Hi, my name's Boyd Martin. I'm an Olympic three day event rider. I'm going to run you guys through my morning routine. It's about an hour that I wake up around 5, 5:15, 5:30, get down, go through the process of having my morning shake. Doing some rolling, some stretching, coffee, my ice plunge. Sort of a routine that I do seven days a week that really prepares me for the day. First thing I do is chomp on the scales. This is a great self check to see where you're at. So most importantly, first things first. Got to feed the cat, he's dying of hunger. It's always good to connect with an animal first thing in the morning. I love a coffee first thing in the morning. Caffeine's key. Now remember, try and drink more water than coffee through the day. I use honey in my coffee and then I've also fallen in love with silk almond creamer. It has that French vanilla taste. It's a little bit healthier and to be honest, I just love the taste of it. Beyond the coffee, every morning I take an athletic greens shake. Tastes horrible so I always add a little bit of honey. I also add some lubricant which is great for your joint health. I've been using it for the last couple of years. You can't really even taste it and it's been really, really beneficial. We also like to throw in a little bit of ice, half a banana, Sort of get something in your stomach before you get your day started. As I'm enjoying my morning coffee and shake, I often get the massage guns out. I've had a few injuries over the years in my quadriceps and hips. I used to watch the news every morning, but it started making me depressed. Now I put David Goggins on YouTube. Gets me fired up for the day. You have to learn to perform without motivation. You have to learn to perform without purpose. Each morning I spend 45 minutes to an hour downstairs in the basement. Some mornings I work with a physiotherapist down here. Some, some mornings I train with Biz, my yoga instructor. I'm going to run you through my routine. If I'm just hanging out by myself. First things first. Alexa is important. Alexa, play blackmill some nice relaxing tunes to get started. Over the years I've had a few injuries in my hips and my groin. Each day I start with 5 or 10 minutes on the elliptical. I just feel like it gets my, my body moving, gets the heart going. Get your breathing. Also creates a little bit of motion through the stiffness of my pelvis. Before I stretch, I use the roller. Great trainer called Kenny Ray in Aiken taught me that rolling before stretching is. After rolling for 10 or 15 minutes. I then go into a series of stretches. Been lucky enough to work with tons of great physios and yoga instructors over the years. I've sort of got 10 or 15 stretches that really benefit my body. On a morning that I'm not working with a trainer or a physio, I've sort of got a bunch of great exercises. I try and pick out three or four exercises and do them three times each. After I finish 45 minutes or an hour downstairs Every morning I come out of my ice plunge this baby set at 39 degrees in the morning. I usually jump in there between one and two minutes. It's a real prick. It builds mental toughness. It's a real good way to jolt your body started and it really wakes you up. If that doesn't wake you up, I don't know what will. So after one or two minutes in the ice tub, I like to try and warm up naturally. Get the body warming up just from the great outdoors. I love to sit on the Beamer blanket. I love program 11. It's about a 10 minute program. It's a great therapy pre or post workout increases circulation. It's also another moment where you can take a deep breath, get fired up for the day. Horses use Beamer blankets as well. So guys, that's my morning routine. I hope you can take one or two bits and pieces. Definitely changed my life. I feel happier and healthier and ready to crack on with the day.
