LIVE 35 Minute Shred & Sculpt with Weights Workout - SHRED #24

A 35-minute live YouTube workout led by Amy (Bodyfit by Amy) focusing on ‘shred and sculpt’ using dumbbells and kettlebells. The session includes warm-up mobility, short circuits (lower-body, upper-body, core) combining two strength moves per block (kettlebell + dumbbell), cardio and mobility segments, a final choose-your-own-adventure repeat, a cooldown/stretch, and a post-workout Q&A/announcements about the upcoming “Sculpt” 25-minute program and the Body Fit Athletic Club.
Get ready. I'm on the boat. Oh, they're on a boat today. Happy Saturday, team. Welcome. Hello. All right. Can you say hi, Lori? Hi, Mariah. Okay, Maya. Okay. Thank you. Okay. Always crazy. Maya, you're headed. Thank you. All right, team, I'm Amy from Bodyfit by Amy. This is my production team. They are crazy, but they are lots of fun. Today we are going to be working with weights, dumbbells and kettlebells. 35 minutes, okay? Okay, okay. Go with daddy. Go with daddy. Hey, Charlotte is here. K Dr. CJ. Welcome, everybody. Hey, Linda. Let's do this. We are extra energized today. We're gonna be getting it done. Hey, Paula is here. Tammy. Hi. Stephanie is here. Susan is here. Great. All right, team, so today is your shred and sculpt because we are closing out shred. This is it, team. And we are going into sculpt on Monday. I'm going to be talking more about sculpt at the end of this workout. Get excited because it's going to be a fun month. Just like we did. Hey, Laura, Alyssa and Adrian. Just like we did at the end of sweat, we had our summer fit sweat party. This is actually our summer fit shred party. I should have titled it that, but I want to do shred and sculpt going into it. So this is going to be a party just like that workout. If you remember it about a month ago, we had some intervals where we got to choose your own adventure. So that's going to be fun. We're going to be getting it done in short circuits where we break up lower body, upper body, core. We get cardio, we get strength, we get mobility. And then you pick. Hey, Fazi is here. Hey, Amy, Elizabeth and Aaron. Welcome, welcome. All right, I'm gonna give Kurt this foam roller. That was the boat. All right, team, so make sure you have your weights. We are going to be working with our weights today. Kettlebells, dumbbells, use whatever you've got. We'll have some body weight as well. Just make sure you have them close by. Make sure you have your water. I know it is hot for so many of us. It's really hot here in California today, so. Hey, Tanisha. Hi. My is name Lori first live after falling for two years. Welcome, Lori. Hey, Mary Ellen, Angela is here. All right, so you have your weights, you have your water, you have your excited attitude, right? Let's get to it. Let's go ahead and just start moving our bodies. Maria is just popping in to say hi, about to pick up her daughter from a party. Hey, Maria. Hey, honey. So fun to see so many friends from our Body Fit Athletic club be talking about that more at the end of the workout as well. So if you've done a live before, you know that at the end of the live workouts, I usually will grab my computer and take questions from you all. So if you have any questions, we'll spend a few minutes and just chat. Also a time to say hi. So if you can hang out after this 35 minute workout, if you have any questions. And then I'm also going to talk about sculpt. Yes. Mallory says friendly reminder to grab a sweat towel. Thank you for that because I actually when we came in here, I told Kurt he might have to bring me one. Let's reach it down and then reach it up. Hinge it here, reach it up, take it here and up. So little stretch. You can do a little arch of the back if you want. Hey, Natalie is here. Mitzi is here first live for Mitzi. Can you hold it down right here so you can soft bend in the knees, either hands on the ground or hands on your legs. And let's just get a little paddle of your feet. And if you can stay in this position, you're going to take it to a deep squat and extend it up. You don't have to get that low. If that's not right for you, you can just take it here. But basically we want the squat and the extension. So flexion and extension. If you can drop your hips low, take those knees out even better. One more from here. Let's walk our feet back into that high plank. If that's not right for you, take it to your knees or keep it up top and let's take a nice step wide. Reach it up, take it down, step it back. So essentially we're just moving through your world's greatest stretch right through here. Take it up. If that's not right for you, you just stay on your knees and get a little hip stretch reach. Let's get one more each way. Last one right here. Go ahead and step it in and round it up. Let's take it side to side. Little shift through those hips. Mary Allen says her legs are sore. Yes. Chances are if you've been following the calendar and you had your legs in cardio complex yesterday, you're feeling it right flat, back down and round it up. Minor sore too. Flat and up. One more. Let's hold it here. Roll those shoulders right through here and walk it in right here. Round it up. Let's tap and reach across. All right, team, so shred and sculpt, but this is essentially our summer fit shred party. So get excited. We're gonna have a lower body block, then an upper, then a core. We'll have a few compound