Are Abs Made in Kitchen? The TRUTH About Core Definition

Amy Schemper and BodyFit dietitian Vivian explain that visible abs need both diet and core training. You can't get them from food alone or from training alone, and spot-reduction powders don't work. Core360 combines targeted core work with a nutrition plan.

We are 4 days out from Core 360, my core challenge starting on Monday. So I'm spending the next few days answering your questions and talking about what it really takes to get a strong, defined core. Today I reached out to BodyFit dietitian Vivian to answer this common question: are abs really made in the kitchen?
Great question, and yes, but also not exactly. Nutrition absolutely plays a role in how visible your abs are. If your goal is definition, what you eat can influence body fat levels, and that can make muscles more or less visible. But here's where people get it twisted. You can't eat your way to a six-pack. Abs are muscles, and muscles need to be trained. So if you're only focusing on food and skipping core training, you might lose weight, but you're not actually building strength, stability, or function, and you will likely not see the definition and look that you hope for. On the flip side, if you train your core all day every day, but if you're not paying attention to your intake, you might not get get the results that you hope for either. So the real answer? It's both. Strong, functional, defined abs come from smart, consistent training and proper nutrition. And while we're at it, no, there are no magic supplements or powders that will give you abs or torch belly fat, okay? There's a lot of confusion when it comes to core definition, ab training, what to eat, what to avoid, and that's exactly why Core360 exists. Amy is training your core the correct way, from deep stability to strength to definition, and I give you an exact nutrition roadmap to stop guessing what to eat and actually build your core from the inside out. And we get real clear about what you need and what you don't to achieve the results that you hope for. We start Monday.
