LIVE Holiday HIIT 2024 Kickoff Party Workout - Saturday at 10 AM PT

Live Holiday HIIT kickoff party workout led by Amy (YouTube live). The session blends cardio, strength, and mobility in short circuits (mostly 40s blocks, some 30s/60s), uses optional props (dumbbells, kettlebells, mini loop band), and emphasizes scalable options and community interaction. The instructor encourages attendees, reads chat names, and closes with promotions for the BodyFit Athletic Club membership and apparel sales and a cooldown stretch.

Okay. All right, so if you have your weights, keep them close by. If you have a mini band, it's optional. All of that is optional. Nicole is back after her second baby. Congrats, Nicole. Oh, my goodness. Right? The kids really got their heart rates up there. Megan with Noah and Hazel. Hi, guys. Shannon. Oh, how's the little guy? Just put him down for a nap. She is ready, Fay. I know, right? Kai is a little mini Kurt. Lynn is ready to go in Scotland. Oh, My gosh, you guys. So fun. This is really warming my heart. I am so thankful for all of you. Have been reflecting on that this week and always. But let's go ahead and get started again. I just said if you have dumbbells and kettlebells, keep them close by. If you have a mini band, we may throw it in. Optional. Don't worry. If you just have your own body, that will work too. But we're gonna get it done. We're gonna be moving and it's a party style workout. So if you've done them, it's. I know, it's been a while. We are gonna do a circuit of cardio, strength, mobility, and then choose your own adventure. You get to pick whatever you want your last one to be out of this. Yola new. Hi, welcome. Yoli, I think new BAC member. All right, guys, so Amy is here. Okay, guys, so let's. Ah, Czech Republic. Hi, welcome, welcome. Now the kids are knocking on the garage door. Vicki in Chicago. Oh, I used to live there. I love it, but so cold. All right, so let's go ahead and start moving. Make sure you have some space. If you have a watch and you want to set it, you can set that watch. Oh, man, you guys, I already got some workouts minutes just by chasing those kids around. All right, so go ahead and start moving. We're gonna get our bodies warm, especially if you're Vicki in Chicago or Jean in New Hampshire. I know lots of you guys are in. Tracy in SoCal, my neighbor first live. Welcome, welcome. You can roll those shoulders. Oh, man, you guys, I've missed this. We will be doing more of this. As most of you guys know, as my kids have gotten older and I think many of you can relate to this, we have more Saturday activities, so we have sports. They play soccer, they play basketball. And it's been harder to get these lives in, but we do have a plan to do more in the new year, maybe even on some weekdays. So we're gonna get it in. So because I love connecting with you guys in this way, let's step it out right here. Candace and Gus. Oh, my heart, I'm so happy you are here. Candy. Candace and Gus, who I won't say their ages, but they're older than 30 and they work out all the time. And I love having you guys here. Welcome, welcome. Ready to warm up in Wisconsin? I'm sure. Saw you guys. Got a lot of places got snow lately. All right, take it here. Shift your weight. Open up those hips. You can do that little Reach. So if you were just joining, we're gonna be working hard today, but we're gonna have a good time. It's a party. So let's take it with that flat back down and round it up. Roll through. We'll start with a little cardio to get our heart rate up. With the circuit, we'll go to some strength. Most likely, it's gonna be a compound strength because we only got one. And then we get a little mobility. And then your last round, choose your own adventure. You get to pick. So roll those shoulders right through here and walk those feet in. Let's do that. Squat in that hinge. So sit low, hands behind the head. Drive the hips to the back right here. Sit low and drive them back. Remember, make them different. Drop those hips and then hips to the back wall. Two more right here. And last one, and let's tap it back. So reach those arms up, tap the leg back, open up those hips. You decide how low you want to get. If you want to make it more of that lunge, you can right here. And then let's hold this one down. You can hold it here if that's best for you, or drop it down to here and get that world's greatest stretch. But don't worry, we're going to add some of these as our mobility, because we love it. Right? And here, step it up and we'll switch that. Take it to the back, Press that foot down. You can just hold it here. Balance if you need it, or take it down. My heart rate's already up, you guys. I filmed a few workouts for you this week, but I've also had a vacation week. My kids have been home. We've been trying to stay busy. If you can meet me on the mat, either in this high plank or on your knees, whatever is best for you. And then we'll take it child's pose to plank, or child's pose up to all fours. Whatever is better for you. If you need