movement blocks, but here's how it works. We'll have a strength move with our weights. We'll have a cardio move with body weight. Then we'll have a mobility body weight move. And I should say, we're actually gonna have two strength moves. So strength and strength. Same muscle group, but one using a kettlebell, one using a dumbbell. So get excited about that. So two strength moves, cardio, mobility, and then choose your own adventures. I'm here. Is here. Tiara is here. I think I saw Janice up there. Let's cross it right here. So then you choose your own adventure. You pick. What do you need another circuit of? Is it mobility? Is it cardio, is it strength? You pick. We're gonna have a good time today. All right, so there will be a little stretch right here, a fair amount of keep it up going right here. And then step, touch. There will be a fair amount of picking up your weights. So I am going to remind you when you pick them up and put them down that you don't just drop them like this, that you actually set them down. Bend your knees to do it. Yes. I'm sneaking in some deadlifts and some lunges with that. But because we'll be picking up and putting down a lot, make sure that you're doing that carefully. All right, team, so let's start with. With a heavy set of kettlebells. And then. Look at me. I just did that, right? All right, so we're starting with our plie. We're doing a little heel lift, if that works for you, and then come up out of it. All right, Plie. Heel lift. So again, all these moves are going to complement each other, and you're going to have a good time doing. All right, so we got 40 seconds. Weights right here or down in the center. Lie. Heel lift. Here we go. Down, up, and squeeze. Down, up. Yes. Team, we got 40 seconds of everything, so I want you to really control it. If that heel lift is too much, if you're losing your balance with two, take it one and then the other. That works too. You can go down, lift with both, or lift right, then left. Boom. 10 seconds. Squeeze. Last one. Yes. Team, go ahead and bend your knees to set those weights down. We're gonna grab one heavy kettlebell, bend Your knees to get it. We're gonna take it with a side lunge, so we're crossing side to side. I'm gonna keep it stationary so we can really get that burn in those legs. All right, Again, these sets are going to be burners. That's where our shred and our sculpt comes in, but you got it. Are we ready? 3, 2, 1. Side lunge. Take it here. Push it through. If you need a little more movement, you can step into it. Step out of it if you want, but if you can. Yes. Lisa is asking, will this video be saved? All these live workouts stay on the channel, so you know if you can't make it live, you can do it at any time. I know a lot of you do the Saturday lives on a Sunday. A lot of you save them for a day when maybe it's a workout that is shorter and you want to add more. Five seconds. We got five, four, three, two, one. Shake it out. All right, team, set those weights aside. Here's what we got for our cardio. You're gonna keep feeling it, I promise. So you're gonna step it up, step it back. Either like this or jump it up. Jump it back. You can come up on the way back. Try to get low on the way there. 40 seconds. Here we go. So lots of hip openers, right? So it's just out and in if you think about it. Right, left, right, left, right, left, right, or jump and back. Get low and back. Yes. There we go. You can also run it if you don't want to jump it, but you want to pick up your pace. Just stay low. Keep those legs burning. I know. I feel it too. Breathe. Yes. We got 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Here's our mobility team. It's gonna feel like a little bit of cardio, too, but we're gonna take it. Hamstring, Hamstring, if you can. Watch me. If you have that balance, that's challenging for balance. So if that's not right for you, I just want you to go try to touch it. So the idea is that we're opening up through there, opening up our shoulders, getting that heart rate up. So a little active mobility. Here we go. Hey, Sheila. Sheila says she's gonna do this later. Like I said, you can do it at any time. Breathe. So little touch again. The idea is that we're opening up the hip flexors and the quads. That just worked so hard, right? Also those inner thighs. We're keeping the hips open to stretch them out through here. Yes. Team. Jenny and Maria are here. Now let's switch it to the opposite. Take it up, take it up. Right, so we're getting both up. We got five, four, three, two, one. Shake it out. Tamika made it. All right, team, so this is your last round of this circuit. Did I mention that other than the choose your own adventure, this is a no repeat workout. So this time, you pick whatever you want. Do you want that plie, heel raise? Do you want that alternating side lunge? Do you want your cardio, or do you want your mobility? I want to take it with that plie. So join me here if you want 40 seconds, drop it down. So whatever you need. If you want more strength, get that plie, squat, or side lunge. You want cardio out, out. In, in, or jump it up, jump it back. If you want mobility, little hamstring grabs and heel grabs. After this, we grab some water, we take it to some upper body. Squeeze. Yes. And breathe. 10 seconds. