A leaked New York Times chart shows how TikTok weights signals for its recommendation algorithm: monetization, publish rate, live streaming, social sharing, and POI. The speaker breaks down what each might mean and asks viewers to interpret the data.
Documents revealing TikTok's secret algorithm were leaked to the New York Times. Within the report is an unnamed chart. It appears to outline how the algorithm weights individual accounts. Surprisingly, TikTok seems to take into account monetization and publish rate. It also looks at live streaming, social, and POI. I assume social is referring to how much content is shared across platforms, and POI is likely points of interest, the engagement features like these. But what do you think it could be?
