Well, you hear me talk about many of those concepts in these special episodes here. These are my best of trainings only and exclusively right here on the Brendon show. So I hope you enjoyed them. Please note that as you hear me speak in many of these, you'll hear me reference something because sometimes I'll have been training live or on video or on stage or through a broadcast. So you might not be able to see something I'm suggesting or motioning to or maybe even drawing out on a flip chart or motioning towards on a presentation, but you'll get the gist of it. So make sure you bust out your journal. Just take some good notes here because this is really valuable insights on the mindset or the strategies that you need to adopt in order to improve your life. And if you want to go and get more content like this, but much more deeper and have more of an interactive relationship with me in this type of training, make sure you join our high performance monthly training program. That's our monthly subscription program where I go live with you and our high performance students every single month and I train on a new topic or a new piece of research that we've created from the high performance institute and I train on that and then I do Q and A and actual live coaching, interactive coaching with people every single month. So if you like this, you would love that training program. But without further ado, let's jump in right now to one of the Brendon show's best of trainings.
You have to take back your morning if you want to reignite your life. You got to get Your morning back. If you're just jumping into the morning like most people do, which is really jumping into a state of reaction. Did you know 86% of smartphone owners, the first thing they do in the morning is reach over, grab their phone and check in. So they grab that thing, they look at their email, which immediately stresses them out. They're not even at their foot, hasn't hit the floor. They're already stressing themselves out. They haven't even started the day. In other words, they're letting the world and this little device set the frame for what their day is going to be like, what they're going to feel, what they're going to focus on and what's important. They're living a life of reaction. I always tell people the inbox is nothing but a convenient organizing system of other people's agendas. So if you wake up in the morning and you immediately check in, you are checking out of intention of conscious will, checking out of the dreams that you were dreaming about. And now you're just reacting to the world. Now I know maybe you're not like that. Maybe you don't get up and check your phone right off the bat. If you do, I want you to stop. Don't worry, I'll tell you what to do. But maybe it's not the phone, maybe it's the kids or maybe it's the news, or maybe it's something that you've convinced yourself you have to do in the morning that you hate. Here to tell you, if we can get your morning started on the right foot, you know the day is going to be better. So here's what I want you to do. I want you to memorize a simple little acronym. Every morning I want you to amp your morning. Amp A M P. The A that stands for affirmations, the M that stands for movement or meditation, and the P stands for prioritization.
So let's just jump in because I.
Know that doesn't sound sexy, but I promise it will feel sexy. You're going to love your mornings from now on.
Here's the first one.
Affirmations. I know that sounds like old school self help talk, but listen to the power of, of this. If you will wake up your body, but you also will learn to wake up your voice, you will start to do something very simple and that is start to set the foundation of a positive emotion throughout the day. Here's what I mean. You know, if you wake up, I don't know how your thoughts go in your morning, but a lot of People, they wake up and their thoughts are just reacting, oh, my God, I'm so stressed. I have all these things to do. Or they think, oh, it's another day. Or they're excited for the day, but they're worried about something. They're not starting from a place of strength and motivation each day. So what I want to do is give you a cue or a tool to make you do that, to start the day in a powerful place from your voice and your thoughts. And here's how to do that. The affirmations I want you to do each morning, I don't want you to just sit and think of something positive. What I want you to do is have something or a set of things that you read out loud every morning, right? So, for example, maybe you wake up and before you do anything else, before you check in or anything, you just wake up, you roll the side of the bed, you grab your Bible, or you grab a passage that you love from poetry, or you grab one of your favorite books, one of those paragraphs where you've underlined it so many times. And all I want you to do is I want you to sit there or stand there and. And I want you to read that passage with emotion. I want you to speak out loud. Project. Because we know that when you activate your voice, it also activates your thoughts and it also activates your body. And all these things fall in alignment with what you're reading. And as silly as it sounds, I just want you to try it. I mean, for 10 days. Would you do it just every day for 10 days? Wake up and read something positive out loud. I mean, really share it out loud and just see. I bet by the time you hit the shower, you're going to be better in the mood. By the time you go down to get the coffee, you'll be in a better mood. By the time you deal with the kids, you'll be coming from a place of strength and motivation that you didn't have