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Boom. Bend your knees, catch your breath, quick sip of water. All right, team, so that's what it looks like. We're gonna keep it upper body. This next round. Again, strength and strength, cardio and mobility. All right, so with our dumbbells, go ahead and tap it out right here. You got about a minute. Let's go back to that cardio mobility. Breathe. All right, so your next round, we're gonna start with a medium to lighter set of dumbbells. And here's why you keep it here. Watch me. We're gonna take it to a wide reverse fly. So we're gonna have our dumbbells here. Let me show you. So you can start heavy, but you may need to go a little lighter. We're here. Then we're flipping them in here. Turn them up here, flip them in here. Then we're gonna grab a heavy kettlebell. We'll alternate our roads. Then we're gonna get some boxing. Then we're gonna get some mobility for that upper body. Go ahead and grab a light to medium set of dumbbells. You know what? I'm gonna try my tens. I got those fives there if I need it. Look at this huge mess of weights that I have right here. All right, roll it back, hinge it here. Palms. Here we go. So you're up. Turn them in, take it out. Turn them in. If you only have heavies, you can, of course, bend the elbows a little bit, make it more of a row. But if you can, we want straight out, straight out, soft bend. I'm going here. That Shoulder. Here we go. Keep it up. Flat back so you stay in that hinge position. Squeeze and up. We're just getting a little variety in how we're training those back muscles. Right. You know, I love a good row, the perfect pull motion. But we can go lighter sometimes. Get it right here. 3, 2, 1. Bend your knees. Set them down. All right, One heavy kettlebell. You're gonna alternate. So here's what I want. From the ground, you can either just be here, or if you need to come up in between, zip up that core. Flat back. Here we go. Yes. Thank you. There's my towel guy and my camera guy, sound guy, baby daddy. All of it here. Flat back. Squeezing that shoulder blade again. If you're feeling that hinge, just come up out of it. Bring it back down. Squeeze here to here. Pull from the ground, so you really have to get low. Come up if you need to. 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1. Who felt their legs on that? I know I did. All right, team, let's take it over to the side. Here's what we got. Let's take it with a little bit of boxing. So we're gonna tap out, tap out, tap over, tap over. So cardio. So punch, punch. Strong for the back. Here we go. Punch, punch, punch. High punch. High across, across, high, high. If you're not a kickboxing fan, you can just reach it. That works, too. Out, out, and over. You can pick up that pace a little if you want. Add a little more impact. Totally up to you. What do you need right now? What do you need on this Saturday? Maybe it's here, maybe it's higher. It's you. Three, two, one. And breathe. Shake it out. Mobility. All right, team, here's what we got. We're gonna take it here. Down low. Big stretch up. Big stretch up. Big reach up. Join me here. So it's a hinge. Hinge. One hand down. Big reach, big reach. And then come up out of that hinge right through here. Hinge it down. Reach, reach all the way up. So you notice we are getting a lot of strength with the mobility, and we tend to be getting our heart rates up. Right. Keep it going. Open up. Big stretch. Really open up through that chest. And stretch long through the back. One more reach and reach. And up. Shake it out, team. All right, what do you need for this last round? Do you want to take it with that reverse fly with your alternating row with your punches or with that chest back opener? Up to you. I'm going Punches. Let's get it done. Here we go. 40 seconds. Here, here. Reach over, reach over. Mobility is fine. I got new shoes, team. I'm getting used to them. New shoes, new pants, birthday gift for my siblings. If you're watching, Brett, Kathy, Steph, thank you. Reach it over, take it across. 10 seconds. Why can't you give me for 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Water. All right, team, quick sip of water wherever you are. Maybe you're relaxed. Maybe you did mobility. Maybe that heart rate's up. We're gonna grab a kettlebell. We're gonna do some swings if you prefer. A dumbbell swing if you've got them. If you only have dumbbells, use your dumbbell. We're actually going to start with a deadlift to prep. So heavy kettlebell if you got it, or heavy dumbbells. I want everybody to start. Roll those shoulders back. Just do a few sets. A few sets, A few reps of that hinge of that deadlift, right? Our muscles are already feeling that because we just did those rows and reverse flies in the hinge. But I want you to think about that hinge motion. Everybody start right through here. If you're not already, go ahead and join me here. No intervals. Just try it. You can keep it right there. If you're comfortable with the swing, we're gonna power it up, let it drop. Go ahead and relax for a second. If you know the swing, you're gonna do that hinge. Power it up, lock it out of the top, let it drop. We got 30 seconds. Zip up that core. Shoulders back. Hinge or swing. Three, two, one. Bring it up. Lock out at the top and really push into those feet. Squeeze the armpits. What do I mean when I say that? You're not lifting with your arms, but I want you to try to pull those shoulder blades in as you lock out with the glutes and the hamstrings, legs and core. Pull those shoulder blades back. You're not arching at the top. You're stopping it straight. