VidCon was awesome. It always is. Too many dinners, panels, and parties though made me procrastinate on putting together the presentation I was supposed to give Friday. I don't know how I got it all done. Wednesday night I got in and had a dinner with Tejas, Austin, Justin Moore, and a bunch of other creators. The next morning I moderated my first panel. It was with the CEO of LinkStyle, the founder of Jump, and the Chief Product Officer at Dapper Collective. We talked all things DAOs and Web3. 3. It was incredible. From there, I went and met up with some of my favorite creators. I was even recognized for my TikToks, which was a first for me, so thank you. I ended the night at the LinkedIn party and had some awesome late-night conversations. Friday morning, I went over to the Hyatt and had back-to-back meetings. Apparently, I forgot to film any of that. Somehow, between all the sleepless nights, I pulled off my final presentation, which was all about TikTok's recommended content strategy for brands. Full house. I was pumped. The next morning, I actually headed to my hometown. I had my high school reunion, which was Crazy. On the drive over there, I was thinking about what was different at this year's VidCon. And the takeaway that I came up with was how much the industry has become about empowering creators to build their own communities and brands. Creators weren't talking about scale, they were talking about community. And companies were focused on helping creators build their own brands versus working on behalf of brands. In short, the future of the creator economy is very much in the hands of creators, which I think is pretty awesome.