before. If you'll just check in, not to other people's agendas, but something that's inspiring. So, for example, if I got a big day, like a really big day where I know a lot of people, like, I gotta give a presentation. I'll read, like something from Teddy Roosevelt. Or if I couldn't find something that's perfect, I'll write something the night before and I'll make myself recite that. It's so important. And I don't want you to do an affirmation like you write one sentence on a Post it and you put it on the mirror. That's nice, and it's a nice thought, but it doesn't get you in an overall state of being for positivity. What if we change the language in which you began each morning? You would feel different because your language is setting an emotion in place. And if you study the language of media, it's lack, it's scarcity, it's fear, it's anger, it's controversy, it's all the things that make us have that rubberneck effect where we look at the negative in life. I want you to start by voicing the positive in life. So I'm giving you this. It's a 10 day challenge. I want you to find your bible or find your book, or find your journal, find your favorite poetry, find a favorite song. It doesn't matter which. I just want you to have it. And I want it to be right next to bed. So when you wake up, you get up, you look at this thing and you don't just talk it, you kind of sing it, you project it. You put yourself into those words because those words will start to shape your life. That's the first part of taking back your day affirmations. Just read something positive, be in it. The second thing of that amp acronym is the M, which is movement. And this is so important. What I want you to do, you read that, you're all fired up. Boy, what a great time to get your workout in the morning. And if it's not your time to work out in the morning, then here's all I want you to do. I just want you to stretch for five minutes. That's it. Simple stretch. Look, you were asleep and you were laying prone for eight hours. Hopefully you slept eight hours. Now you're up, right? And I don't want you to just begin the day and start going through the motions. What I'd like you to do is stretch. Just spend at least five minutes. Could you do that? Just five minutes, opening up your body. Because you and I both know, you know, a lot of people, they gotta hop in their car and they commute all day. And have you ever felt where you're like you're stiff and because you're stiff, you're a little more impatient with people? Because the more tight you are, the more stressed you feel it and you know it, right? Because that's the feeling, right? You talk to people, they're stressed, they look like it. They're just like your physical body, though, when it's open and it's joyous you feel differently. I'm starting with words that make me feel happy and joyous. I'm moving my body in a way that opens it up. I. I'm already winning with simple little things. This doesn't take long. This isn't an hour or two or three. This is. I read a passage, maybe it takes 60 seconds, 90 seconds. Then I stretch. For me, my little secret. I go down into my basement, I open up the YouTubes and I type in 20 minute yoga or 10 minute yoga or 5 minute yoga. Just type that in. If you don't know what to do, type it into YouTube, 10 Minute Yoga. And try to do that every morning. Because if we can open up your body, we will open up your mind. If we open up your mind, we're.
Going to get a lot more energy in our day.
And the last piece of this one is so simple. The P A M P. Affirmations, movement, priorities. Before, we still haven't checked our phone, right? You're not doing yoga and checking your phone. You got it? Okay, the phone is over there. You have not checked in. You have done nothing. No media, no kids. Nothing has happened yet. You've affirmed, you've moved, and now you're going to prioritize. All I want you to do every single day before you jump into reacting to the world is set your own intention. And it could be as simple as this. Write down your three main goals for the day. These are goals. They're going to happen today. It's not necessarily a to do list. I got to get the grocery.
I got to do everything.
It's like, no, write down goals of something that you're going to do that's going to move the needle forward in your life. Just three goals. Just make sure those are goals. Like, okay, these I'm going to do today. For me, I like to go beyond the goals and prioritize. So the P stands for prioritization. And that prioritization is happening because you can't get to 3 unless you think of like the 10. I want you to prioritize anything you can think about that day and just boil it down to three things. These three things have to happen today. These are the priorities, okay? These goals must happen today. And then guess what? You get to do whatever you want the rest of the morning. And now if you want to check in to Facebook, have at it. But at least you're in a good place. At least you know what you're supposed to do today. And when you're in a good place and you know what you're supposed to do? Isn't it true that you feel better? Isn't it true you achieve more? Isn't it true you're a better mom, a better dad, a better caregiver, a better worker, a better owner? Isn't it true that everything in life, when you think about the ignition of life, comes from how you're feeling and.
What you're intending to do?
Let me say that again. Everything in life comes from how you're feeling and what you're intending to do. So we got to set the day up for that so that you can win. I just call it amp a m p. Affirm, move, prioritize, then do whatever you want. But that's taking your morning back.