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. And relax. Drop it down right here, little petal. Right through here. Catch your breath, team. We are taking it to the mat. Make sure you have a kettlebell and some dumbbells close by. Hair is out of control today. Take it down. All right, team, so we're gonna do a little pullover crunch to your knee with your dumbbell. If that is not right for you or it feels like too much, I want you to just keep it. We're going here to here. So, yes, we're sneaking in a little upper back, but don't force that. If you'd rather just keep it here. If you're modifying, I just want you to go with the bridge. And you can still get the arms over with or without the weight. Join me here. Feet up in tabletop, or you're going up in the bridge. We have pull over to the knee. Three, two, one. Take it over. Little lift if you want, with or without the weight. With or without the crunch controlled. Tilt that pelvis so you don't have that big arch in your back. Pull everything in. Extend that leg low if you can. But if you feel too much pull in your back. Keep it a little higher. That works, too. Feel as that weight and your legs. Pull, pull. And then close the core at the top. Three, two, one. And relax. Yes, Team. Then I want you to take it over in that plank position with a kettle bell. You can do a dumbbell, too. We're going to do a drag, so watch me here. You can do it on your knees or your toes. You're going to drag that kettle bell through. Drag it through. Let's keep it up and drag. Either from the plank or the knees. Here we go. Drag it through. Drag it. If it's better for you. Pick it up, Pick it up. Remember, you can be on your knees, too, if that's where you need to be. Or one knee down, one knee up. Breathe. Core engaged. Tilt that pelvis again, making sure that those shoulders stay above the elbows, that we're not leaning back into it here, that we keep it here. Right? Reach through. 5 seconds. 4, 3, 2, and 1. Right to catch your breath right where you are. Let's get some cardio core. What do we love, team? We love a good plank, Jack. We love a good mountain climber. Let's take it with both. So watch me. We're gonna go. Jack, take it up. Climber, take it down. Jack, take it up. Climber, take it down. If that is not right for you, just take it to a bird dog. You have all those options. So, yes, it's a plank press. A little upper body, too, but you can do it. Core engage. All the way down to start. Here we go. Take a jack, take it up. Climber, take it down. Jack. And up and down. Out and in. Yes. Oh, man. Harder than I thought it was gonna be. But we're here. Let's do it. 15 seconds, huh? Let's see who picks this for their. Choose your own adventure, right? Huh? Yes. Last one, stretch. All right, team, stay right here. So little stretch right here. Here's what. What we got. We're gonna take it child's pose to either cat, cow, or child's pose to down dog. It's up to you. Child's pose to down dog. Catch your breath. Zip up that core. Can start on those elbows if you need to rest your wrist. Mobility. Getting it done in three, into in one. Here we go. Child's pose. Stretch it back, open up the hips, reach through the fingertips. Up to down dog, or round through, cat, cow, child's pose. And you can go whatever pace you want. If you need more of a hold or if you need to pedal your feet on that down dog. Up to you. So you pick your pacing, whatever is good. All the way through. Yes. Hi. I think we got time for one more. All the way, big stretch and relax. That's it, team. Now choose your own adventure. What do you got? I'm gonna take it over on my back, back to that pullover. You might be joining me there because I know we just did a lot of things on your wrist, right? But you can do pull over crunch. You can do plank pull through. You can do mountain climber Jack Plank. Press all of those together, right? Or take it with that child's pose to cat, cow, or child's pose. Two down dog. Join me. Whoo. Get set. Focus in that core. Going in three, two, one. Here we go. And breathe. Yes. Keep it going. And up if you want. If you're doing this one with me, you can come a little bit to the side if you want. A little bit of those obliques. Yes, you can. 15 seconds. We got five, four, three, two, and one. Look at that, team. 10 minutes to go. Come up onto your feet. How about we get into it with another swing? Why not? Grab that swing. Good thing Kurt brought me this town. Grab that kettlebell again. Give yourself a couple reps of that hinge. Bring this back up. Rhonda, popping in to say hi. Just finished TRX shred. Yes, that's a new one. Check it out. If you're a TRX fan, couple hinges, then let's get ready to go. We're gonna pop it back, drop it back, power it up, pop, and lock it out. You know what I meant. Zip up that core. Shoulders back, weight into those feet. This is it. Let's go. Prep it. Three, two, power. No, we're moving quickly as we normally do. So always remember, if you need more time to get set up, I want that form over speed. Quality over quantity, Right? Don't rush. Power up, let it drop. Power up, let it drop. Zip it up. Yes. We got 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. And relax. Pedal it right through here. Ah, yes, team. All right, so set that down. Quick sip of water if you