Foreign. This is Brendon Richard. Welcome to the Brendon show and get yourself ready for Weekly Fire. If you're new to the show, these Weekly Fire sessions are the audios from my Instagram and Facebook Live sessions throughout the week. I know not everyone sees all of them, but I like to go live pretty consistently and talk about funny human behavior and all the goofy things we do as humans to mess up our lives or at least keep it interesting and what you can do about it to improve. I like to talk about what my wife Denise and I are doing or learning as we build our new brand together called HPX Life. HPX stands for the High Performance Experience, which I hope you're experiencing as you fill out your High performance planner every single day. Hope you're using that. That's why you'll often hear us reference these shows as hpx. And you know, boy, are we learning a lot about high performance as Denise and I are trying to be our best every day. For you guys, it's not always easy and you'll hear us sharing a lot about our journey along the way. We also do some Q and A or address the hecklers and the haters. It's super fun and obvious. These are the audios. So if you ever want to catch all the fun, make sure you're following me on Instagram, Brendon Burchard, or on Facebook, enonburshard fan. That's where I go live or Denise and I go live. Now, the best of these Weekly Fire episodes are clearly when Denise has joined me on my live broadcast. As you know, she's like the smart one, you know, the thoughtful one, the person who makes me goofy and makes me want to be a better man. She's the real deal. And, you know, she just inspires me so much. She's not in all these Weekly Fire sessions, but I know you'll enjoy it when she is. So again, we broadcast these live, so it's usually a visual medium. But I decided to share the audios with you because I just wanted you to hear us or hear me talk about what we're up to, what we're learning along the way in real time. So again, keep up with us on Instagram and Facebook, but without further rambling, here's your dose of Weekly Fire. Hi all, it's Brendan and Denise. Welcome to hpx, the High Performance Experience. If it's your first time with us, what's up? We're so happy to see you and to talk today about how you might be able to reach that higher level of experience in life where you've got more vibrancy and connection and excellence. And today Denise has a new name for what we're doing.
This week is Valentine's Day, Valentine Week. So we thought we would talk about love and relationships all week long. And so this week, these are lovecasts.
Lovecasts. I know we usually call this the HPX Live cast. Today is a lovecast. Because there's a lot of excitement coming up for Valentine's. Whether you're with somebody or you're not. We thought today's topic would be really, really good. First, I wanted to share something I learned today with you. It was really good. And that lesson is, you know, I put things in the fridge.
I don't know where this is going.
But so here's what I learned today.
A few things.
So here's what happens. I put things in the fridge all the time that are half eaten. And, and I know before you judge it, here's what happens. Like, usually, like if I'm gonna make an. Okay, I make shakes in the morning. It usually has something like protein shake. It has, you know, some, some plant based protein. It has like, usually like blueberries, avocado, sometimes chia, sometimes banana, sometimes. What else is there? Avocado, coconut milk. Blueberries, blueberries, spinach. A lot of things that really set me up for success and a good mindset, though not today. And here's what happens when I have that. I feel great. But because often I'll work out in the morning, my intense workout period might be in the morning. That, you know, half the banana might go in there, half the avocado might go in the fridge. You know, just I have half and the other half, you know, goes in the fridge. But here's the thing. Her and I have always had a different perspective on how that should go. Now I just take half the banana, I put it right up in there. I put it on whatever's in there. I just put it on there. The avocado, I put it up in there no matter what's going to happen. And we always like. I grew up in a house where we would have leftover, there'd be four of us. My mom would make food for like eight of us so that when she went to work, there'd always be food in there. So mom would like, we'd eat, we'd put stuff in the fridge, we'd eat. You know, we pick at it the next couple days. I don't know if any of you guys were leftover families Let me know. My mom cooked a lot, but we were leftover family. Well, growing up in a leftover family, you learn to just put stuff in the fridge. Like, everything goes in there. And you don't really put things away in, like, bags or, like, super containers. Yes, you do. You don't pump air out of anything. You just put it in there if you're a leftover family. But here's why. Here's why I'm going to share this with you. Because the whole time, I could never understand why you did that. Because it does not keep. Just so you know, it doesn't keep any longer. Putting it in a Ziploc bag, there's no science to that. Because the degradation of the quality of the food is related to air exposure. There is air in the Ziploc bag equally as there is air in the fridge. And the temperature is the same. So same air, same fridge. It's not going to keep any longer. But I learned something from you today. She taught me. I never understood it until today why I must put these things in the Ziploc bag for my wife, to make her happy.
It smells up the whole thing.
It smells up the fridge.
I open it, I'm like, oh, you had banana today.
It's a smell thing here. The whole time I'm thinking, what a lame thing to ask. It doesn't keep it any longer.
It does.
It's a smell thing. I had no idea. It's a smell thing. So, gentlemen, if you did not know this, and I'm sure a lot of men are much more involved in the kitchen than I am, it ends up being. It's a smell, smell thing. Okay? Not that I think of it as smells after four hours left in the fridge, but I'm sure other things go in there that sometimes I forget. So it does make a smell. So I've learned this today from my wife. I thought I'd share that lesson because now I know it. I will totally do that for you. Because I hate when things smell bad. Now, they never smell bad to me, but I'm a guy. I probably don't smell it. But since she says it smells bad, I will now not just cover the food. Little blue angel on Facebook. I won't just cover the food. I will put it in the bag and do it as she does it. Because she explained it smelled. That's all. That's all she had to do. You can't argue that it kept any longer. But once we get under the kept.
Longer thing, this is good, because I can go Back and replay this to him.
Yes. So, oh, my God. I made a promise on the Instagram.
And the Facebook walked right into that one. I didn't mean to cue that up.
So it's a lovecast. We're going to teach people about love today. What's happening? We have a big announcement on Thursday. Coming on Valentine's Day. Make sure you're joining us for Facebook and Instagram. We're going to share a huge. You have been waiting for a lot of the HPX announcements. We're going to make kind of the whole. We're going to lay the whole thing out on Thursday and us talk about what has made our relationship tick and what makes it stick. Usually the sticking points are me. Like this morning, I was a little bit of a growly bear this morning. My bad. Totally my bad. Navide said cling rapid, Brendan. I know. Okay. Yes, I think you are definitely gonna get sided with in this one. Yes, I think you will. Definitely. Yes, I'm definitely not gonna win this one. See Edwards a cook, but he's a messy cook. Yep. You gotta be a clean cook. He's saying it right here. I think it's really good. What's our message today about love, since it's love cast week?
