Carlsberg is an 8-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding by Stay in Puissance, trained in dressage, jumping, and cross-country. He has automatic flying changes, scopey jumping, and consistent soundness. The seller is offering him after a partner's death and says he's rare to find at this level in the U.S.

Hello everyone. We're presenting Carlsberg for sale. Carlsberg is a 2012 imported Irish sport horse. He's a gelding, he's magnificently bred, he's by the wonderful Stay in Puissance. And then he's out of a cruising mare and that cruising mare's father was Cloverhill. So it's as good as you can get for Irish sport horse eventing breeding. My longtime supporter Steve Blowner and I own him in partnership. Sadly, Steve passed away earlier this year and we're in a position where we have to sell him. Steve and I purchased this horse as a three year old at the Go for Gold Gauzebridge sale in Ireland. We sort of sorted through all the good looking 3 year olds and he was, I think the best horse in the auction. He obviously has got the movement and the presence for dressage. Carlsberg is really quiet and straightforward to ride on the flat in the dressage shows. He doesn't change to the horse that we have at home. The judges love him. He's rarely out of the 20s and even on a bad day he's usually in the top three placings after the dress. He's got a brilliant walk, trot and canter. He's very easy to get round. He's got a beautiful mouth and has been very, very well schooled. The rider you see here is my assistant rider, young Michael Pendleton, that's helped me with the training over the years. You'll see here, this is Carlsberg's new trick. He's got beautiful soft, clean flying changes that are just automatic now. Carlsberg's competed up to the intermediate level. He's won at every level, including intermediate. He's a beautiful horse to ride in all three phases. He's the sort of horse that you can give a couple of days off on and you hop on him and there's no drama about just getting straight back to work. In the jumping. Carlsberg's got a real naturally careful, scopey jump. This is one of the things that really attracted to me at the auction. It was only a three year old and they were jumping him about a meter 40. Free jumping. Obviously with his pedigree, he was born to jump. It's very, very unusual that he has a rail down at the competitions. For me he's got a very, very good technique and plenty of scope in the show jumping. We still just use the snaffle bridle as he doesn't get strong. I've actually competed him in official show jumping shows. He's jumped up to meter 25. In my opinion, this horse eventually will be very comfortable around the meter 40 classes. Carlsberg's got a great gallop like the dressage and show jumping. He doesn't get strong in the hand living at a cross country course. He's been very, very well schooled and well educated in the cross country. He gallops along with quite a light contact and I find it very easy to see a stride on him. Carlsberg's been a very sound horse. He really hasn't missed a day's work since coming to us in his three year old year. I really think Carlsberg would make a wonderful horse for someone out there. I think he's got the quality to be a big time horse. He's also quiet and relaxed enough that he can make an excellent amateur's horse.