need it. This could be your last round, team. Foreign. We're gonna put some things together. First thing that we got is we're gonna do a forward lunge. I know we threw these in some workouts the last couple weeks. If you're not comfortable with that, you can just do a stationary or reverse lunge. But if you can forward, I want you to actually lean into it. Curl at the bottom, step it back. You don't have to actually get your knee as low as I did. But from here we're going to do bicep curl, push back, alternating. Then we're gonna grab that kettlebell and we're gonna do a compound movement with a press. I'll talk you through it once we're there. Then we get some cardio. Then we get some mobility. Roll those shoulders back. Forward. Lunge and curl in three, two, one. Here we go. Step it forward. Lean into it. Curl. You can go hammer or regular, then push out of it. Lean into it. Push out of it. Lean. Yes. So it is almost like that forward leaning lunge. If you notice, I'm alternating my hammer curl and then my regular curl right here. Push out of it. Yes. And here. Yes, you can. Boom. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Bend your knees. Take it down. Shake it out. We gotta pull. Let's get a push. All right, One kettlebell up to you. Here's what we got, team. It is a clean into a press and then squat it down. Drop it. Now, if you are comfortable with the one handed clean, then I want you to go in here. So let's do the squat and the press. Looks like this. A little half swing. But if you've never done that clean before, then I want you to stay with me. Clean, squat and press. I'm going to tell you the halfway mark. So if you want to do one handed, you can and we'll switch halfway. Otherwise, right here with me. Here we go. Clean. Toss it. Squat and press. Drop it low and up. You can also just pull it up, up. Squat and press again if you're one handed. Yes, switch. If you're at that halfway. If you're doing one hand up, breathe right through here. The one handed clean with the kettlebell is more advanced. That's why I don't do it as often, but it might be right for you. One more and breathe. Oh. Two compounds in a row. Right? Set it down. Shake that out. Here's what we got, team, it's going to complement, that is I want you to take it nice and low. Take it here, reach it up. Instead of coming from the plank, we're coming from that low squat. If you'd rather go from the plank, you can. If you'd rather drop that knee, you can. Otherwise, we're getting a hit. Hip stretch and a big back stretch. Let's get it done. No, it's not mobility yet. What am I thinking? That's mobility is coming. Let's get some cardio. We're gonna go skater, upper, upper, skater, upper, upper, cardio, then mobility. Thank you, my brain, for reminding me. All right, let's get cardio. So it's a skater. Tap behind. Upper for two, upper for two. Three, two, one. I think because both of those moves felt like cardio. If you want to go a little quicker, you can go just one upper. If you want that. Stop, stop. Either one. Right through here. Whatever you got. Team. So we get legs working, we get those uppers and the shoulders. 10 seconds. Breathe. 3, 2, 1. Now we got mobility, right? Legs and arms, you're gonna take it low. Step it back. World's greatest stretch. Step it in. Stay from that low squat. Catch your breath. Take it here. Get ready. Three, two, one. Step it back. Big stretch. Step it in. Take it back. Big stretch. Take it in. Yes, you can. And reach. And in. Legs are burning. Right. Especially if you did that hard workout yesterday. I know. And breathe. Yes. Ten seconds. Three, two, one. And relax. Whoo. All right, this is it, team. Last round. Choose your own adventure. I'm gonna take it with that forward lunge and curl. I'm gonna keep my hammer curl the whole time. Up to you. You can also do that clean squat and press. Breathe into it. Here we go. You can also do mobility. Keep with that. World's greatest stretch. You can do cardio with your skaters. Up to you. Yes. This is it. Last round of that last circuit. What can you give me? You showed up today for a reason. It's a Saturday, and you are here. You are moving. That's right, Wendy. That is all that matters, is that you are here moving today. You showed up. That is success. Three, two, one. Breathe, team. Grab some water. Yes. All right. I think we got time for a bonus move. What do you think, team? Are you with me? The answer is always yes. Guess what? Let's get no weight. Leave those weights away. If you want the standing version of this, you're gonna go cross knee, cross knee. Big, wide jack. Wide jack. We want to get Everything in. So if you can, we're gonna keep it all from the plank. We're popping up to the side. We got core and cardio. We got big reach for core. Other side. Right through here. Your upper body's going to continue to work. Lower body's going to continue to work. We are going to get it done. Join me in the plank or stay up top. Whatever you got, team, this is it. 3, 2, 1, jumper. Walk to the side. Rotate it. Big stretch right here. You can also walk it. Big stretch right here. Power through, stretch. Think of that side plank as a mobility move. Even though our core is working hard, think about that big chest opener. Walk it up or jump. Stretch it out. Yes, you can. We are over halfway there. Stay with me. Again, you are here for a reason. You are strong, and I know you can finish