Well, since it's lovecast week, I thought today that we would start with the very, very first thing, which is self love.
That's good.
And that you got to start with yourself, otherwise you can't shine on other people as well as you could.
I like it.
Yeah. So we were going to talk about some of those things that can be pitfalls or things that hold. I love you too.
Sorry to interrupt. I do love her very much. Okay. Self love. I want to talk about you. I know I'm interrupted because I was like, oh, we gotta talk about self love. I just want to talk about you today. Okay. She's been very patient with me, ladies and gentlemen, for approximately 16 years. Okay, self love. What's point number one?
Point number one. I think sometimes people think they have to be perfect in order to love themselves or to really, truly kind of accept and love themselves. So imperfect is just not, as we all know, it's just not an attainable goal. And in fact, it's boring.
So that's true. I like that.
It's not a goal that is aspirational anyway. So I think turning. Turning the idea of perfection to love yourself, instead of having that be your goal, be patient and. And view it as progress. So you're always working towards something.
I love that I love that. I think perfection is fear's excuse for why you can't enjoy life. It's a smart person's smart excuse. Well, you don't understand. I'm perfectionist. Or trying to achieve something that's impossible is a way of punishing ourselves. Wow, that's heavy, huh? Also, I think that what ends up happening is that if you are always seeking perfection, you're never gonna be fully present and get to actually enjoy life because perfection puts you in a unrealistic position in the future. And that will make you forget everything that's good that's happening right now. But I love what Denise said. Perfection is boring. Totally true. Number two, judgment. Tell me about it.
If you judge yourself a lot, and I guess it kind of goes a little bit with perfection, but if you judge yourself a bunch, sometimes you get in your own way because you get stuck in a rut of kind of going around in that cycle of like, oh, I didn't do this right, or you know, judging yourself or judging other people. So if you can let that go and get out of your way, then and instead approach it with compassion and forgiveness, which is different. So judgment. I would say try not to have judgment, but that's different than holding yourself accountable and having high expectations of yourself. So two different things. Do hold yourself accountable, do set high expectations, but try to avoid those judgments that don't really move you forward.
I love that. And for those who are watching, if you are above the age of 18 years old and you are still seeking perfection or you still are hard on yourself, like you judge yourself all the time, do me a favor, go get yourself a life coach or go get yourself a therapist. Because it's not okay if you have self loathing inside, you hate yourself and you are an adult. You need to go get help. Because if you haven't figured out by the time of 18 years old that perfection is not possible and that you should like practice self care and self love, then I mean, what are you going to wait for life to educate you for 20, 30, 40, 50 more years? Sometimes you just need help. Because sometimes the way that you feel about yourself or the things you're chasing were implanted upon you by your family or by the culture you grew up in, or by limiting beliefs that you adopted very early on that just aren't the truth of who you are. And sometimes you need some help with that. That's why I'm a coach, that's why I reference therapists all the time. I think it's really good to get help. Because a lot of times you need to talk out the pains that have led you to so much perfection or self loathing. Snappity snap. What's number three?
Number three is burnout. Like, if you don't give yourself enough time to recoup and rest and rejuvenate yourself, find that time, you just keep going.
Ready?
That.
Oh, look at that.
Oh, that's a new thing.
Which one is this? Is this Instagram or Facebook?
That's Facebook.
Oh, wow. I like Facebook. Thank you, Facebook.
Yeah. Just give your time to recover and rejuvenate and know how you work and how you tick so that you can make that space to give it your all.
I love that. I think the next one is on burnout.
That's what we just did.
Oh, yeah. Oh. It's the same way. I feel like burnout is an indication that you need to take a good step back and reevaluate priorities. I know this because we are cranking right now. And I'll tell you guys what I felt like today before we did this live cast. I want you to know I laid down. I literally I passed out. We have been working so freaking hard to get ready for Thursday's announcement. It's just been, like, constant. And I know that if I don't take those breaks where it's like, okay, I'm going for a walk, I'm going to work out, or she goes for a walk or just go get the mail or lay down and have a meditation, if I don't do those things, I'll burn out and I'll be a grumpy bear, which is not good. And that stuff, it's just, like. Because the stress. We were just talking about how, like, the amount of stress and intensity on me with audiences as large as we built over the years and businesses as we've built, it's super hard to explain to people, like, I just don't feel understood in many aspects of my life with the intensity that I have. But if I just keep going intensity intensely all the time, that's not going to help. So if either I got to figure it out or got to help other people figure out so I can get assistance. But burnout is often not the reality of the things that you're dealing with. Burnout is your inability to deal with the things that you have to deal with. It's not taking the time, not doing the meditation, not working out, not caring for yourself, not enlisting other people to support you. And trust me, I struggle with this one all the time. Super hard. Yeah.
And I think that goes back to yesterday. We were talking about.
Do you think it's because I hate myself?
We were talking at you writing on me. We were talking about. He's got a pen. We were talking about overwhelm, taking a lot of energy and resources. And so if you can manage it so that you have that rejuvenation, like you talk about, you know, having multiple breaks throughout the day where you can kind of step back and take a few deep breaths and do your release meditation, then you don't have to spend the energy on being overwhelmed.
You know, I think we need new chairs because I don't know if you guys can see it. These chairs go like this. So my butt is like three inches this way. I'm cranked in trying to get in. So half of these. Her face. See, your face is half. My face is half.
Yesterday when I got up, the whole half of my body was asleep.
And I. I know we're doing a hell of a job showing the table isn't our table. Nice. See, there's. There's this. We're trying to show that there's, like, a beach and ocean and palm trees because we want you guys to experience that. But I think we're showing the table more than we're showing ourselves. I think we just got to figure this out. Maybe we move backwards. What if we sit further back?
And we're always trying to figure out, like, what are you doing?
You're so far away. She's so far.
We do scoot next to each other. When we go eat at rest restaurants. I usually move my chair to the side. Yeah, I like him.
We are very close diners. Like, we sit very close to each other at dinner. Half. Mostly because I eat half of her food, but I think so. I gotta be right there. I'll get it. Guys, guys, what I'm talking about, you gotta be able to eat that. The rest of that food, they leave. You know, my dad was. My mom called my dad the garbage disposal. Because whatever was uneaten from six kids, dad would just, like, knock that back. He would get it done. He ate everything. I mean, he was just a happy man at the end of his life. And he had a big old Buddha belly. And that Buddha belly, he worked out all the time. But that booty. That Buddha belly, buddy, that Buddha belly came from mom was still cooking for us four children.
