In this sermon, the speaker emphasizes that the measure of faith a listener brings to God's Word determines how that Word works in their life. Citing Mark 4:24, the speaker explains that the amount of faith we apply to hearing Scripture will be the measure of what we receive. The sermon contrasts two responses to the same promise—one of belief and trust, the other of doubt and uncertainty—showing that the difference lies not in God's ability but in the listener's faith. Using the Parable of the Sower (Luke 8) as an illustration, the speaker highlights that the seed (God's Word) remains unchanged, but the soil (the heart) determines the harvest. The message urges listeners to adopt a larger measure of faith and expectation, to hear God's promises with belief, and to trust Him despite apparent obstacles. The sermon concludes with a prayer asking God to remove doubt, fear, and unbelief, and to help the congregation receive His Word with faith so it may produce a great harvest.

Today we're going to talk about the measure of faith we have with God's Word and our expectation to receive. In Mark 4:24, Jesus said, take heed what you hear. With that measure you mete, it shall be measured to you. In other words, the measure we bring to God's Word Word matters. When we open the Bible, do we come expecting God to speak to us? Do we come expecting him to work in our lives? Or do we come with doubt, skepticism, and unbelief? The truth is, 2 people can hear the exact same scripture and walk away with completely different results. One person hears God's promises and says, Lord, I believe you. I believe your word. If you said it, I trust you, Lord, to do it. Another hears the same promise and says, I don't know. I'm not sure God will do that for me. The difference isn't God's ability. The difference is the measure of faith each person brings to his word. In Luke 8, Jesus tells the parable of the sower. The same seed is scattered everywhere, but it produces different results depending on the condition of the soil. The seed didn't change. The word didn't change. The difference was how it was received. Then in Luke 8:18, Jesus says, "Take heed therefore how ye hear." How we hear God's word matters. Are we hearing with faith? Are we hearing with expectations? Are we hearing with a heart that says, "God, I believe you"? I'll be honest. There are promises in God's. That seems impossible when we look at our circumstances. Sometimes we see the bills, sometimes we see the obstacles, sometimes we see all the reasons why something can't happen, but faith looks beyond the circumstances and says God is still faithful. Today I'm choosing to bring a bigger measure of God's word. I'm choosing to believe his promises. I'm choosing to expect him to move in my life. I'm choosing to trust him with my future, and I encourage you to do the same. Bring God a measure of faith. Bring him a measure of expectation. Bring him a heart that believes his word is true, because when God's word is planted in good soil, it produces a harvest. Let's pray. Father, we come to you right now, Lord, to help us receive your word with faith. Remove doubt, fear, and unbelief from our hearts, Lord. Help us to trust your promises even when we cannot see how they will come to pass. Let your word take root in us and produce a great harvest for your glory. In Jesus' name, amen.
