Hey my friends, it's Brendon Burchard and welcome to a best of edition of the Brendan show. These best of episodes feature training that I have done live, sometimes online to of thousands of people or live on stage where I was speaking on some.
Stages across the world.
Or these might be some of my monthly training programs and highlights of those that I do every single month with our monthly students. So I know you're going to really enjoy these because these are a little bit more of a deep dive look at some of my training as a personal and professional development trainer. You know, I focus so much on helping you find that deeper level of motivation and and start practicing some of those high performance habits. Well, you hear me talk about many of those concepts in these special episodes here. These are my best of trainings only and exclusively right here on the Brendon show. So I hope you enjoy them. Please note that as you hear me speak in many of these, you'll hear me reference something because sometimes I'll have been training live or on video or on stage or through a broadcast. So you might not be able to see something, I'm sorry, suggesting or motioning tool or maybe even drawing out on a flip chart or motioning towards on a presentation but you'll get the gist of it. So make sure you bust out your journal. Take some good notes here because this is really valuable insights on the mindset or the strategies that you need to adopt in order to improve your life. And if you want to go and get more content like this but much more deeper and have more of an interactive relationship with me in this type of training, make sure you join our high performance monthly training program. That's our monthly subscription program where I go live with you and our high performance students every single month and I train on a new topic or a new piece of research that we've created from the high performance institute and I train on that and then I do Q and A and actual live coaching, interactive coaching with people every single month. That's called high performance monthly and you can Access it at brendon.com monthly that's brendon.com forward/monthly b r e n d o n.com monthly to get deeper dive training similar to this. So if you like this, you would love that training program. But without further ado, let's jump in right now to one of the Brendon show's best of trainings.
How much do you really know about your network right now? It's always a good reminder for high Performance achievers. We're always looking for that next new opportunity. We're looking for that next new relationship. The network's new networking event. Meet, meet, meet, meet, meet, meet, meet. But never dive deep. So here's my question. Is there somebody you probably already know who has access to capital for you? Is there somebody you already know who, who could do a post for you to be seen by more people? Is there somebody already in your life who's asked you to let them help you more, but you haven't heard it? That happens when we get busy. You know, I'm guilty of it too.
Just like, you know, I'm always sharing with you in these, my real life.
And what I struggle with and what's a challenge for me too, but I'll share with you. One thing I've always tried to do is understand who's in my network and understand how can I add value to them? Understand what do they need specifically to.
Increase their happiness or their growth and.
Their joy, their abundance in life? To understand who do they know to understand how can I be of service to them? Because if you understand these things about your network, I mean really think about it. When I did masterminds, I'd have high level folks, $50,000 type clients in a room, and I'd give them this big huge poster board. I mean really big. I give them markers. And I said, here's what I want you to do. I want to draw a circle in the middle and that circle is you. And then I want you to draw out nodes and other circles of the immediate people around you. And then I want you to think, who's the most influential person that person knows? The most influential. And they keep drawing it out like this. Here's what I want you to do. Now go back to each of those bubbles and write these four things. Number one, what does that person know? What's their area of expertise, their skill, like their knowledge competency? Right. What do they, what do they know? Second, what do they need if they were going to succeed better? Third, who do they know who could be relevant or helpful to your path? And fourth, how can you serve them specifically tactically, like do something specific for them? And what I would make the audience do? My mastermind, what I would make them do is. And most of the time they didn't know those four things about these immediate bubbles, the acres of diamonds. Right on. They didn't know it. And so what I would do, I said, you want to become a high performer? Then tell you what, know your network better. Because People will lift you higher than.
You will ever be able to go.
By yourself as a high performer. And so you need to know the people around you, their skill sets, their knowledge, their needs, their interests, their network. So I'd make them do it, and they didn't know. I said, pick up the phone. So I haven't talked to this guy.
In five years, Brendan.
I only met him, you know, three times. We had lunch twice. I don't know. It's been five years. Call him. Ask him these four questions. Hey, can I call you? You know, when I met you, I never really got to know you that well. I just want to see how I could add some value here. Could I ask you a couple questions?
Always say yes.
And say, you know, what would you define as your main area of expertise? Something you're kind of like uniquely genius at? And then they share it. You write it down. Then you ask the rest of the questions I talked about. From what do they need to grow or be happier? Who do they know? Who's influential? What is? And that sounds like a weird question, by the way, but the way that.
You pose that question is, do you know?
You know, because they'll ask you, obviously.
What you do as well, or where.
You'Ve been or how you've been, or what do you need? Because once you ask something, they want to reciprocate with you. And then what you say is, you.
Know, do you know anyone who's interested.
In what I'm doing or could help or give any advice? That's the way you ask that. And then you ask them, what can I do for you? I mean, what do you need right now, in the next couple months that's coming up that maybe I could. I don't know if I can help specifically, but maybe I can connect somebody or something. Just what's hot for you right now? If you actually called the 15 most influential people that you know in your life right now and you asked them those questions, your life would explode in leaps and bounds. We couldn't even guess. We couldn't even guess where you could go. But common sense, not all is common practice.
We know we have influential people around.
Us, but we're so busy. And I often say, what are you so busy doing if you don't have the time for the influential people in your life? You need more time to prioritize. Because sometimes, as you hear me say in High Performance Academy, sometimes our busy work isn't our life's work. And if we're ever going to achieve our life's work. We need to see who's in front of us. We need to bring them value. We need to learn and it's only through that process can we ever get ahead.