Well, you had to eat it all. Otherwise it would go in the fridge uncovered.
Yes, exactly. But it would last forever. And then. But what Happened was my. My dad, he like, my. When we all went to college, my. Well, not always went to college, but when we went off to school, what would happen would be mom would still be cooking for four kids because that's what she learned. Like, if for 20, 30 years you cook for four people and then they're gone, you really only know how to do recipes that are for four to six people. And that was her issue. So she made all this food. So dad would just be like. He felt bad to be like, hey, the kids are gone. So he just not say anything. Eat all the food. I hope I'm that good of a husband, too. I eat everything.
Number four, final one.
What's our last one?
Our last one is fear and doubt.
Oh, yes, tell me about that first, about doubt.
Fear and doubt. I think if you're afraid of things or you doubt yourself, then you hold yourself back from contributing to other people. And one of the ways that. One of the most. I think one of the most joyful things is to be able to contribute to somebody else's growth or somebody else's experience and interact with people. And then you get this huge swell back from that, from helping somebody. It's like a immediate kind. They don't even have to do anything. It just you. It just isn't. I don't know what the words for it. It just feels really good to help other people or to contribute and to grow in yourself. And if you are constantly fearful to take steps towards that and express yourself, then you never get it back.
That's true.
And I love this. I think you have to just know that there's greatness in you, and so take a chance and wipe the fear away or wipe the doubt away and try. Try something new. You'll never know unless you try. I really love that Marianne Williamson quote, and I had it as part of my signature for the last.
Yeah, you have.
I love years because I thought it just embodied so many great things. But I just. It ends with, you know, and as you let your own light shine, you unconsciously give others the permission to do the same. And, I mean, what better example of that than to, you know, give yourself permission to be who you are, express who you are, love who you are, and somewhere, somehow, you are giving somebody else permission to do that.
I love that. I think that's a big. A good transition. By the way of the conversation about our wellness masterclass, y', all, which is up for sale right now. If you go to Brendan.com forward/wellness, that's Brendan.com forward/wellness. Because in 48 hours it's gone. Or the price doubles. I think the price doubles. I should know this by now. The price doubles in 48 hours. So go to brendan.comwellness because listen, your psychological wellness is completely driven by how you deal with these things we talk about, especially doubt. A lot of people don't realize wellness has a lot to do with doubt. Because listen, the more doubt you have inside, the more you have despair inside. And listen, doubt. The indicators of doubt are often despair, but also distance from your dreams and detachment from the current moment and distance from other people. So think about that doubt. It kind of shows itself up and how like, the further you are from your dreams, the more likely you have more doubt. And the same thing goes for people. It's like if you feel like you're always struggling to connect with people, often it's because you doubt yourself. You doubt your ability to share your authentic self, to connect, to share your true thoughts, feelings, expressions. So the indications of doubt are despair and distance. And once you understand that, you're like, wow, I need to get my mind right.
It's like wearing a set of glasses that every, everything anyone else does, it filters through that doubt and it puts a different label or a different interpretation on it because it's in your own mind.
Yeah. And learning to deal with that is called emotional wellness. And a lot of people have never actually had any training on emergency emotional wellness. We train kids on how to memorize history, things from the Civil War, but we don't teach kids how to deal with the emotions of life so they can be well, psychologically well, physically well, spiritually well in the abundant areas of their lives. And I think that's what the way we approach wellness is more of a holistic standpoint to say real wellness is that place in your life where, you know, in a moment's click you can get yourself mentally where you need to be to serve, to be creative, to be loving, to be happy. And most people think wellness is just about, you know, sleep, eat, diet, nutrition and meditation. And by the way, I talk about those things in Wellness masterclass, but that's one module out of 10 modules because those things are just foundational and those are basic. But the reason most people don't do those things well is because they're not handling the rest of their life well. Thus the wellness masterclass. Go to brendan.com forward/wellness Price doubles in 48 hours. And then I think the course comes off at some point. So please make sure to go together. Brendan.com forward/wellness. Please make sure that you save in your calendar that we're going to be here live on the 14th making a big announcement. We've been teasing this since October. November.
You're such a tease.
Yeah, it is. I am a teaser. Since October or November, we have been teasing the HPX announcements. And if you think you know what it is, you definitely do not know what it is. So we're really pumped about it. We are announcing it. We'll announce all the details about what made our relationship like work, how we struggle through challenges and conflicts, how we are building this new brand together, how we've learned to work together. It has been definitely a journey. And then we will also be making the big announcements for Sunday. So let's see. Ben. Oh, we have like three minutes. Okay. Ben asks, how does your faith play a role in your teaching in life? It seems you have been talking more about that faith. Yeah, Ben, I guess I've been talking more about that for 20. What is it, 24 years? So if you're any of my books and all my books, there's. If you read the acknowledgments in all of my books. I thank God for everything that I have in my life, for every moment I have, for every breath that I have. I'm a person who is blessed with facing his own mortality twice in my life. And I've been with a lot of people. They face their own mortality, including my father in his last days. And I can tell that I've learned a lot about honoring and respecting life, but having faith, because I believe that things are. While the world feels in chaos. I believe that there's a reason for most things. I believe that God is guiding us. I believe that God is good. I believe that we all must have faith in ourselves and faith in the people that we love. And the more that we can expand that faith in our life, the more the good things come to us as well. Great question. Thank you for asking that. Hey, Facebook. What's up, guys? Hi, Instagram. Hi, Rick Frischman, my old friend, mentor. You're a good man, Rick. We miss you. Hey, we love you too, brother. So let's see. Do we have any more time? We got hugs from Norway. Make sure you guys give us a shout. Where are you from real quick, because we were looking last night and it was crazy. I don't know. You guys can't always see all the comments to be able to go back to, but we can. It was bananas the other day. How many people were from literally just all over the world. This HVX community is inspiring to us, having so many people around the world.
Okay, next time we're supposed to put this phone sideways.
Well, a lot of people say, I know, but watch, Dominique, it goes like this. Oh, yep. See, you can't turn your phone that way while recording. It doesn't work for live. I know. Lots of people think that would be better. No, what we need to do is not have a chair. Oh, see, now they can see. Yes. You see how this chair comes in so it's footing my butt over here, Making my ribs go like this. See?