to stay on the knees, totally fine. And if you can add to that a little arm reach under, and then bring it up. Core engaged. Arm reach across. Core engage. Feels good to move right? And one more, and go ahead and walk those hands back and pedal those feet slowly. Take your time and meet me at the top. All right, team, tap it out here. Reach across. All right, so we're going to have fun with it today. You know the rules. If you've been here before, if you are new here, be where you are today. And what that means is where you are in your fitness journey. So no need to push. If you are new to this or you're getting back into this, I want you to be challenged, but in a way that's good for you. So I will always give you options and modifications to take it up, to take it down, whatever is good for you. Take those knees across and be where you all are. Today also means where are you today in your life? Are you feeling extra tired, extra stretch, stressed, or maybe stretched? If you need to take it a little slower or lower impact, that is totally fine. The important thing is that you showed up today. If you showed up, you are successful. So remember that it's all about just being here and moving. We're not trying to break any records here. All right, guys, so go ahead, and I want you to grab one weight so it can be heavier, light. We're going to take it. To start with our cardio, we're actually going to do that squat, rotational press. So I'm going to be using my kettlebell, my heavier kettlebell. Gonna turn this fan on. Looks like Kurt only gave me two kettlebells, and they're both the heavy ones, so I'm gonna have to use it. So if you need to, you can keep it body weight. You can take one dumbbell light or heavy or one kettlebell, but this is gonna get our heart rates up. Yes, it's strength, but it's also cardio. Oh, yeah, I can do it, right? I'm used to using my maybe 18 for this. This is my 26. Let's do it, you guys. All right, so 40 seconds of that down, we're gonna actually have two rounds of our strength because we'll have a right side and a left side. All right, team, go ahead. Take it here. In three, two, one. Squat it down. Press it up. As you press, you're gonna rotate a bit to the side. So we're incorporating some core. I know when we think cardio, we often think we have to be running or jumping. But you guys know I'm always out to prove that wrong. We can get that heart rate up high by adding weights, by getting a lot of things working together right? And if you have something a little lighter and you want to add a little more power, it's a little harder for me with this one. But, you guys, 20, 25 is the year I'm gonna really challenge myself on weights. I got some new ones coming. Last one. All right, team. So you can hang on to that weight or you can get something heavier. Everybody's heart rate up. I Know mine is. So I'm gonna grab my 20 here. Here's what we got. You're gonna do a lunge into a row. So you're here, row at the bottom, press it up, join me in three, two, one. Here we go. Stationary lunge. You gotta hinge into it. Row, bring it up. You can have this hand out here. If this is better for you, and if you need to keep it small and make it a little more of that hinge, that works too. You do you. You can step into it, or you can keep it stationary. I'm going to keep it stationary. If you need some balance, grab onto the wall and up. Yes, team. One more. Yes. Relax. All right, we're gonna get that other side. Heart rate stayed up, right? I know mine did. So we're gonna take it here again, same idea as you lunge. Drop the chest just a bit. Nice flat back, Pull that elbow up towards your hips, squeeze in the shoulder blades and drive it up. In three, two, one. Here we go. And up. So it's a little bit of a lunge and a hinge, right? So as you drop into the lunge, you also drop the chessboard. Feel that in the back of the leg and the glutes. Weight comes right? And again. Sometimes I like to have this arm out. It helps me really maintain a neutral spine. Make sure you're still getting low. I know it's tempting. If that's better for you, you can keep it higher. But if you're able, let's get low. Breathe in. Three, two, one. And relax. All right, team, so our mobility. Let's take it to an inchworm. If going to the mat is not right for you, you're just gonna hinge it here. Get that little stretch and then bring it up. You can keep it just with that, or you're gonna walk it all the way out on your hands into your inchworm. Walk it back. Here we go. Mobility. Yes. We're incorporating a little core, so hang out there for a second. Walk it back. We won't get very many. It's only 40 seconds. But really think. Drive the hips to the back. Feel that stretch. Walk out. Feel that stretch long through your back and walk it back. Yes. And breathe. Keeping the core zipped, breathing through it, but strong, stable foundation. If you need to, you can walk out and drop to your knees. Can we get one more here? And walk it back and bring it up. All right, team, so this is it. Our last