this out. Even though it's tempting to go to that child's pose for those last 15 seconds, just take it to a walk. You don't have to jump. What side was on? I don't know. Here we go. 3, 2, 1. And done. Stretch it back, team. Reach those hands forward. Sit back into that child's pose. Yes, you did. Sweat all over my mat and in my eyes. Mariah has to leave early, but thank you. A taking her puppy out for his third birthday. Go ahead and bring it up slowly, team. Let's get a little stretch through here, and then we'll continue to do some stretches on the mat as we're chatting. Pedal those feet through here. So sweaty, so tired. Slowly rounded up. This is one of those workouts that, in the beginning I thought, I don't know, maybe this format isn't going to be hard enough. Let's go standing. Cat. Cow. Maybe I should have had more compound movements. But then when we get to the end, I feel like we did it right. We got it in. Tammy says yes. That was a bonus move, right? Yes, it was. Reach those hands to the back, grab behind. Let your head drop to the side. Take those arms up. Big stretch over again. Hang out if you can. We're gonna sit. We'll get a little Q A. I'm gonna talk about what is coming up with sculpt and what is coming up in the athletic club. Because it is going to be a fun month, huh? Let's get a little hamstring stretch through here. If you got the balance, take that arm here. Then reverse, Take it to that other side. So much sweat. Breathe. Oh, man. Take it here. Roll those shoulders. Remember, don't forget to subscribe if you Aren't subscribed to my channel. That helps me out. Please subscribe, Please share the videos, like the videos comment. All of those things are going to help me, are going to help other people find these body fit workouts. We want other people to get moving. So please help me with that. One big stretch right through here. If you can't get it all the way up, just take tilt your hip forward. If you got a wall, put your finger, your hand back on the wall so you open up through there. Look over your shoulder. Aaron says, good grief. I took a few days rest and that was a tough one to return. Yep, I hear you. Remember, it's okay to take time off. In fact, I want you to. You might feel it, especially in that endurance as you come back. But our bodies are amazing, and you don't lose lose strength that fast. They want to jump right back into it, but they're gonna let you know that they missed it. Right? Let's get one big, deep breath in and out. You did it. That was your shred and sculpt with weights workouts. Great job, everybody. All right, team, go ahead. Have a seat if you want. If you're able to join me, if you want, I'm going to give you some seated stretches to do. Hey, Katie, finish. Yesterday's just in time to catch the live. Oh, my goodness. If you did, you did the legs and cardio and then this. You are really feeling it. Great job, Katie. All right, team Laura says I feel like we shred this month to pieces. Yes. I love it. You guys really rocked it out. If you want, take those legs out wide and you can both get a little inner thigh hip stretch. While you also relax in that back. Start with that. And then if you want to switch to here. Looking over your shoulder. Dr. CJ, my first month working out with you, I love it. Yes. I'm so, so glad. Thank you, Susan. Thank you, Alozia. Jenny, that was awesome. Thank you. Thank you. You all right, team Lauren says my legs are still sore from hiking a 14 mile. Oh, my goodness. Good job, Lauren. I've never felt stronger. Oh, that makes me happy. I'm here. Thank you, mama. Just when I needed to get back on track after holidays. Felt the burn. But motivated for next month's challenge. Yes. Thank you, Mary Ellen. All right, team, so if you have any questions, you can put them in the chat. I'll try to get to as many as I can. Jennifer first live since before I had Covid since before I covet in November. Oh, my gosh. I'M so glad that you are back. Thank you, Charlotte. Yes. So next month, this Monday, we are starting sculpt. So sculpt is the third and final challenge of our summer Fit series. As you guys know, know, we've been going through the summer. We did sweat, we did shred, we did sculpt. Our goal was to keep moving throughout the craziness of the summer. I know it's not summer for everybody, but for a lot of us, it's a busy time. The kids are out of school. Our routines are off. So we are gonna kick it up a notch and sculpt and take it down in time. Kick it up in intensity, Take it down in time. I know that August is super busy because some of us are are going back to work. A lot of my teachers kids are going back to school. Sometimes we're just getting back into our routines. Every workout on the summer fit schedule is 25 minutes, right? So of your five regular workouts for the week, we got 25 days of those. They're all 25 minutes. So 25. In 25, our lives will be around that 25 to 30, they will be a little bit shorter. But of your regular workouts, 25 and 25, so you guys who know me know that that means we're gonna move quick, we're gonna get it done. It does not mean that we're gonna sacrifice anything. We are going to give our bodies a little break in terms of duration, but we're going to keep up the intensity. We're going to sculpt those muscles. We're going to keep that sweat going with our endurance and our stamina. We're going to keep shredding. We're going to