hook. Here we go. Speed bag, high. Hook, center. Speed bag, center. Yes. The trick with the speed bag is don't think about it. Add that second hook. Speed bag, hook, high. Hook, low. Speed bag, hook, high. Hook, low. That low hook is a body shot, right? Think of it. Here we go. Four more. Okay. Hook, low. Three more. Head, body. Two more. Last one. Take it up. Yes. Four, three, two. Squat it down. Right here. Yes. Breathe. We are so close to being done with boxing. Front kick, down kick. Four more. Four. Or just your kick? Two. Good. Turn it. Jabs. Jab, jab, jab. Double four, three. Stay here. Upper, slow, upper, upper, double. Four, three, two, Hook, slow. Hook, hook, double. Four, three, two. Bob and weave. Turn it. Other side. We're gonna finish it out here. Jab, slow. Here we go. Four, three, two, double four, three, two. Uppers, double. Four, three, two. Hooks. Yes. Double four, three, two. Bob and weave. Yes. Four, three, jack and jab. Right here. Jack, jab, low. Impact is here. Finish it out. You got 20 seconds. Whatever you got. You want to take it a little quicker or a little slower? Just Finish it out. 10. Yes. Breathe. 4, 3, 2, 1. 3. Nice work, team. All right. Catch your breath. Oh, man. You can do it. We're taking it down to the mat, so give yourself a little breather. Grab a quick sip of water. Let's take it starting onto our back, guys. All right, we're gonna keep it nice and slow and controlled. Get a little hamstring stretch if you need it. Go down onto your side first, then onto your back. Grab those dumbbells if you want them. You're gonna have some options with them. Otherwise, you can just keep it. It's gonna be a lot of core, but I'm gonna give you options. So we're gonna start here with those dumbbells up or with those hands. Right up. We're gonna go into our bridge. Breathe. And then we're gonna add, if we want, a little fly and a little triceps. You can keep the movement going. Hold them up. Here we go. Bridge lift. And lower on this. Whether or not you have the weights, I want you to think about those arms straight up and contract it. Not loose here or here. Really tight. And really zip up in the core. Pull those abs together. Knit that core together. So hips coming towards each other, ribs coming towards each other. Navel to spine, if you want. Right here. We're gonna take it up, take it out. Fly. Take it up, take it down. Tries. Up, out, fly, squeeze. And down. Up to you. If you want. You can still get the arms nice and tight. Four more. Four? Yes. Three. Last two. One more. Good. And relax wherever you are. Bring one foot up. Get a little stretch right there. Yes, Good. So if you need to modify, I just want you to do this and this. Especially my prenatal mamas or early postpartum, still healing a diastasis recti. Or you can lift those shoulders. Anybody else who needs to modify or take it here? Ready? Scissors. Pull it in. So if you're in that pre early post group, maybe not the scissors. Just stretch the legs and get that movement. Everybody else, take it here. Flex that foot. Think about everything pulling in. Can you take it elbow to knee? Now that we got that stretch? Good. Four more. Four. Three, two, one. Hug them in and relax. Breathe. Roll over to that side with one dumbbell. I'm gonna show it to you without the dumbbells. First, we're gonna come up on that hand. I want you to do a nice big reach. And then pull that knee in and then take it down. You can stay on the knee, or you can take it all the way up. Knee in. And down. That's hard to do. So with or without the dumbbell? With or without the knee? Ready? Here we go. Big reach. Knee in. Sweep it down. We're all the way up. Knee in. Sweep it down. Or all the way up? Knee In. Sweep it down. Up. Yes. See if I can do it here. 4 and breathe. 3. Very slow and controlled, especially if you have that weight. Last two. One more. Yes. Relax. Swing those legs around to that other side. Get into it. Get that little stretch zip, dip up in that core. Ready? Here we go. Take it up knee. Sweep it down. Take it up knee. Or same thing with or without the weight. Good. And breathe. Yes. Four more right here. Four. Really lift. Think about that core coming in. Three, two. Last one up and relax. Good. Come into that all four position. Stretch it back. Breathe. We're here. Let's think about that bird dog. We're gonna lift and lower. Stay here, especially if you're pre post doctor. Or bring it up in between. Lift and down. Or lift, lift. Because it's hard to do. Four and up. Three or two and one. Stretch it back. Last thing here, guys. Let's finish it out with that core. Pre post doctor. I just want you to do little tap backs, little tap backs. Everybody else on those elbows, knees. Here we go. Drop the knees. And up pike and up. Knees and up. All we got is 10, 10 more seconds so you can do it. Finish it out. Yes. Last one. Good. Let's get one bonus. And relax. Stretch it back. Oh, man, you did it. Breathe. Relax in those shoulders. Let your head and neck relax in that. Open up the knees and the hips. How do you feel, guys? No. Repeat. Right? Love those. Come up onto all fours. Round through the back and shoulders. Breathe. Yes. Good. And if you can come into that pigeon stretch. So we're going to cross the in here. If that feels like too much, you can do either seated on the mat like this or sitting in a chair or off the edge of the couch. But just stretching out that hip, that gets a lot of work, especially with those kicks. Breathe. So hopefully you felt good. I kind of love these boxing workouts where we get the blocks because it moves really quickly. At least to me it does. Rather than we have when we have a full 30 or 40 minutes of boxing, which I know a lot of you guys love. Take those knees out, open up those hips, take those arms forward, chin to your chest. So great if you are feeling that. But some days we just want a little variety, right? We don't want a full 30 minutes of bar pilates with. We don't want a full 30 minutes of boxing. So let's get it all in in these short blocks. So all your brain has to think about is getting through those five minutes at a time, right? So I hope you feel good. I'm so glad that you decided to show up today. That is all that matters is that you are here. I don't care if you look coordinated on that boxing. Who cares? I don't care if you got every move on the Pilates. You were here moving your body. Let's take it up. Little stretch back. So be sure to like this video and subscribe.
