Watch as well.
Yeah, he scored it in Galway. He was a 34.8. That was again the four star. But his other scores down in the three stars were all on the 20s.
So some of these riders had the option to choose the music that they got to take their tests too. So be hearing a lot of different stuff today, which will be fun.
Yes, there's a wide variety. There's Pearl Jam, there's Journey, there's loads of things. It's quite a nice start to this test.
I really love this forest. He just creates. Creates such a nice shape. It's a beautiful picture to watch. Always so uphill in his shoulder.
This is one of three horses today Boyd Martin will be riding, will be quite busy this weekend. His wife Silva was here yesterday. Oh, yeah. Doing some dressage lessons. Getting everybody tuned up for today.
Yeah, I think she's been spending most of this winter in Pennsylvania, so I'm sure she was really thrilled to get down here. Some sunshine,
Boyd and a horse that we all see later today, Sister Leg, the double gold medalist at 2019's Pan American game. So Boyd is obviously no stranger to riding under pressure.
Pressure. Absolutely not.
Wow, that is lovely. You can see the horse balance staying quite up a hill. Very good in the bridle. Good connection, smooth back to the collected trot. Wow.
Square up.
And the rein back is five steps on the nose.
All right.
And a lot of these tests leading up the levels, it'll be, you know, 4 to 5, 3 to 5, and this one is very specific in that it is 5.
This is also the same dressage test they will be riding at Land Rover next month.
Yeah, it's not too long now.
No,
it's really good practice for a lot of these horses that will be going to Land Rover to get in the ring and practice this test.
It.
This medium canner here comes across to P. He sets off to prepare for his first of four flying changes this morning at a. A little bit late.
Ludwig is also looking pretty relaxed in here as well.
This is actually.
This ring does have a bit of atmosphere. There's a lot to look at. These first two horses this morning have been super professional.
Yeah, you can't see it from on the tv, but there's quite a bunch of individualized tents for some of the sponsors.
Second change was cleaner than the first.
This next movement, the working canter, allowing the horse to stretch down at sea would be quite challenging on one. That's a bit keyed up at the end of the test, wouldn't it?
Yeah, it certainly Is
knowing that they've got two changes now on the short diagonal. Right. Coming right up.
That's a little bit of a harder movement too to go into. Two changes from cuz they get a little bit long and over the back for the changes. You need them real up in front. Very expressive.
One more. Good.
That's a pretty good one too.
Holly. Absolutely. Great first two tests of the day. Boy, it'll be very happy with that.
The Odenburg Bay Garling.
He's currently in seventh place tied on a score of 28.3. And if he can go double clear here, he will be tied with himself again with Luke 1:4 0. Stable mates trying to show each other up a bit. Competing for a spot on the Olympic team maybe. That's right. Getting a bit lucky there. Such a big beautiful horse. Nicely done. He should be over the moon. He had three unbelievable dressage tests today. Oh yeah. This horse was formerly ridden by Peter Barry. I think Boyd took over the ride five years ago. All right. Nicely done. So let's see what his time is. All right. It's getting exciting. Three left to go. Boyd's third and final ride of the day as he is off.
Really solid in the first two phases on this horse. Beautiful dressage test and show jump clean yesterday. German bred horse initially found by Peter Berry, Canada.
He knows how fast he's got to go. Horse is looking just full of running today. Again. Long Island T sitting on a 28.3. He could. If he has a double clear he could go ahead of Liz Halliday Sharp and Fernhill by night she is sitting on a 28 point. You know, remember she had that little slip off the bank and so she unfortunately added two time faults so Boyd could catch her here.
It's kind of fun to watch how competitive everyone is. There was not one person's come out here and said I think I'll just have a jaunt around Bruce's field today. Every one of them has gone for it. Such a competitive group of athletes.
Really exciting and so many fun different shapes and exercises. These horses and riders get to school and practice today through the water complex
for the first time.
Carolina Bay flower box at fence eight. Boyd inside 16 here as he sets up to jump out beautiful out of that corner. Nicely ridden through there for Boyd and Long Island.
Two fences we talked about early on. The bounce up or Boyd's approaching and then reach a little bit for the count and got it nicely. Those two fences back to back. The ones riders were just expressing interest on the walk really caused Very. You know, just one issue at each of those fences, so.
All right, Boyd and Long island tee fence 13, the memorial gate, sponsored by Holland Eventing.
Found our foundation picture frame
again. If he goes double clear today, he will sneak inside. Right inside. Liz Halliday Sharp. So he's on a 28.3. She is on a 28.5. 4. Talk about tight.
Oh, yeah. So he can't afford a second.
He cannot afford a single second.
And he'd be fully aware of that as he's going around.
Oh, he know. He knows who. Who's where in the standing. And again, one of the other exciting parts of this weekend is all these riders are on teams, people can bet, and sponsoring new or. All the proceeds will go towards the. Wow, he slipped a bit there, too. To the local charities, which is such a wonderful thing for this sport and everybody here to be able to give back to the community of Aiken. All right, what do you think?
He's very close. Very, very close.
Again, he cannot afford a single time fault if he wants to move into the lead. Oh, I don't know.
I think he's gonna be over.
He's over.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
All right, well, we will give you his score 1.2.
Did you see he had a little. Little kerfuffle off that?
So he is currently unprovisionally on a score of 29.5, which will move him.