Maybe walk out of here like I'm in Jurassic Park.
I know.
It'S gonna be limp.
We are welcome to the Contortionist show with Brendan and niece and the two most uncomfortable chairs possible for a live cast. Good Lord, thank you for your patience with us. We love you guys. It's Love Week. We'll be here tomorrow. We hope you tune in with us. Thank you for all the fun. Thanks for letting us know where you're from. Thanks for sharing this with us and continuing to be all this HPX broadcast. This is hpx, the High Performance Experience. Our whole goal is to help you become more extraordinary life by giving you the tools and the insights and the inspiration and apparently the funny jokes all day long to help you do that. So, ladies and gentlemen, that's it for the day. Go be extraordinary. Are we on the Internet? Oh, hey, guys. Happy Tuesday. Welcome to hpx. I'm Brendan.
I'm Denise.
HPX stands for the High Performance Experience. And our job is to always try to give you some kind of inspiration, insight, goofiness, and hopefully some new tools and ideas to improve your life and live what we call the High Performance experience. That sense when you feel like you're in flow, you're doing your best, you're confident, confident. You're living your life with excellence and making magic happen. Today is about selfless love. Selfless love. Hey, it's Valentine's Day week. Yep.
And if you are joining us this week, these live casts are going to be called Lovecasts. We're going to talk about love. And since yesterday, no, we did not get a love seat. But we are closer to each other.
Has to start with an admission. I have a good thing happened today. I showered today and that was a big deal because we were getting some comments like, is Brendan showering? Is he ever going to like comb his hair again? Because so many times we've been doing these after a long walk on the beach or after I did my workout or whatever.
And everyone's like, I can see all these, like, flyaways.
Yeah. It really helps when the white. The background is completely blown out on us because we're trying to show you that there's like. Like there's a palm tree and there's a beach down there. And my friends on Instagram can see this. On Facebook, they're like, we can't see anything in the background because it's the Twilight Zone. Not that we have any poll with Facebook, but Facebook, if you could at least help your Facebook Live quality look as good as Instagram, maybe people would stop bailing in droves from Facebook and going to Instagram. I don't know. I'm just saying. I'm just saying. But yeah, big news. I showered today, which is really good because I'm telling you, it almost sounds funny. But I have been working, like, these unbelievably endless hours. Some of you guys have seen us launching Wellness Masterclass. We're about to launch on Valentine Day. We're going to announce what did I do Times Dang. Valentine's Day.
You should say herbs.
We're launching a new website, an upcoming podcast. We are doing like 50 things at once. And the new supplement we've been telling you about, all this stuff comes out this next week or so. And so it's just been 24 7, honestly. And I've been basically workout, you know, meditate, eat amazingly well, but then work 24 7. I mean, it has been. I mean, I was up till 2:30 last night. It was unbelievable getting my eight hours in. But the rest of the day just like, go, go, go, go, go, go. So apologize for the last couple days of live cast. People are like, is Brandon ever going to shower again? What? He moves to Puerto Rico. He must be drinking pina coladas and sitting on the beach all day. No, we're building a brand with you guys, like day by day with hpx. So we support you. We're happy about you. Colby, already on Facebook noticed what happened to the chairs. We got rid of those horrible chairs we were in yesterday in the days before. So they're great chairs.
They're just not meant for.
Oh, my God.
Squeezing in next to each other.
They're like these pretty Restoration hardware type things. Yeah, we were like contortionists.
Now we're sitting on ceramic stools.
Now we're sitting on 10 times more uncomfortable terrace. This is great. These are really uncomfortable. I don't know if you can actually see. We're sitting on like a beach towel because these things are worse than yesterday. But we're trying to, we're still trying to figure out how the heck do we shoot this because honestly, it looks so good on Instagram with the palm trees and amazing blue skies every day. And then on Facebook it's like we're sitting in front of a big TV with white. I don't know what's happening. Today's topic, self list. Love. Tell us about that.
Well, yesterday we talked about self love and starting with yourself and today, not to be ironic, but we're talking about selfless love and where you just kind of have those moments where you kind of get out of your head and things flow and they feel really good and, and you just kind of create this state of getting out of your own way basically and spreading cheer and kindness and love to other people. And I don't know if for me, I, I was trying to think of times for me that this happens and I don't know, for me a lot of times I'm like, if I see an animal like puppy or like it's instantly like whatever's going on is gone and like, I'm excited to see you.
She is like that puppy all the time.
A lot of mid conversation kind of stuff. Or I was thinking, you know, like if you've ever had to teach somebody something new and you're just completely involved in what their experience is, where you have that, like it's not about you anymore. It's, I mean not anymore but like it's just like it's not about you all the time and to kind of get out of your own way and where you feel all of a sudden like you're not. That voice in your head about you is gone. And the voice that you're so focused on somebody else or something else or caring for someone or helping somebody is there. So that's what I would call selfless love.
She's really good at that because she's, she's so intent on making our relationship great and our life great and our home great for our cat and the business with HPX great that she really is that epitome of servant leadership in her career and her life. But with us it's like, you know, she's constantly trying to, you know, change her schedule or change how she would love things to go to meet the reality of our life, trying to serve you all, to meet the reality of, of building new brand like hpx, of also dealing with me in the mornings. Like her routine Used to be get up by 4, 5, 6am she's at the exercise studio leading a team of 30 women or taking an exercise class. And now, as we've started building HPX and we're in Puerto Rico, it's a completely different morning schedule for us. And it's been hard because I don't know if you all know my morning schedule, but so set, you know, for whatever it is, 10, 15 years we've been teaching. You know, I do 20 minutes of movement in the morning, then I do 20 minutes of reading, and then I do 20 minutes of like, preparing the day. I am a very slow. I'm a slow burn in the morning. There's no other. I'm like, I'm slow at getting my brain open. I'm slow at feeling energized. I'm slow at, like, thinking things. And she can wake up and be like, there's a list of things. We have a list. Let's talk about the list. And her mind is in 4000 directions instantaneously. By waking up, she gets this download from everything in the universe.
Call it my universal morning download.