get it all done in August. So join me for sweat sculpt. Yes. Thank you, Paula. Thank you. Maria is looking forward to the shorter workouts. Charlotte says, I was expecting body weight, so this is a nice surprise. Oh, I'm so glad. Good, good. All right, so that is starting on Monday. Make sure you're subscribed to the channel. Make sure you're on the email list. You can find all of these in the description below. The email list is where you get the links to your workouts and you get them early. So you guys know we send out a Sunday email and you get the links early. So otherwise we release them live on the channel the night before. But I know everybody's in different time zones, so if you want them early, make sure you're on that email list. Also. Would love to have you join us in the Body Fit athletic club. So many of our BAC family is here right now. We have so many fun things coming up. So make sure you join us there. Vivian is going to be doing a nutrition challenge. It is an antioxidant challenge. Antioxidant. August, if you guys know us, you know Vivian, we are all about nutrition by addition, not restriction. Right? So how can we add more antioxidant? What is an antioxidant? What do we do? They're trendy, we hear all about them. But she's going to be breaking it down. And we have a challenge with prizes. We just are finishing up our snack challenge. We had a hydration challenge. All of those have been really great ways for us to hone in our nutrition without feeling like we have to restrict ourselves. We are not about dieting or cutting things out. We are about finding the joy in food and getting the good nutrition in. So join us for that. Vivian's also going to be breaking down macros. Not counting macros, but what are macros, what are fats, what are proteins, what are carbs? Talking through that. In addition, she's also going to be doing an eating out series. So this is a question we get all the time. How do I eat healthy when I eat out? The answer is not to never eat out. The answer is not that you always have to order, you know, the smallest thing on the menu. She's going to give you some ways. She's going to be going through different popular restaurants and how can you make some good choices that don't mean that you have to restrict? So that's going to be a fun series as well. And I'm going to be breaking down a lot on the fitness side as well as getting you those 25 minute workouts. So join us for that. Thank you, Cindy. That worked out a lot of my body kinks from yesterday. The kickboxing moves always help me get get my body back in alignment. Yes, Cindy, you are not alone in that. I feel the same way. There is something because we end up reaching so much, it's that cross body work we call it really gets that stretch through our spine and our back without weight, right? Without a lot of load. It's more those reaches across that we get. It's still controlled. It's not just all over the place. It's controlled Crossbody movement. But without load can be really, really great for their back. The amount of times that I've heard people say, I don't know if kickboxing would be good for me, I'M always saying try it because it's a great way to get some cardio. It's a great way to get low impact cardio. If you're throwing those punches, you don't have to jump right. You're going to feel it. But yeah, I agree with you, Cindy. I always feel better too. I always feel feel more stretched out just because there's a lot of rotational movement without a lot of extra stress on our body. Good to see you, Cindy. I miss you, Charlotte. Will we still have the bonus workouts on the bac? Yes. So that's the other thing. If you're in the athletic club, we give a weekly calendar in addition to the monthly that everybody gets and I include 10 minute bonus burns. They're different every single day. They're on your calendar right next to to your regular workout. So this will be a great month. If you are somebody who is used to the 35 or 40 minute workouts, you can add that bonus burn in a lot of times. They're full body. They're great little finishers. It's those quick hits that all of you know from my channel. But great to just have them on your calendar so you can click right there and get an extra quick hit, an extra 10 minutes if you have the time. If you don't, no big deal. I also tell people that if you have a busy day or busy week, just get the quick hits. Just aim for 10 minutes. You're still going to get something in feel good, build up that strength and endurance. So yes, we will have those. Let's see. Thank you, Amy. Oh, good. I'm really, I'm glad you're feeling it in the core. Lori, with sculpt, are we going to be doing upper than core full body also? 25 minutes. So more of the full body with this one. But we are going to. I know you guys like some of the spots splits that we had this month where we had two weeks where we had some upper and lower body splits. We're going to bring that back in September. Not for this month because of the shorter format. Because we want to and again because it's a busy month and I want to make sure that if you have to miss a few days here or there that everything is covered. But we will be bringing that back. So let me know if you liked that. I think a lot of you did. So, Heather, so excited for the short workout. Oh, Mr. Judah, musical rehearsals. Oh, be still my heart. I love musicals. Ready to crush it this