A short instructional YouTube monologue (March 2024) guiding viewers through mobility and stretching exercises to relieve back tightness and tension. The speaker demonstrates a sequence including the inchworm, cat–cow, 90/90 hip switch, downward dog into pigeon, and chair modifications for different ability levels—emphasizing spine and hip mobility.
Are you holding tightness and tension in your back? Here are a few quick moves that you can do to release the back, starting with that inchworm. You know, I love this. I put it in a lot of warm ups. We're just going to walk out onto our hands so we get that mobility all through the spine, through the hamstrings, through the calves. Of course, you can modify by walking out to your knees and then coming back up and rolling up the spine. Next, that cat, cow, we're rolling through the spine, really trying to focus on the lumbar spine, that lower back as well. You can modify thigh by placing your hands on the chair, keep a soft bend on the knees and inhale and exhale. Of course, there's our 9090 switch. Believe it or not, the hips play a big role in feeling that tightness and tension in our back. So we want to release the hips. You can modify again from a chair position and then lastly that down dog into pigeon again, stretching through the back of the legs, through the spine, and then of course, opening up the hips. Modify on a chair.