And I'm dumb. I'm just dumb till about like 10 or 11 in the morning. I'm just kind of like my creative processing is happening. I look like a nutty professor walking around the house. And sometimes I'm just. I'm like, I'm so lost in my own thing. I'm grumpy or I'm completely oblivious that, you know, she's really taught me how to be like, you know, sunshine in the morning. And she doesn't just do it because that's her natural thing. She also does it for me because she's. She tries. And I think this is a good hallmark of great relationships. You try for your partner to put them in a good mood. Like, I try to make her laugh all the time. I try to, like, apologize all the time. I try to make her feel loved and cared for. I try to. I'm not good at it every day, but it's an intention I have. Thank you, sweetie. I'm an intention. I'm an intentional person to try to make our relationship great, as is she. And that's what makes the relationship great. Even though many times we suck and many times we get in dumb argument, many times we are not doing great. The time that the relationship is going great is when we get out of our own way and ask, what does she need? What. What does he need? How can I be of service to this person? Because, you know, if you ever been in an intimate relationship before where you gave of yourself completely to somebody in those moments that you did that, that you were fully present with them and being generous and giving in to them? All of a sudden you recognized a spark and intimacy, a depth in the relationship that was very different than you were. Like, what am I getting? Did she do what I want?
You know, not gonna leave to a lot of success.
Yeah. Because your neediness is not making your intimacy go deeper. It's when you are selfless, when you can ask what is required of the relationship right now and of us together right now? Which is super hard, by the way. It's super hard. We don't sit here and pretend to make that easy because we equally struggle with these things. But many of you have asked us here on Instagram, on Facebook, like, how do you guys. How are you working together? How are you making happen?
You're already our sunshine.
Oh, Ivy, you're so nice. Thank you so much. There's a reason I don't shoot videos very early in the morning. Because it's usually till, like, right now. I don't know where you're at. Please let us know where you're at, because we actually really do dork out in seeing where you guys tune in from, because we look at the comments every day. But it's 1:22pm right here. We're on. What are we on? We're on Atlantic time. So you have Pacific Time, which is like, California. Then you have, like, mountain time, which is like Montana. Then you have, like, Central time, which is like Texas or something. And then you have, like, Eastern time, which is like, you know, the East Coast. But then you have one hour in advance of that, which is called Puerto Rico time, you know, and that's where we're at. So it's 1:22 in the afternoon. I just got done with the shower. We got up. We like. We're intentional about our morning. She read this morning out on the balcony overlooking the ocean. I did a little bit of reading. I did a little just, like, writing my quotes and thinking about the day. And then we took a long walk and discussed the day and discussed what we had to do and when we were going to do our things. And then we just jumped into it. And I think that that just. I'm telling you, slower mornings make greater days. I don't know how you all feel, but a slower morning makes a greater day. I know it's very popular right now. Everyone's like, you know, crush the morning. Get up and knock out all of your emails by 5am and I'm like, sounds really inspiring to live every day. Starting your day in reaction by replying to everybody else's needs in your inbox, you have a greater level of creative genius, and you need to give it time to tap into that morning. Because if you're not tapping in the depths of yourself and not thinking about your relationship in the morning, then why are you experiencing life just to react to other people? And that's why we were talking about, like, the importance of just having more intentional mornings. That helps me be more selfless with her. When she has a morning where she's super needy and needs a hundred things. For me, I'm poking the bear. I'm a growly bear. I'm like, what? God? Can we just be in love for a minute and laugh?
I have to taper it down.
Tell me you. How about tell me you love me and give me a hug and a kiss and, like, what's happening with you before I get the list of things that we have to do. That's me. That's me. I'm actually a fairly needy person in a relationship, kind of like the cat is our cat needs a lot of, like, attention. I'm a little bit like that in our relationship, though. We are incredibly independent people when we are together. Because, like, I'll travel for weeks on end or we won't see each other or she'll be. I do. When we are together. I need the. You know, I thrive when she's like, you know, giving the love language of praise, attention, and kisses. And she thrives when I'm honoring her, respecting her, appreciating her, giving her time. And you got to know what that is about your partner knowing what they need and how they thrive. That's part of being selfless. By not asking, are you just getting it, but showing up for other people.
Yeah.
Yeah. What else you got on the sheet here? Did I just go off?
You always kind of go around. Yeah, I know, but I love you because you always think all over the board.
I do.
I like it. I think one of the challenges that we had.
Can I just interrupt? That was in. Very nice thing that she did right there. Instead of saying, dude, why can't you just hit these points or do this? She was like, no, I really, you know, she. She praises what a complete wacko I am.
It's not. You're not a wacko.
That's why we're.
I honor that we have very different ways of thinking because it expands both of Us.
Yes, it's true. Go.
We had a challenge for you guys today was to notice, as you're going throughout your day, notice times where you feel like you are in that kind of giving state of flow and compassion and where you just forgot about you and notice what they are for you, kind of bookmark them. And then other times, maybe in the day, where you realize and just notice when you might be holding back, where you could give that. And I think times where we hold back and we're not maybe in flow or we're not giving kind of selfless love is when we. Or I guess I should reverse it when we do. I feel like those are times where what we have to offer or to give is greater or more important than what we fear we might lose in the moment. And, you know, like, if I always would find, like, if I was teaching class and there were new students, I was like, I want them to have a great experience. What do they need? What do. And teaching. I think just teaching as a whole is not about the teacher. Teaching is about the student. And if you can go through life where everyone is a student in some way or just the recipient of something in some way, then I'll have a better day.
Yeah, I think it is. It's so much. I mean, think about the opposite of that. How often we get stuck in egoness. How often we, you know, get, get. Get stuck in ego or. Whoa. Hi, Facebook. Is that Instagram?
Uh.
Oh, there's the light.
There we go. Don't touch the phone too hard.
Let me show you how to do that. Oh, sorry, honey. There you go. Sorry, y'.
All.
We had a camera malfunction right in the middle of what we're doing. So I think one of the most important things is to check out how often your ego causes you pain in your relationship when you're needy or you decide that you're right or you're so focused on what you need and what they did wrong that you are unable anymore to see the beauty in the other person. I think you know you're being selfless in your loving relationship when you can recognize the potential and the beauty and the heart in the other person. And because you can recognize those things, you want to feed into that. You want to serve that, you want to honor that, you want to respect that, you want to appreciate that you want to speak to that. Like, if you were. If you followed us around. I'm insanely praising of this woman.
Yes, you are.
