So if you like this, you would love that training program. But without further ado, let's jump in right now to one of the Brendon show's best of trainings. Above the line. We know what gets you good in life. We know what gets you that first win, that first success. But what's the stuff above the line, the stuff that takes you to the new level? Because a lot of people get here, they plateau. What goes above the line? What are the three things that will take you there? Overall, in other areas of my life, what would move the needle the most for me to really progress to a new experience of life? To get this initial line of success, there's three components you all know we need to have. Number one, you got to have clarity. It is and always will be the fundamental element in terms of a performance improvement factor. It's everything. It's everything. You can have everything right in your life. But if you don't have clarity about what it is you want to move towards and how to get it, everything else will start to feel, at some point, very frustrating or emotionally, you will feel an incredible sense of restlessness because you won't be getting progress. Clarity is everything. No goals, no growth, no clarity, no change. You heard me teach that in life, school and ticket. And it's so important to understand that's what really most of your initial success came from. You said, well, I want to get this many clients. So you went out and tried to get that many clients. I want to learn this new skill. You learn this new system. You just knew what you wanted. And by knowing what you wanted, you were able to aim your efforts more towards that. Now, with greater levels of success often comes greater levels of clarity about what exactly you want in. Now, your first initial thought of clarity is pretty broad. Like, I kind of want this. I want a job in sales. And that's all you really got. So you get your job in sales, you're working in sales for a while, and then it's like, oh, okay, I want to focus on this type of customer. I want to sell this type of product. I want to reach this number of sales per week, per month, per year. And your clarity becomes even more narrow the more successful you become in terms of understanding what needs to happen. It doesn't mean that your vision doesn't also enlarge, but the clarity of what needs to be done and what the specific goals are narrows down, right? So that's happening in that initial round of success. It's really important to think about in every element you of my work in high performance from just the qualitative experience I've had over the years of just training and coaching so many people, from the feedback I see online of over 50 million people watching our videos, of the millions of comments I've literally read Personally, clarity is the central issue. What do I want? How do I get it? That is the foundation of the next level for everybody as well as the foundation of the first level for all of us. I mean, think about any momentum you've had recently. You probably just got clear about what you really wanted and what you need to do. You got at it. Is it true? So the good news is what got you below this line up to this first initial line of success, it's also going to take you up there. Clarity, that's going to be another amplifier. There's a. I can't tell you how many incredibly successful people I work with who for them, what happened is they got here, they got that line of success, they're kind of plateauing now and they need to reevaluate where they're at. In other words, what do you really want now? Now, you know, you had that one career, it went well, and here you are sitting at the top of it, or maybe you're in the middle, but what do you want now? Things have been good. You've been a SWAT team your whole life. Things are just cranking along. Everything's great now. You got some kids, so what do you want now? You know, there's always a life change, there's always a new situation. So clarity is an ongoing thing. We need to reevaluate. And unfortunately, too many people, they hit initial success and then they just, they stay fixed in their mindset. That's what it is. They don't adjust what they really want and how to get it based on the variabilities of life. In other words, they don't adapt. And because they don't adapt, meaning, level up that clarity for the new stage of life they're in, they just start running the same plays over and over and over again. And that's why they plateau. So many things have changed in their life. They didn't reevaluate. This is why it is so important for you to have a monthly and a weekly practice of review and intention. Review and intention. So every single month I have a list of. I think it's about 15 questions on there. That is in one of my journals that I ask myself on the first of every month. The first is my trigger. Every month we have a first of the month. When that first of the month hits that morning, I Look at these 15 questions and they just help me reevaluate my life. That's all. They just help me go, okay, it's a new month. Where am I at in these major areas? Of my life. If you're in High Performance Academy, you know these major areas, it's in your first module or two of High Performance Academy. It's the stuff where we talk about your health, your mission, your family, your friends, your hobbies, how you're influencing people, your work, all that stuff is in there. And I just evaluate where am I at in these now? Because it changes. And if I don't keep my eye on them, I lose clarity. People make this mistake all their life. Their moments of clarity come either when a something bad happens, somebody dies, they get hurt, or New Year's rolls around. And it's why they don't experience a lot of constant progression. Because they're not constantly forcing clarity make sense. I'm constantly progressing. I force clarity. I don't wait for a moment to happen anymore in my life. The first of every month, I force clarity in my life. Some people do it by they journal every day or every week or whatever. I just feel like, what questions should I ask myself every month? It's different for everybody. Am I following my values? What's most important to me this month? What should I focus on in my relationship this month? What does my team need from me this month? What would be the best thing I can do to advance my health this month? What would take my business to a new level this month? These types of check ins will change your life. And you cannot wait for a guy like me to tell you you should do this or New Year's to roll around or somebody to get hurt for you to do this. In constant evaluation of