round. You pick. Do you want to get that cardio with that squat rotational, press do you want to get the strength? If you're doing the strength, we're going to alternate. Lunge, row, maybe two dumbbells if you got them. Lunge, row. Or you can keep doing that. Inchworm, we got 40 seconds. Your pick. It's a party. Let's do it. I'm gonna grab two weights and I'm gonna do that lunge and row. But you pick what you want for you. Let's get it done. 40 seconds. In three, two, one. Here we go. Wherever you are today, do it. If that's the inchworm, if you need more mobility, maybe you've been traveling, sitting in cars or on planes, that mobility might feel really good. If you're alternating this lunge, make sure you're set hinged, and then drive it up. I know it's a little tricky alternating between the two, but you got it. I can tell one leg is feeling extra tight today. I need some extra mobility on that one. Five seconds. Three, two, one. Yes. Team, grab some water. Oh. Who's feeling their heart rate? I know I am. That's what I love about this. We start with the cardio. We go into strength. By the time we get to mobility, that heart is pumping right, and we keep it up there. The beauty of circuits, the beauty of these type of quick workouts. Feeling it, you guys. Cheers. All right, team, so before we go to that next round, how about we do a little deadlift into a swing? We're gonna sneak it in in between. So we're going to start with heavy weights. Dumbbells or kettlebells? I'll start with my dumbbells. Drive the hips to the back. Stand up straight. It's your deadlift. We'll get 40 seconds of that. We'll follow it with 30 seconds of a swing. Grab those weights. I'm gonna go with my heavies here, and then I'll grab that heavy kettlebell. You're welcome to do the deadlift for both if that's where you are today. Shoulders back. Here we go. And stand up straight. So weights stay close to the front of the legs. Or if you've got that kettlebell right between your feet, drive those hips to the back. And then stand up straight. Yes. Face so true. Movement is a joy when you're otherwise stuck in a car or at the desk. Yes. Amy's at zone three. Me too. If you're tracking those cardio zones, heart rate zones, I shouldn't call them cardio zones, your heart rate zones, but it's cardiovascular, right? Keeping those shoulder blades pulled Back. Three, two, one. And relax. Selena, are you working out outside? She's dodging Texas snowballs. Or is Texas snowballs? I mean, I assume you don't get a ton of snow there. Maybe it's something different. All right, guys, so you can keep just that. Drop it. Drive it up. Lock it at the top. If you've done that swing before, remember, you're gonna drive it up, lock out of the top, let it drop. You're not lifting with your arms. All the power is coming from here. So heavy. Kettle bell or dumbbell if you've got it. Otherwise, keep that deadlift. Let's take it right here. Shoulders, stay back. Core engaged. 30 seconds in three, two. Prep it. Here we go. Let it drop. Remember, you don't have to get high with this weight. It can be chest level or below. And when you're going with something super heavy, it's gonna be lower. That's what we want. If it's too light, your arms are going to be tempted to help. But we want power from the back of the legs. Lock it out at the top. Let it drop. Use your breath. 3, 2, 1. Let it swing and relax. Oh, thank you for clarifying, Selena. Thank you. Make snowballs. I figured. But maybe you'll get some snow at Christmas. Who knows? Grab some water, everybody. We're going into circuit two, and if you have a mini loop band, we're gonna add it in to this one. So if you don't have a band, no big deal. But if you have one, our cardio. Make sure your weights are out of the way. You're gonna do a side step reach. Side step reach. Or it can be a little mini shuffle reach. So if you want to put that band above your knees if you feel comfortable with that. And again, sure. Those weights are out of the way. We're just moving laterally this way and this way with a little reach again to get that core. All right, we got 40 seconds. Get low, athletic stance, core engaged. Here we go. Hey, Arval. Seven and eight workout with you every week. I love it in Miami. Oh, sunny. Oh, I'm. I forgot that reach. So when you get to here, reach across. Or if you'd rather do that punch, you're a kickboxing lover, take it here. But rotation. If you want to do this quick, you can take it quick. Little extra burn for those glutes, right? Hey, Lindsay. Oh, Ellie has so much energy. Wise words. Yes. Thank you, Ellie. Three, two, one. Three. All right, team. So if you have that band on, you can keep it on we're taking it to the mat. So heavy weights, if you got them. We're doing a chest press with a bridge. So you're going to lift those hips. If that's not right for you and you want to keep it standing, just do a shoulder press and wrap them in. I'm gonna go with these twenties with the bridge. If you have the band, you can do a little press out. Watch me with your knees to get