TRX Total Body Power Workout

A guided 30‑second-interval full-body TRX suspension trainer workout led by Amy (BodyFit by Amy). The session combines strength, power, mobility, and cardio with progressions and regressions offered throughout, and finishes with core work and a brief stretch and call-to-action to explore Amy’s other offerings.
Hey, everybody, I'm Amy from BodyFit by Amy. And this is your TRX Total Body Power workout. In this workout, we're gonna work the total body. Using your TRX suspension trainer, we will start back to basics. With strength, we will add on some power. And of course, with all of it, we will keep your heart rate up for cardio. Don't worry, I'm going to give you lots of different options to work to your level as we go. Are you ready? Let's do it. Let's start with your suspension trainer out in front, elbows at your side. I just want you to sit low in that deep squat and big reach around. So we're gonna get a little mobility, warm up, getting everything moving, feeling good, ready to go, and then we'll get into this workout. The nice thing about this workout is that everything is 30 seconds only. And we always start back to basics. So that back to basics move, you can stick with it entire time. Let's take it right here. Reach those hands forward, step into that side lunge. You can stay with that first, back to basics, or you can add on the power. That's where we get total body power. TRX is a great tool to get lots of power. We love it for that. But of course, it's not for everybody. So if you want to stick back to basics, if that is enough for you for where you are in your fitness journey or where you are today, you stay right there. I promise you're still going to feel it. Take those arms out in front, big stretch, hips to the back. Sink deep into that. Press the shoulders down. Then let's open up to the side right through here. So really trying to get that mobility work here to here. Opening it up. There we go. And let's flip around with the anchor point behind us. Big step forward, forward lunge. Open up the chest and shoulders. So really lean away from your suspension trainer. If you can, drop that knee so you get that hip flexor stretch. Otherwise, keep it up top and take it through those arms. I'm already feeling my heart rate getting up, so I hope that you do too. Hold it here. I want you to take one arm up towards the knee that's in the front. Reach behind, big stretch, lean towards that front foot. Then switch your sides right here. Take it here. Lean, big reach. All right, let's get into it. Of course, if you need more of a world, get it on your own. We're gonna jump right into this circuit. So we are taking it with just a regular squat, not even a one Legged squat. We're gonna space the anchor point. Elbows down. Right here. We got 30 seconds of just your squat. Then when we add on, we're gonna add some power with the squat and a kick, our alternating kick. So you decide, stick with the squat or add the kick. But let's start with the squat right now. Here we go. Sit low. Drive it up. So just think of it just like your body weight squat. But what I want you to use those straps for is to get a little lower, right? Oftentimes it can be hard to get super low in the squat, depending on your flexibility, your mobility, your strength. So use those straps not pulling yourself up with your arms like that, but to be able to get lower and then drive up if you want. Let's add some power right here. Kick it. Take it here. So we're gonna kick at the top, then at the halfway point, we're gonna kick at the bottom. If you want to keep just your regular squat, take it there. Yes. All right, team, hold it down here. We're gonna kick. Stay low. It's a little pulse. I know it's gonna burn, but you can do it. We got five. Stay low. Four. Chest open. Eyes up. Three, two, one. Shake it out. So that's what it looks like. We get a solid minute, but we start back to basics. Then we add that power. Remember, power is optional. Watch me here while you catch your breath. You're taking it here. We're starting with our regular row. Elbows in, let it drop. When we add power, we're going to bring the knee towards the chest as we come in. That's not right for you. You just keep it with the row. Let's take it here. Walk those feet forward. Straight arms. Here we go. Elbows in. Let it drop. So we want to keep those straps nice and tight. We want to keep the wrists nice and tight. We're trying not to get slack in our straps. We're trying not to roll through those wrists. Really think about it like a bent over row that you're pulling those shoulder blades together. Elbows together, pulling everything in to lift your body. Keep it going here. Squeeze, Release. Slow and controlled if you want. Here we go. Rowan, knee. Drop it back. It's gonna play with your balance. It's gonna use that core even more. So stick with it. Take it here. Yes. Bring it in. Yes, you