Not just on social media, but, like, every day. Like, every day. Every day. I can't tell you how much I am praising her because. Because I recognize that in her. And I never forget that. It's so easy to be in a relationship where you have an amazing person, but you don't recognize anymore. You don't even see it. You take them for granted. How many of you have caused so much pain in your relationships in your past because you took the other person for granted and then they got sick or then they passed away, or then they broke up and then you were like, oh, my God, I had this great thing and I didn't honor it. You have to honor the great things, but you'll never honor the great things things unless you recognize the greatness in those things, including the people that you admire, love, and appreciate. And so I'm always reminding myself, I'm like, oh, okay, maybe sometimes she does something. I get mad about it and I get mad. I gotta be able to step away. And she knows this. I'll step away and maybe I'll be in another room and I'll like, I'll be like, brendan, you have like the most amazing, beautiful, gorgeous, honoring, supportive wife. Get your ass out there, apologize, give her a hug and say, honey, I know we didn't see eye down that. But I didn't mean to be an idiot. Because part of praising and respecting other people is knowing that you can apologize and that you don't have to be right and they don't have to be wrong. That we both. I don't see her as wrong. We have complete different ways of seeing things. Like, we just do. That doesn't make her wrong or me right. And so we just have to learn to explain our perspective. So, like, I think a lot of times in our challenges in our relationship is when I try to explain. Explain the perspective so that she agrees. Fellas, good luck with that one.
Says the captain of the debate team.
It's hard being married to a debater. I think so. I think it's true.
You're the debater.
I am the debater.
I'm not, but.
Yes. No, but you know what? You know, here's the deal. Debaters know they can't win, ever with someone who holds a greater level of emotional intelligence than them. I logically, I logically can win the debate, but she can sit there and look at me like. And it's lost. One look. Debate over, I'm toast.
I don't know about that.
What else we have to say?
Well, I think you were talking about, you know, just gratitude and kind of taking that in. And feeling it and. And being grateful for the other person. And. Do you remember the first movie that we saw in the movie theaters when we first met?
I think we saw Love actually was our first ever. Was it on Valentine Day?
I think it came out right around there.
No, Christmas. It was during Christmas.
That's right.
We stopped doing Christmas. Y' all love. Y' all watch Love. Actually, if you have not seen that movie. Oh, my gosh, what a tearjerker.
I know. Give us a little emoji heart.
If you have seen. Yeah. If you love that movie. I think. I think that's in our. That's in our top three Christmas movies. It's incredible. Okay. What? Sorry.
I just love that there's. You know, they talk about love is actually all around us and just all those little moments. And I think the opening scene is in Heathrow Airport and all these people.
Don't take your relationships for granted in your life, you know, notice the little moments, you know, when you. When you guys. When someone. If you. You know, if, like, Denise, like, made me dinner last night, and it was, like, fantastic. And so I. I went off on it because, you know, I was. We were both working separately in the house, and then it was, like, just busy, busy, busy. And I was coding some stuff that we're launching for you guys this Sunday. And I walked out and this meal is ready. I'm like, oh, my God. And it was fantastic. It was just little things. It doesn't have to be big things. She helps with little things. I help her with little things. Your love is cemented in the little things. Your love is cemented in the little things. And so you have to learn to give into those little things. Selfless little acts. The little things. You know, I remember I was coaching this couple one time, and she was just going off about the fact that he left things all around the house, which I laughed to because that happens with me, too. But she doesn't hold that over me. She goes, wow, he must be really busy. So she doesn't mind sometimes picking up, and sometimes I don't mind picking up. It's just like, we have these little things we have to do for each other because we know that they all like them. Like, there's a million things we do in the kitchen for each other that we would not do normally. The way that she. Like, where the blender is or where I put my stuff to get it out of her way or. Or, like, out of the things we have to try to do. Not leaving tea bags in the sink. If you leave tea bags in the sink, you're gonna get divorced. I mean, she hates that.
I don't know why he always tries to logic. He's like, well, it's drying out. And I was like, in the place where running water goes, I don't know. I was like, it'll dry out in the trash too.
Oh, so good. Hey.
But we try to find compromises for each other. Like, I see you want this and this. So we always are trying to find those compromises that adjust a couple fun.
Things we're doing for building the HPX brand because we want to make sure you guys know about that. Ivy's like, no tea bags in the sink. I know. Colby's like, that's probably why I'm single. So funny. Hey, what's up? Amazon, Instagram, we see you. Hi, Carpio. Thank you for being here. Hey, Tammy, we see you over on Facebook as well. We'd love you guys join us for these conversations. And it just means a ton to us. Some simple things we're doing at hpx, which are really exciting. We're about to launch HPX officially. Some of you guys saw us do our first campaign with High Performance Experience in January. You were there with us when we did Transformation Week when we moved down here in real time with you on social media, which was brutal and super fun. But we're actually going to launch the brand here pretty quick, which will be, you know, a new podcast, new supplement, a lot of other things that we'll be announcing and give you guys links to. We'll tell you the whole story on Valentine's. We are also on Valentine's going to talk about what makes our relationship tick and we'll be releasing a YouTube and podcast about that. So if you're not already subscribed to the Brendon show podcast on itunes, make sure you go over and subscribe on Apple Podcast or Google podcasts or Spotify, wherever you listen to your podcasts. And then also my YouTube channel, Brandon Burchard brendon.com we are launching our first video together since Transformation week on my YouTube channel this week as well. So make sure you get subscribed over there. And with that, some big things coming with hvx, I really want people to feel like you getting into the High Performance experience, that place where you feel vibrant, where you feel connected with other people, where you know you're striving each day with your full potential with excellence in mind. That's what we call hpx, the High Performance Experience. I want that to be a priority for this community this year, you know, to know that you are truly living your best life, but not like, conceptually, not as a New Year's gimmick, but really like, trying each day to manage your thoughts and your mind and contributing to your relationships and bringing your best creative genius to your work and mission every day. I want that to be real for you this year. And that's why we started HPX together. And we just support and appreciate you all being here with us along the journey because, you know, we're gonna be talking about the journeys. We are hiring more people as we are, you know, setting up cameras and lights and figuring out technology and figuring out, you know, asking your feedback on the brands and the podcasts and the blogs, and we launch everything. We don't have this figured out. It's our first time doing it together. And I thought it'd be cool to remind you all that because you're along with us for the journey. We'll ask you for feedback. But also, just like in honoring Denise for jumping in into my crazy world.
Being incredible questions, questions.
Oh, my gosh, I forgot to ask her questions.
Somebody asked on Instagram, are we married?
I saw that one, too.