a little abduction for those hips. If you want to just get one or the other, get one or the other. Here we go, team. In three, two, press and bridge. So if you got that band, you're pressing up and in with those weights, you're pressing out with the band or out with the knees. Keep it slow and controlled. I know it's a little tricky because we just did that cardio. Your heart rate is up. Yes, Right here. Five seconds. Strong upper body push. Strong glutes and hamstrings. Last one and relax. All right, Stay on the mat. If you have that band, take it off. We're gonna take it to a rotation, so it's going to be core and it's going to be mobility. If you want to stay on your knees, open it up to here, get that mobility. Open it up to here. If you want to get more of that plank that core, take it here. Up to you. We got 40 seconds. In three, two, one. Knees or toes, open it up. Back to center. So, yes, we're sneaking in core, but on the rotation, I want you to really think about opening up the shoulder, really reaching behind, behind your body and opening up in the torso so we get that mobility and really think of your chest. Right? So I get stuck here. Open it up behind because we're all tight, right? So if you can really think I'm bringing that arm back so I get that stretch. Chest opener. Yes, team, five seconds. Four, three, two, one. Big stretch back. All right, team. So up to you. What do you want in this moment? I'm actually gonna stay with mobility because that's feeling good for me, for my core, and also that chest opener. So up to you. Hang out with that. Grab those weights, do that chest press and bridge, or take it up in that little shuffle you do you. 40 seconds. Here we go. Open it up right here. And if you wanted to add something, if you're doing that mobility, you could add a little down dog in between or a little child's pose. Up to you. You're doing that shuffle. Get low, reach across bridge and press. Make sure you're Lifting those hips high, pressing strong away from the floor. We got 10 seconds. Yes, team. Man, this workout is flying by. And here. Three, two, one. Stretch it out. All right, team, bring it up. Grab either your weights or your kettlebell, your dumbbell or your kettlebell. Let's go back to a swing. One more time. Let's take it here. Drive it up. Let it drop. Oh, wrong one. That feels way too late. 30 seconds of a swing or a deadlift. Let's close it out. Kimberly is gonna do it when she gets home. Hey, Pat. All right, we're gonna take it up. Let it drop. Whatever you got for 30. Wrap that core in three, two, one. Here we go. Power. Let it drop. If you're feeling spicy and you're comfortable doing that handoff swing you're handing off at the top, then letting it drop. If that does not feel safe for you, keep it with two. That's a great way. If your kettlebell is starting to feel a little too light, but you don't have a new one yet, hand it off. Yes, team. Whoo. That's hard for me today. We got 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Swing, and let it drop. Grab some water, team. Ha. All right, let's get this done. All right, next round, with our cardio, we're going to keep it all body weight. We're gonna do some knee raises, but you have the option. You can twist it. Twist it. Or if you want to make it a little fun, you can twist. Who remembers this one? I love to bring this back for a holiday hit. Right? Cardio party. Just your knees. Or you can add that little twist at the bottom, get a little hip action, and then drive it across. All right, get that heart rate up. So as you come up, really get that power. Let's get it done. In three, two, one. Here we go. And up. Yes, you can. Boom. Or here, pull them across, add that jump if that's right for you. Anything goes with this move, right? And if you haven't checked out my cardio party workouts, they are so much fun. Lost my timer, but that's all right. We'll just keep going, right? Three, two. No, it's still on one. I just can't remember when I started. Catch your breath. Thank you, Samantha. My. My outfit. I call this my Christmas pajama workout outfit. Catch your breath. Right. Feeling that. All right, let's take it all upper body. With this, we're gonna do a curl press. And if you want, triceps at the top so this can look a few different ways. I'M gonna grab my tens. Hammer, curl, hammer, press. Up, up, and here. If you don't feel comfortable going over the head, you just keep the curl in the press. If you need to, you can also take it one weight. Up, up. One heavy. Elbows in. All right, Biceps, shoulders, tries. Here we go. So up, up. Bring them together behind the head. And up, back down. So we got three parts. And here, especially as you go over your head, watch that core, making sure we're not arching right. We're keeping that core pulled in. And here. Up, up. Yes. Let's aim for two more right here. Strong in those tries. Last one. Yes, team. And relax. All right, so let's take it for our mobility. World's greatest stretch. You can do it from the top, step, reach, or keep it up