can. And breathe right through here. Ha. 3, 2, 1. Big stretch out. So we're pushing through two short circuits. Two short circuits of 30 seconds, but it's really one long one. The second one is More of that. Hit with the power, adding that intensity so we get a longer breather. All right, we're taking it to a lunge this time, so I want you to watch me right here. Elbows right at the side. We're going to start with just your regular lunge. We're gonna lunge right for 30. We got three rounds this time. Time. You can do it. Then lunge and kick or lunge and knee. Then we got a little jump with it. Join me here. Regular lunge. You can tap it down, you can bring it up. So think of it as a reverse lunge. I got my toe on the ground. If you're really feeling it, you can keep that foot off the ground, right? You know you got a longer set, so maybe you want that little extra balance for this first round. Back to basics. Or keep it off the ground. We're gonna add the knee or the kick right here. Looks like this. You can do just the knee or kick down and kick. And again. You can keep that back foot off the ground, or you can tap it down, then kick up with power. We're not leaning into it. We're keeping it here. And kick, down and kick. I know this one's gonna be a burner, but you can do it. And breathe. Down and up right through here. Are you ready? Here we go. Jump it. Jump it all on this one side. You can keep that back foot on the ground. It's here. Or keep that toe off the ground. I know it's burning, but push through these last 15 seconds with me. Then we got a breather. You can do it. Bring it up. I know. Yes. Burn. You can always take it. Back to basics, but you got five seconds. Three, two, one. Ha. I feel it, too. Shake it out. Little stretch right here. Good burn. Good heart rate. If you want a breather, go ahead and grab it. Catch your breath. Grab some water. Same thing. Other side. I know that leg's already burning just thinking about it, but hang with me, because then we got one more thing. Upper body here, and then we're flipping it around. All right? Catch your breath. Regular lunge. Lunge and kick. Lunge, jump. Here we go. Take it down. Might make you think that. Rethink that. Regular lunge. Maybe you were keeping it off the ground like our suspended lunge. And this time you want to tap it back, right? Because you know what's coming. Really focus on keeping that chest open, looking up at that anchor point right here to here. Take it down and bring it up. Are you ready? Add that kick down and Kick, kick. Not leaning back. Still keeping that core engaged. Lots of balance. Kick it out. Get low and up. Remember, you can tap it down in the back or keep it off the ground. Get low to really activate the glutes. Remember, we don't care how fast you're going. We want good form. I'd rather you get low, then get more in. Are you ready? Jump it. It's only 30 seconds, and you don't have to go fast with it. Remember, you can put it on the ground with a little tap or keep it off the ground. Drive that knee up. Jump off that front leg. 15 seconds. Can you hang with me for just 15? I know you can. Breathe. Bring it up. Eyes up, chest open. Five, four, three, two, one. Shake it out. Breathe. Good burn, right? I love workouts where we can build it. Start back to basics. Add on, add on, right? That way you can stay at a level that is good for you. All right, bicep curls. So think about your bicep curls, right, that you do with dumbbells. Going to suspend it. So we're here. Right through here. When we add on, we'll add a little twist. So starting right here, extend it out. Here we go. Core engage. Pull towards your ears. Some things to think about relaxing those shoulders. Keep the elbows out in front of your body and pull towards you. Our muscle memory wants to use our back. Those are stronger muscles. Let's keep it here relaxing here. We tend to be here. Let's drop it down right through here. What we're gonna add is a little twist. Watch me One time up. Little twist just in your torso. Back. It's gonna make one arm work a little harder. It's almost like a little alternating. If that doesn't feel good for you, breathe your inside one as you twist. It's almost like this and this. Keep the arms moving either way. If that feels weird, just keep it going. 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1. Stretch it back. Press it right here. All right, team, let's get it done. Quick sip of water, here we go. We're flipping around. We're keeping with some upper. We're going to a chest press, so shake everything out. Watch me here. We're gonna keep. You can adjust those straps if you need to. I don't do a ton of adjusting of my straps because my ceiling height is pretty low, and I'm trying to stay in the camera frame. But of course, you do what's best for you. We're one of that regular chest press. We go down, we go up. I want you to think about that 45 degree angle like you do with a chest press or a push up halfway through or after that second. That second. 