Oh, yes, we are.
Yes, we're married.
Somebody asking, you know, what if they're. One person is being selfless in their love, but then the other person isn't?
That's a good question.
And I would say just keep being selfless in your love, because sometimes it takes of a lot little time for people to catch up to the energy. But you do want to role model what energy and what example you want to get back. So keep putting it out. And also look for the positives. Maybe that person has a little bit different way of being selfless in their love. So if you can find that and.
Recognize that they might be your partner, while they're not selfless now, there was probably a reason they became your partner. And they might frankly be in pain right now. And so what I encourage you to do, if those who love podcasts like we do, go listen to Oprah's Super Soul Sunday. Shout out to Oprah and that whole team for putting that series together. There's a series they're running right now with Eckhart Tolle, where they're talking about a new Earth. And maybe the first two might sound really weird to you if you're not into spirituality work, but by the time you get the third, fourth, and fifth one, you're like, boom, Eckhart's a master oprah's. Really got her. I mean, I've been blessed to be, you know, doing. I've done a lot with Oprah in the past, and her ability to be present, to take joy in the moment, but also deal with a lot of vitriol and negativity and ugliness in the world is really inspiring. Make sure you listen to that one. It's the Super Soul podcast. Right now we're listening to it. Right? I was listening to it this morning as I was getting ready. Is really inspiring because one thing that Eckhart's teaching is that sometimes your partner is what he calls they're in their pain body, they're in their ego. They're storing up their hurts. And the emotions that keep coming up from them are from old attachments or from the way their ego is perceiving things. And you need to learn how to see that and deal with that and maintain your own energy. I always tell people, you be responsible for the energy you bring into the world. Don't let anybody else curtail you. When I'm grumpy, the days that we succeed in a relationship is if I'm grumpy. She doesn't fall in line with that. She still says sunshine. She does her thing and not let me influence her. And when I. When we're not in a good place in a relationship, it's when she's in a bad mood and I take that onto me and we further project it. Like when you take negative energy and you allow it to combine and project it bigger, you're not serving each other. Yeah, that's your ego fueling that. So if you struggle with that or if you've got, like, somebody in a relationship who's really not there with you, please listen to Eckhart's. The name of the podcast is Oprah's Super Soul Sunday. Oprah's Super Soul Sunday. And she's running the series right now with Eckhart Tolle. If you've not read the Power of Now from Eckhart, it's one of the most important books you can read. And the other one I would recommend for our friends who are or are, you know, you know, have a Christian faith or have a more of a religious bent towards things or have a deep belief in God. Also make sure you read the Power of Positing Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale, because I really think if you have negative people in your life, you need those tools. Read the Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. Read the Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale. Because you realize how much power you really do have over your mind and your emotions and the energy you project into other people. It's incredibly powerful. I hope that helps. Make sure, you guys, when you're posting questions, type in the question mark a couple times, then your question. It's the only way we can see you here. Now, usually it's the easiest way for us to spot as these things are going by, but also afterwards, we go back and we look back through these comments and we scroll through looking for the questions so we can take them on the next one. Because we're trying to make this something that's really powerful for all of you guys. So I think with that, that's our end for the day. Love you guys. Last thoughts.
Just go out and be extraordinary every.
Day you have a choice to go be average or go live. The high forms experience. So go be extraordina. Party people.
Hello.
Hey, what's up? Facebook, Instagram. It's Brendan and Denise and this is hpx, the High performance experience, where we talk about living your absolute best life so you can be vibrant, connected and excellent in all you do. Today we are talking about, on uncomfortable ceramic chairs, about spreading kindness. You can spread some kindness. This is lovecast week. I mean, Valentine's Day is tomorrow. So we thought about all the great ways you can exhibit, express and feel greater love and joy in your lives. Listen, part of the high performance experience is being more engaged, more joyful in your everyday life, which is hard because there's stress, there's challenges, upset. I've had a lot of that lately as her and I are trying to figure out how to do this new launch and brand together.
There's random stuff thrown into your stuff.
Schedule, random people, random obligations. How many of you are dealing with randomness? If you are always dealing with randomness, let us know because that's just real sometimes. So you got to do the things to take care of yourself. Like right before we do this, this broadcast today, I excused myself from my lady and I said, I'm gonna go get a shower. I am going to. Yeah, I listen to the Little Joel Olsteen podcast. I did a shower, but then while I was doing the shower, I was listening to my man Bob Marley singing loud in the shower, singing proud to put myself in a good state of mind. Because to me, the things that bring me tremendous joy outside of my wife and my mission is for me, learning and expression and music gives me that expression. Though don't ever ask me to sing is really quite Terrible. Horrible. We're talking about kindness today. What do we have to learn about kindness today, Mrs. Burchard?
That you can just spread it wherever you go and to. In all these small interactions, they don't have to be big. And I think wherever you come into contact with people, people just want to be seen and heard and not a number. So it can be as simple as making eye contact with people and saying thank you. Like looking for all those opportunities to say thank you to people throughout your day, I think spreads a little kindness. Plus, you don't really know what's going on in other people's lives who you don't know. So always spreading kindness can help uplift their day. If you think about the things that people maybe do and have done for you during the day or. Or just like, I mean, simple little acts of kindness, what that does for your day and makes you maybe stop and be appreciative and grateful and to pass it forward.