here, reach it over, or do it from the plank. If you want a little extra core. That's where I'm gonna go from. So you're here to here. Join me. Here we go. 40 seconds. Here, reach. So. So many ways you can do this. Again from the top. If the plank is not right for you, if you want to stay on the mat, you want to keep one knee down, you get a little extra hip flexor stretch up to you. Yes, team. Big reach. I know. Hip opener. Yes. Right here. And boom. 3, 2, 2, 1. Relax. Stretch it back. All right, team, what do you got? Your pick. You can do your twist. You can do your knees right, or knees curl, press, tries. I'm gonna go with that. Or you can take it to that. World's greatest stretch. What do you need in this moment? I'm gonna grab my dumbbells. Let's get it done in three, two, one. Here we go. Up, up, and down. Breathe. Bringing them together at the top. If you're doing that twist or those knees, make sure you bring that power as you drive that knee up and across. World's greatest stretch. Find that mobility. Hips open, rotate through your torso. Yes, team. Strong arms. Yes, you can. Oh, let's get one more. Why not? Up, up, and relax. Yes. All right, guys, how about one more swing? Why not? Let's take it. Whatever you got. One more time with the back of those legs, because I love a swing, especially to start off your Saturday or end your Saturday or have a little lunch break on your Saturday. Whatever it is for you. All right, so you got it. Hinge either with that deadlift or with that swing. Shake everything out as you're ready. Core engagement. Let's get it done. Shoulders back. Hinge it here. Let's get It. Three, two, one. Here we go. Power up. Let it drop. Make this your best swing. It's your last one. Lock out at the top. Let it drop. Are you thinking about all the parts? Power all the way up the back of your body. Push into those feet. Lock out at the hips, the glutes, the quads, the core. Shoulders pulled back, arms along for the ride. Five seconds. You got a team. We got three, two, one. Swing and relax. Relax your shoulders. Pedal those feet. Yes, team, four minutes. Feels like we have time for one more circuit, but you know what? We gotta stretch a little. So I do think, though, that we have time for a bonus move. Why not? And you know what, guys? I feel like we haven't had enough core in this workout, even though we got it with that mobility. So let's take it down. Here is what we've got. I want you to grab one medium weight, whatever it is. We're gonna take it here. You're gonna pull it through two times. You're gonna do that climber across for four, then pop it up. You're gonna pull it here and pull it here from that squat. Does that make sense? You're moving that weight in the center and then around. Listen, if you don't feel comfortable moving that weight, if it's too heavy, you want to just keep it body weight. Keep it body weight. If you're taking it standing, we're gonna go knees for four. We're gonna squat it down, touch and touch. All right, that's your standing option. Yes. Jessica loves a bonus move. Everybody does, right, Faye? Here we go. So you're either pulling that weight climber or knee cross for four. Pop up, hold that squat, move that weight. All right, let's do it. We got 60 seconds, team, and then we will close out this workout. So wherever you need to be for this, we want a lot of core, we want a lot of cardio. We're building strength. We're getting, getting it all in. Holiday hit party. Three, two, one. Here we go. Pull that weight across. Pull that weight across. Watch as you pop up. Make sure it's out of your way. Move it in the center, Move it to the side. Functional training, right? Take it here, pop it up, move it center here, pop it back, or walk it back. Remember, you don't have to jump up. You can also just walk it up, right? Here's our mobility, here's our strength, here's our cardio. Oh, man. I'm not doing the climber. Why didn't you guys call me on it? You probably did. 4, 3, 2, 1. I feel like I gotta add a couple extra, but you don't have to. Right here. Pull it through. Too many parts, Amy. Too many parts. 4, 3, 2, 1. You got 10 seconds. 4, 3, 2. What? What am I doing? Who knows? You guys are done. I'm gonna add some bonus climbers cuz I forgot them. 3, 2, 1. Stretch it back. That bonus move was so complicated I forgot half of it. But that's okay because you know what? As long as you're moving, stretch it back. Look at that. Guys, we still got a minute and a half to stretch, so sit back in that child's pose. Apologies to whoever was just trying to follow me on that. I hope you're doing your own thing. Stretch it back. If you want, take one arm under and get that stretch. If you need to take this standing, you can just put your hands on a chair, couch, countertop and just stretch back into your shoulders, into your hips. Thank you for showing up with me today. I had so much fun. Other arm. I hope you did too. And again, we're gonna bring it back more probably during holiday hit. Make sure, as you guys know, we're not because of life.