30 seconds, we're gonna go down. You've got your mountain climber. 4, 3, 2, 1. We're gonna go up. If it feels weird to do it low, take it high. Here we go. Chest press out in front. Take it here and push. If you're starting to feel your shoulders or those arms, rub on the straps. Take them a little higher. Think about the core being engaged. A common mistake we see is this where people have the top half of their body go. Your core is nice and tight. Lift up on that pelvic floor. Tighten on those legs and your entire body is lowering. Feels too easy. Walk those feet back. Too tough. Walk them in. Let's add at the bottom. Run it. 4, 3, 2, 1. Press it up. The other option, full press. 4, 3, 2. Run it here. Either one. Run at the bottom. Yes. Strong arms or run at the top. Core is engaged. Adding some power. Press it up. 3, 2, 1. Relax it out. Big stretch forward. All right, we're gonna alternate with this one. So we got 30 seconds, then we'll give ourselves a little breather. 30 seconds, right? 30 seconds left. We're gonna alternate forward lunge like we did in our warm up. That's going to give us a good mobility stretch after that chest press. So let's start here. Then we'll take it to our runners. Lunge out in front, forward lunge. Here we go. Step it big circle around. Really lean away, just like we did in our mobility warm up. I want you to lean away so you get that chest stretch right. We just did all that work with that upper body. We're switching gears to lower body, but we're taking it here. So we also get a stretch, big chest opener. If you're feeling too much slack, step forward so you really get it right. Make sure you're also dropping into the lunge because that's what we got coming. Shake it out. All right, watch me, team. We're gonna take our arms on the outside of the straps so it's going to look like this. Elbows, hands on the outside. I'm going to lean into it here. Sprinters, lunge or runner's lunge here. Drive it up. You can keep it there. You can do a little jump. We're gonna go 30 seconds regular. 30 seconds jump on the right, then the left. Let's get it done. Lean into it, drop it low. Elbows on the outside. Here we go. Start with just the Knee. Take it low, power it up. So, yes, you are leaning forward. You're getting those triceps working. You're keeping the shoulders working, but you're here. Drive it up. Take it low. Drive it up. No jump yet. We're gonna add that if you want. I know what's with these lunges with the three rounds. Come on, Amy. Here we go. Low to high. Stay forward. That's where our core is engaged. Ready? Here we go. Drive it up. Yes. Take it up. Yes, team. If that is too much, you keep just the lunge in the knee, or you go back to that, alternating. If you want the mobility, the stretch, take it there. Can you hang with me for 15 more? I think you can. Keep it forward. Remember that core is working. Elbows are in tight outside of the straps. Three, two, one. Stretch it out. Give yourself a breather. Same thing. Other side. So again, we're leaning into it. So if you want to give your hands a little break. Leaning into it. Arms on the outside. Triceps, chest and shoulders working. Sprinters lunge with the knee. Sprinters lunge with the jump. Find those straps. Come on the outside. Right through here, we have these longer rest periods. I want you to need them, right? Get that heart rate up where it almost feels too short. All right? Other knee forward. Lean into it. Here we go. Drive it up. Drop low in the lunge. Drive it up. Low in the lunge. So you know why this is called sprinters, right? Sprinters taking off their blocks here to here. That's what we're going for. I want you to lean forward into it because that gets that core working along with our lower body, also arms to stabilize. So it's really a full body move. Driving in. And here, are we ready? Let's add that knee. Here we go. Drive it up. Bring it up. Yes, you can. In and up. Power through. If you start to feel like those elbows are going out, pull them back in. Adjust that core. Open your chest. Breathe. I know. I'm feeling it too. Team. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Burn. Grab some water after that. I know I got you feeling it. All right, guys, triceps. So I want you to think of your triceps as the opposite of your biceps. Biceps. We're pulling them here. Triceps. We're pushing it out. We're going to start with just tries. They're already tired because they were just stabilizing. But we're here. Join me here. Walk those feet back. Elbows in. Lower tricep, elbows, extension. Go ahead. Find that positioning. Zip up your Core walk back. Remember, your muscle memory is going to want to do the chest press, so keep them out in front of your body. Here we go. Down. Push it up so those elbows stay in alignment with the shoulders. What you don't have to do is