VidCon is the epicenter of online video. As someone who's been to every single US-based VidCon, here's 3 bits of advice. 1. What pass should you get? VidCon offers 3 types of passes: Community, Creator, and Industry. Community is geared towards fans. The focus will be the expo floor and meet and greets. The Creator track is more for aspiring creators. The focus is panels and workshops led by well-known creators and industry experts with an emphasis on growth and monetization. Lastly, there's the Industry track. This is perfect if you work as a manager, publisher in a media company, you're a marketer, brand, or at a startup or platform. This track covers a lot of macro trends, insights, and often major announcements from platforms. 2. Where should you meet people? The entire industry is going to be there. If you're looking to network or take meetings, I highly recommend posting up at either the Marriott or Hilton bars. They're right next to the convention center, so they're easy to get to. 3. I highly recommend you plan your schedule in advance. There's a ton of great programming, and the website has it all laid out. When and where, what talks and events are happening. So take a look and put together a schedule. Lastly, DM me if you're going to be there and want to meet up. I'll be doing several talks and hanging out.
