Trung grew from zero to 350,000 Twitter followers in one year. The key: skip hashtags and @mentions in your tweet text. They make posts look like ads and kill engagement. Keep it plain, or mention people only in attached photos.

My buddy Trung went from 0 to 350,000 Twitter followers in a year, and I asked him what are common mistakes people make.
If you have lots of blue, which is the hashtags and a lot of @mentions, people just glaze over it, right? It looks like an ad or just doesn't look appealing. I keep it all text. If I want to @mention somebody, I put a photo and I tag them in the photo, and that way you don't clutter up the actual tweet itself.