bring that head here with your arms behind you, right? You want at least a 90 degree angle, maybe a little bit, little bit more, but you're gonna feel it either way. Feels like too much. Put one foot forward, but still get that push through your triceps so you're not using your legs, you're using your arms. Five, four. Core engaged. Three, two, one. Stretch it up. All right, team, going into Superman, I'm gonna give you a few seconds to get into it. You're gonna walk it back. Superman looks like this. Bring those arms back. Power forward. We're gonna add the triceps at the top. You can add a little jump if you want. Here we go. Take it back. Power up triceps. Take it back. Power. Elbows in triceps. If you want a little jump back, jump forward tries. Jump back. Forward tries. Burn those arms. Yes, you can. Breathe. Ha. Take it back. Last one. Breathe. Stretch it out right here. Ha. I know, team. I feel it too. Quick sip. We're turning back around. Could you just shake it out? Give your hands, your wrists. Going to take a little bit longer to give our wrists a little bit of a break. One of the things that sometimes gets us tap behind reach with TRX is that it's a lot of gripping, so we sometimes feel soreness in our forearms, our wrist right up through here. So let's take a little cardio mobility break. If you want more mobility, just move through it here. If you want more cardio, take it through here. We got a couple more things. Facing you, your anchor point. We're gonna keep it short. Then we're gonna get some shoulders back and a little bit of legs. Then we're taking it down to the mat, and then we're gonna finish right there. Ten seconds. Breathe. Hands are getting a break. Three, two, one. All right, team, facing your anchor point. Here's what I want. We're gonna take it to a curtsy lunge. All right, here's what we got. We're gonna alternate. We're giving those legs a break. I want you to try to keep the foot off the ground. Side to side, crossover lunge. Then we're going right into 30 seconds with a skater. All right, Giving you a break because we're alternating. Instead of right side, left side. Try to get low. Try to keep that back foot off the ground facing your anchor point. Here we go. Step, cross behind, step center, cross behind. If you need to take that toe down. Keeping good form if you're able. Keep the back toe off the ground. Still get low, curtsy into that outer thigh and hip. We're going to add the power in just a few seconds with a little speed skater. You can keep it right here or. Or. Here we go. Hit it. Eyes up. Even though you're a little bit hinged, what I don't want is this, right? So eyes and chest up. If you want to tap that back toe down, you can. If you want to keep it off the ground, keep it off the ground. Total body power. Getting it done. Ten more seconds. Three, two, one. All right, team. So something fun. Let's get it done. We're gonna do a TRX power pull. A few different ways to do this. We're gonna take one strap. Now you can do it. One strap this way. As long as you've got that safety. Otherwise cradle through the triangle. Pull it through. Hold them again. Cradle through the triangle. We're creating one strap. Do what's best for you. If you're comfortable with this, I'll show you one more time. So we're gonna go right side, left side. Handles, cradles. Cradle through the triangle. Pull it through. Cradle again through the triangle. All right, One tight strap. One. Watch me here. Power pull. I'm gonna open up. I'm gonna pull up in the row and I'm aiming to be here. Not too much of a twist, but lots of power. All right? You can do it. I want you to pull up strong. What we don't want is too much slack. I really want you to think one sided row. If that doesn't feel good for you, I want you just to do one sided row and give yourself not too much much of an angle. Okay, 30 seconds right. 30 seconds left. Back to basics. Is just your row, but we're not going to go through it. We're gonna get right into that. Power pull. Take it back, open it up. Feel that stretch. We're going in 3, 2, 1. Power pull. Let it drop. Open it up. Power pull again. I know that's a lot because it is all of your body weight on one side too much. Keep it center, keep those shoulders square and take it one side, elbow in. Let it drop. If you can power open it up. It's a good spinal mobility move as well. Let it drop. 3, 2, 1. Switch your sides. Here we go. Open up. Power pull. Open up. Open. Big, strong power. Not a complete twist of your torso, but coming up to touch on the inside of the strap. Elbows in that row. Again, modification is here. Or go back to your regular row here. And power. Yes. Down and up. Down and up. Yes, you can. Three, two, one. And relax. All right, team, quick sip right through here. All right. We're taking it to something we haven't done in a while. As long as you have that same strap, you may have to bring it down just a bit. Fit. I