how clear we are for our life, we start to experience more constant progression. Without those check ins, I'm telling you, you will plateau more. Most of the successful people I've worked with at a one on one level in my life, what happened for them is they were successful, they were running their route, they were implementing, they were good. And then one day they woke up and it was a surprise to them. They were like, I'm not happy anymore. I don't know what happened, Brendan, I don't know what to do. And I said, well, how long have you sensed this? Well, I don't know, just recently in the last year or two, I've been restless. I said, you've been restless for a year or two and you're just now asking the questions of what's next? You need to ask what's next every month. Not so that you can be constantly forced on this, you know, just this treadmill of change just for the sake of change. But for the reality that the world is in chaos, for the reality that every variable is changing around our lives right now as the speed of technology and the speed of our culture is changing so significantly, you need to reevaluate every month. Not so you change the fundamentals, but you even ask, where am I in my fundamentals? Clarity will help you get that first level, but it will also ensure that you don't plateau. That makes sense. I'll get to the bigger needle movers too. But I'm here to share with you. Clarity is everything, and you cannot wait for it to happen. If you are waiting more than a month for it to happen, you're waiting too long. And I really want you to hear that. People think they need to go to a seminar once a year, and that seminar once a year is sufficient. I'm like, are you kidding me? That discipline of asking new questions every month, of being on this journey of making high performance a monthly check in, that's the value, that's the breakthrough. That's where we really learn. That's the big stuff, man. Gotta have that clarity. The second thing we know moves you to success is competence. Learning more and getting better at the skills of life that will move you forward. So I want you to think about this. If you had any success in your life, here's how it happened. You had some desire, clarity, and then you got to the hustle, you got to the work, you got to the grind, you worked at it, you jumped in and actually started doing the thing. And then you, like, you started getting better at it. And then you knew what to focus on and you got better at that. In other words, your competencies, your knowledge, your skill, your ability and your adaptability, that's your competence that grew. That grew because you were in it, man. You were in it. You were in that daily stuff of it. You were on the job training, and because you were in it, you got better at it. So if that's true, and that's what led to some of your initial successes, my friends watching this, if you're a business owner, it's time to get back in it. What brings us up also with that first initial success and maintaining that success, as well as amplifying it, is our levels of discipline, right? It's hard to be disciplined, especially today, because there's so many distractions. I mean, there's a bajillion distractions. This is just a tool. I look at this, this is a box of discipline for me. Most people, this is their box of distraction for me. This is my box of discipline. I have this thing set up so that throughout the day, alarms go off to remind me of how to be and how to interact with people and what makes me successful. All day, alarms are going off. I use this to schedule things that I want to make happen. I use this thing. This thing doesn't use me. And I think if you think about it too, as much as in your first initial rounds of success, you were clear, you were competent, you were disciplined, and you were really going at it. You know, that discipline, I bet. Think about a time in your life where you really broke through. You know, I think about, like, my bankruptcy, and my back was really against the wall those next 18 months. I was never more disciplined, I think, in my entire life. I mean, every minute of every day, I was at it, I was in it, I was doing the grind. And my discipline for distraction removal was so huge. My discipline for work was so huge. Even the way I thought about, like, eating was just a function of discipline to help me do more stuff. Like, everything was just. I mean, I was SWAT teaming everything. Doesn't mean I didn't have family and friends and my lady at the time to deal with. Still had life just like everyone else. But, man, I was focused. And I bet the same thing happened for you, too. You know, 2008 to 2012, you know, many parts of the world, the economy was in the trash. People were terrified. And everyone's saying, oh, all these businesses, they're dying, and, oh, everything. And it's true, it sucked. And it was universal. The market tanked, Main street tanked, but not everybody tanked. Those, for me, were my rocking and rolling years. Had nothing to do with the economy, had nothing to do with the customers. It had to do with my ability to be in it with my customers, to know what you all were working on, what you wanted, what you needed. My discipline to work harder than I ever did. Because I said, if the economy's down, I'm going to double down. Here we go. Let's rock it. This is my time. Let's crush it. Everyone else is begging and pleading and crying and blaming. I'm going to take responsibility, I'm going to investigate, I'm going to try, I'm going to experiment. If everyone's saying, well, this failed over here, I'm going to try 50 other things over here, I'm going to get there. And I fought and we broke through. And that only came from a disciplined passion to be in it, to know what I wanted. But, Winston, remember those roaring Times you were working, let yourself do that once in a while. Now you also know the flip side of that. In high performance, we're always talking about your physiology. You got to renew yourself. You got to recover. You got to allow those eight hours of sleep every night even you pull that all nighter, then you got to find that eight hours to catch up. But I mean, that's what got you that initial line of success. Huge amounts of desire, hunger, passion, that is clarity. Huge levels of work, of hustle, of competence, of learning, of persevering through all that. So you got smarter and better. Huge amounts of discipline, trying, testing, practicing. That's what got you there. That's stage one, my friends. That's always stage one. All right, my friend, I hope that you enjoyed that best of episode. Was that inspiring? Were you fired up?