month. Christina, where's your gym located? I'm in Los Angeles. I don't have a gym per se that, that I have host classes at. I used to personal train. Well, I still personal train and I used to teach classes pre pandemic, but now it's just me and you guys. Right. I still have a few, few clients that I see here or there. But yep, I'm here in sunny California, in Los Angeles. All right. Charlotte is really looking forward to August and the bac. I'm here. Also feels the stretch with the kickboxing. Lori, love this workout. Muscles on fire. Also loved all the direction, alternating dumbbells to kettlebells and of course, the bonus move. That's good to hear. Yes. There's something about going back and forth. We get that quick little break for our hands as opposed to those complexes or those workouts where we're holding onto the weights the entire time. We do just have to be extra careful to make sure we're not doing that bend, dropping them down, picking them up, all of that. But you guys, I know all have great form, so I know that you will get the good hinge or squat or lunge motion to pick up the those weights. Just sneaking those in for you. All right, team, so let me know if you have any other questions. Julia, Los Angeles in the house. Yes. La. Love it out here. It's real hot right now. Dry hot. Real hot in this gym space, but. Which is why you guys see me always adjusting my fan. Right? Good news. I don't know if you can hear the construction is that we are building a new studio in our backyard. So in the next month or so or a few weeks, you will be seeing it on the channel. I'm gonna do. I will blast it out on social media. I will show you guys from beginning to finishing. They're framing the roof right now, so new Body Fit studio is coming. And hopefully you didn't hear it during the workout because we have the music on. But I don't know if you can hear the saws or the hammer. So. Yeah. Yay. Let's see. Charlotte loves the 10 minute bonus. Goes well with the 25 minute. Let's see, Lisa is in Georgia. Love it. Yay. Thank you, Katie. Tamika, did you and Kurt and kids enjoy the beach? Yes. If you saw my social media, we had a little beach day yesterday. Both kids were home. You know, it's summer, it's crazy. There's so many advantages to working with from home because when the kids are home in the summer, we can do a lot of things with them. But we don't get a lot of work done. So yesterday we did some work early in the morning, and then we went to the beach. Perks of living in la, right? It was beautiful. It was a beautiful day. And way cooler on that side of town, so. All right. Julia says I'm in my garage. You're in your garage too? No insulation. It works. Of a great stretch. Yes. My new studio. I'll do a whole tour once it is here, team. All right, so if anybody has any other questions, throw them in right now. Otherwise, please, please make sure you're subscribed. Make sure you're on the email list. If you want to join us in the athletic Club, we have half off the first month with the code sculpt. S, C, L, U, L, P, T. Too early to be spelling right. Use the code sculpt. That's a great way to try it. A lot of you do that where you just want to. To test it out. Half off, right? So you just come for one month, you try it, and then if you don't like it, you cancel. Otherwise, you can hang out. But we have such a great time in there. It's such a supportive community. The community is really what makes it. But also you get that access to me and to Vivian, our dietitian. So if you're feeling like you need some help on the nutrition. And again, we are not about putting you on a super strict diet or, you know, having super, super hardcore rules. We are about helping you heal that relationship with food and finding ways to fuel your body and get that nutrition in and feeling good about it. So Vivian's approach to nutrition is very similar to my approach to fitness. We work really well together. So it's a really caring community. We share a lot in there. Vivian and I do lives every week where we answer your questions, we do Q and A's, we cover hot topics, and then we also have office hours this month where you can meet with us on a zoom call, basically where all of us are going to meet and you can ask questions to my face. So we would love to have you join us for that sculpt to get half off the first month. If you want to commit to the year, you can use body fit 100 and get $100 off the year. A lot of people do that. And then you're in for the year and you get a full year's worth of all the fun stuff that we do in the Athlete Athletic Club. So let's see. Katie. Can't wait for sculpt. Christina, as a new mom, still trying to figure out my time. Thank you so much for these videos. I've been seeing my muscles coming back and my mommy's finally shredding. Yes. Listen, it is so hard. I feel this. I mean, everybody is busy, and it's very hard to be getting it in, but especially when you're figuring out a new schedule and everything is different when you have those babies. So I feel you, Christina. I'm so glad that you're starting to feel strong again, and I can't wait to see you for more of these workouts. Thank you so much. Have a great Saturday. Thank you, Laura. Thank you, Wendy. I will see you guys on Monday when we start sculpt. Get excited. We're going to hit it hard for the last month of Summer fit. See you there, team. Have a great weekend.