have to take mine all the way down. So you want to keep your single strap. I'm going to give you some different options for this. We're going to come into a suspended lunge with one foot in, but we're going to start really low. So here are your options. If it feels too off balance, put yourself next to the wall or something to balance. Then I want you to take it to a kneeling and you're just going to come here and then you're going to drive it up with power. If you are able to, I want you to come on down, reach behind, put your foot in that one strap. And we're starting here. We're getting a nice good stretch. It is a very advanced move. If that's not right for you, I want you to stay on the ground with no strap. But if you can reach behind, it might take a few seconds to bring it in. Watch me here. 30 seconds extending up from that lower leg. 30 seconds driving it up to here, or with a little jump if you're feeling up for it. That's very advanced. Only do it if you're okay with it. Again, if you need to be next to a wall, take it next to a wall. It's power. Let's do it. Drop it down into that kneeling. Hands here. Core engage. Here we go. Press up, drop it down. Press up, drop it down. You can also think of it as bringing the knee in. Drop it down. If you need to be a little higher, take it here. I actually think you get the little break when you drop that knee down. So hands or fingertips, in and out. Extend it up, drop it down. Yes, you can. You can keep it just right here or drive it up, drop it down. Drive it up. Yes, you can. If you want to add a little bit jump, that's advanced. Only do what you're comfortable with. Listen, I know these are very challenging moves, so if you don't feel stable, you can still get it with no strap. Down on the ground, power it up. Yes. Breathe. And here. Three, two, one. Relax. I Fell. Right. All right, team, let's take it here. So other foot forward. Get a little hip flexor, stretch from that. Usually you want to take your opposite one and grab it here. All right, we got 30 seconds. 30 seconds. Feel that stretch. Power up. Hands on the ground. Power up to standing. With or without a jump, you do what's best for you. If you need to rest your legs, you rest your legs. We got core and upper coming. 3, 3, 2, 1. Here we go. Bring it up. So you can just think of it as extension through that front leg, or bring that knee in, drop that knee back down. Really try to get that lengthening so you get that hip stretch. You should feel that natural hip opener this side, and hip flexor right through here. Drop it down. All the way through. Drop it down. Ha. Here we go. You can keep it here or bring it up. Find that balance down. Love to do these with my training clients because there's so many variations. I don't put them in workouts a ton because they're tricky to get into. Right. But if you're into this, you're comfortable with it. It's a great way to add some power, to add some variety. Three, two, one. See, it's tough for me too. All right, team, stretch that out. Bring it down. I know. Whoo. All right, how we doing? How about we make our arms work a bit? I want you to take two fingers. We're gonna put our heels in. I know it's gonna think. You're gonna think about hamstrings, but roll back. But we're starting with just upper, so we're here. Take it here, hands behind. So what I want you to do is roll into. Think of it as that reverse plank. You're gonna lift. I'm tight through there, so I'm gonna push it out. Lift, and then bring it down. Push through and lift. Bring it down. If that doesn't feel good for you, you can bend your knees here. Take it to here. Bring it up. Or keep the feet on the ground. Here. Bring it up. So many options. If you can put your heels in the straps, it's gonna add a little challenge for you. So let's take it in three. It's gonna feel like your feet aren't in anything. I know that feeling. Here we go. Three. Three, two, one. Bring it up. You're gonna feel how tight you are through there, right? It's a chest opener as well as a tricep. Right? We're getting triceps. We're getting shoulders. We're opening up in the chest. And of course, working those wrists. They need a breather. Again. Bring the knees in. Take it here. Right, you can straighten it out. 3, 2, 1. Relax it down. Take it down on your back. All right, I gotta mix up my straps here. Down on your back. Try to keep those heels in. Give your wrist a break. Let's get a little bit of core. We're gonna start with just a crunch. Hands to elbows. We're gonna add some power. Coming all the way up. If that's right for you. In 3, 2, 1, crunch. Lift the shoulders. Arms go out extended here. Almost think of it as that double leg stretch from Pilates. Bring it up, take it out. Hup. And out. There we can. There we go. Yes, you can. Right through here. Bring everything in tight with that core. You can keep it right there or all the way up. Roll it up. You can still touch those ankles. Take it all the way down. Roll it up using your core. What I don't want you to do is use momentum. So tilt the pelvis deep core knees into your chest. Yes, you can. And breathe. Power through. And up. Full burn. And up. Last one. And relax. Ha. Stretch it out. All right, heels in. One last time, we're gonna lift the hips from the knees in. We're gonna run it so it is a runner. We're going right into the power because we don't need a whole lot of extra legs, but let's isolate those hamstrings. So knees in, lifting that hip bridge, then one out, and then the other feels like too much. You can run it with your hips down, and you'll still get the mobility out of it. A little less hamstrings, but if you can. Knees in. Lift it up. Here we go. Run it. 30 seconds. Hamstrings, glutes, yes. You're strengthening around your knees and those kneecaps as well. You're gonna feel. Feel it all the way through. So hang with me. Try to keep those hips up. Yes, you can. We are so close to being done with this workout. Hang out with me. I know my legs are feeling it too. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Take those legs out. Get a little stretch right here. I know, I know. I wanted to bring the burn and the power today. I think we're doing it right. A little stretch, making sure those straps are at that lower length. I know we didn't take a lot of time getting into it because we were single strap, but they should be about 8 to 10 inches off the ground for me when I'm standing. Knees Are at the handles, cradles about mid calf, so make sure they're where you want to be. We're coming into a plank. Almost done in that plank position. Flip up those straps, hold them up like dirty socks. Roll back, stick your toes in, roll it over. Whatever you need to do to get into it. I actually have to do. Excuse me. Getting over a little bit of a cold here. Whatever you need to do to get into it, hold them up, flip it over. Watch me here. We're gonna start with our elbow plank. Then we're gonna add some power with knees in with little pike. All right, 30 seconds. 30. 30 seconds. We'll get a breather in between. We're not going to do too many planks because I know we're tired, but let's get that core working. Zip up that core. Everything's pulled in. You can have your wrist here or here. Whatever feels good for you. If you need to drop to the knees at any point, hold it here. 3, 2, 1. Here we go. So we're just holding on this first one. All these things I want you to think about nice and tight in your legs and your glutes. If I were to touch your quads right now, they'd be a solid rock, right? Little tilt of the pelvis. Not here. That'll be really hard to hold, but not dropping it down. So tilt the pelvis. If you need the knees, take it here. If you need to take your toes out of the straps, just hold a regular plank. All of those options work. We're holding nice and tight for 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1. Yes, you can. All right, team, breathe for a few seconds. We're gonna bring the knees in. Watch me. Little lift of the hips. That's your power. Power pike, join me in three, two, one. Here we go. Lift and down. Bring it up. Take it down. Ha. Yes, you can keep it going. If at any point drop to those knees or just hold. I would much rather you readjust to get good form than to push through and feel it in your back. 10 seconds. So close. Yes. Burn. 3, 2, 1. Stretch it back side to side. I know, team. All right, this is it. Two sets of 30 and then we're done. We're gonna come up into that high plank. We're up. We're gonna go out, out. In, in one and then the other 30 seconds. Then we're gonna add a little push up arm drop. I'll show you that when we get to it because we'll get a break in between. Let's bring it up. In that high plank. Knees underneath the hips, hands underneath the shoulders. Here we go. Bring it up. Take it out. 1, 2, 1, 2. Right, left, right, left. Play around with bringing those knees in closer towards your chest. Can you get them to the elbows? Right, out, out. In, in. Yes, you can. I know you can. I'm feeling it, too. Keep that pelvis tucked. Drop to the knees if you need a break, then bring it right back. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Stretch it back. Last thing before we stretch. Right here, team. We're gonna bring it up. We're gonna take it all the way down. Superman. Little lift and squeeze. Power up. You can use your knees to come up, then up. Or you can come all the way up. 30 seconds. So think of it as push up. Superman. All the way up to plank. Last power move, last move of the day. Give it all you got. Hang with with me. You made it this far. 3, 2, 1. Slowly lower down. Elbows back. Little lift and squeeze. Come up knees or toes. So you notice I'm coming up on my knees first and then lifting. So it's a little bit of a hybrid. You can also go here, then come up. Right up to you.