I love that. Do little things, and it's little things. I think she nailed that. Because here's what I've learned about being able to be a positive, happy person over the long term, especially when you're under tremendous stress, when you're under tremendous obligation and challenge, and you're really trying to contribute to the. The world. I have learned one, as she said, appreciation to other people. But I think a unique form of kindness that I've learned is to cheer other people on more actively. And what I mean by that, often we wait until someone does something amazing to say, you're doing a great job, or until they've achieved something to cheer them on. I think for me, kindness is cheering people on proactively, even when they're in the mess of it, even when they're in, like, the little steps of it. I really feel like part of servant leadership is that ability to just cheer people on. Like, literally clap them off. I send texts to friends all the time. Hey, if you need a thing, let me know. I'm cheering you on. You're doing great work in the world. Thank you for doubling down on your goodness in times of darkness. We really appreciate you. I'm cheering on. Team, family, friends. Like, I'm just like, I am Mr. Text everybody and cheer them on. Because as we've all learned, the road is more difficult for other people than you ever know, my friends. You just have to know it. It's, like, really hard. Like, for us. I'll be honest, this has been a really hard week. Super, super hard. Fatigued, exhausting. Just really hard. Because we're launching. If you guys have. You're just tuning in for the first time. We're launching a new brand together called hpx, which stands for the High Performance Experience. We'll make the announcement tomorrow. Is that tomorrow? Yeah, tomorrow right here, we're gonna tell you about the whole thing that we've been working on. But it's a new brand, it's a new lifestyle brand. It's got all these new moving components of a podcast, a supplement, tools, blog, resources, research team. It's been super easy, you know, easy. Oh, and do that while maintaining four other businesses with over, you know, whatever it is, nearing a thousand employees between all the companies we invest in or that we lead way super hard. Really difficult. And it's just been a hard, stress week. And you wouldn't know that because it's like, oh, well, you know, Brendan's a motivational guy. And look how Denise, she's so happy and positive and like, grounded and centered. But we have our challenges, too. I mean, man, this is like today on the way up here, I said, honey, I discovered a secret. If I have a shower and I eat proper amounts of food, for how much I work out and run this mouth. Because as you can imagine, it takes a lot of calories to run this mouth well. If I hydrate well and eat well and exercise well and I play some music and I sing and I dance and I get myself together, then you know what? Life is pretty cool.
I'm going to listen to a wellness course.
I might do that. Omg. Tonight is your deadline, my friends, to sign up for the Wellness Masterclass. The link is in my bio on Instagram. I have no idea what this means to anyone on Facebook, but there's a link in my bio on Instagram. Instagram. It's the last opportunity to save 50% off the wellness Masterclass. And then I won't talk about it. And I just keep bugging you guys. But for those of you who feel like you're not dealing with stress well, or you don't have the joy you want, or you feel like you're overweight or out of health, both mentally, emotionally or physically, because wellness is about strategies. Wellness isn't a thing you just have. It's an active, preventative, daily, habitual thing you do to feel great in life. And most people are going through the motions, so they don't feel great or they're not setting themselves up to win. So if you need advice on that or you need or you know somebody who does, go buy them or gift them the course called Wellness Masterclass. Click the link in my bio on Instagram and you can get it for 99 bucks. And if you don't think $99 is your health is worth 99 bucks or your family's health is worth 99 bucks or your mental ninjuri. Like, I wouldn't say ninja Y It's like, I feel like everyone should be at this stage of your life. You should be a mental ninja. You're old enough. You should know how to deal with challenges. You should know how to deal with the depressions and the sadnesses and the anxieties and the difficulties. It doesn't mean you always get it right. Like today I was overwhelmed at one point, but I correct bam. It's like within an hour sometimes people get upset and they're upset for five days. She'll tell you, I'm up, upset, strong. Just vibrantly, passionately, crazy, intense for like an hour. And then I come back and I'm like, you know, I'm sorry if I was intense or crazy or stupid. I love you too. That's what you have to do. Tell us more about kindness.
Yeah, I mean, I think all those little acts and then also doing kind things for people who are in your inner circle circle. Maybe they're new friends or old friends or people you haven't seen in a long time. But I know for me, like, it feels really good when I get a text from somebody and just a little like, hey, I'm thinking of you. Hope this is happening for you. And they share something about themselves. I think just warms my heart because I'm like, oh, they thought of me.
Yeah.
So if you can spread that on in that way. And then Brendan is really good about whenever he leaves or he'll leave me little love notes. Sometimes they're like on post, its spread across the mirror or they're like on a napkin with a Sharpie before he goes on the kitchen counter. And I find them in different places, but I always keep them because they mean a lot to me.
And she writes me the most beautiful cards too. Like birthdays, anniversary anniversaries.
I'm a big card writer.
She's a great card writer.
They mean a lot to me.
Yes. And I have one of her cards when I turned 40 years old. Yes. I'm 40 plus years old, peoples.
I gave it to you here.
I know. She gave me this really beautiful card. It was just like amazing. And so actually, I don't know if I've unpacked it Here in Puerto Rico, but at home in Portland, where we had. I had a big monitor there, and we're still trying to set up our office here. But I have this great card from her, my 40th birthday that I put. It's literally on my monitor. You've seen it. It's like, right on my monitor. And every day that I go to do work at home in Portland, where we used to live, I read it because she's saying nice things to me, like, I'm a good man and I try to serve people and I give my heart and she loves me. And, you know, we all need it. The people in your life need it more than you understand. What we tend to do is, like, we're occasional with our kindness. We're occasional with giving our thoughts, our comments, and our love. And because we do that, people are having worse emotions and worse days on a greater frequency than we understand. So maybe what you do, after we finish our live cast, or lovecast, whatever the heck we're calling HBX today, maybe you do a simple thing. Go. After we're done today, go text five people and cheer them on. Say, hey, I know you're working. I know you're hustling. I know you're trying to provide for a family. I know you're trying to be a good person. I know you're this wonderful thing and you probably have things going on in your life I don't even know. So I just want to let you know, out here in the darkest, out in the world, I am cheering you on. I'm a point of light who recognizes, sees you, loves you, and is cheering you on. That kindness is not something that happens once in a while if you're a really kind person. It's these daily little moments that she's talking about. You have to create for people, especially for those of you coming up on Valentine's Day, for your spouse, your partner, they need it way more. Way more. Like, I. I told you I was joking yesterday. And people like, oh, my God, did Brandon really mean that? That I was like, I'm needy. Like, I am needy. I'm like, she's got this. This cat that is unbelievably needy for, like, petting and attention and stuff. And I'm kind of funny because I'm so independent and independent all my life. But I also, for the amount of output and hard work that I put in, you guys are so good about filling me up and making me feel rewarded, but there's a lot of my life that people Don't Understand is solo, like, an unbelievable amount. I mean, obviously. Obviously. I've written six books. I'm on my seventh book right now. I don't write those books in social situations. I'm home, I'm alone. Or when I'm coming up with my YouTube videos or some of the blog content or the partnerships and things. I'm running from our teams virtually. I'm home alone a lot of the day. I'm alone, I'm alone. I'm alone, people. No, I like you. So this girl does really good about, like, coming up in the middle of the day in random things, saying nice things to me, kissing me. Just like, you know, just. I'm a very physical person, so hugs and touch are part of my love language. And we all got to have that thing. We have to know, you know, I know Leslie's like, you poor guy. Home alone. Yeah. You know, so funny is, especially people with kids or who have toddlers right now, they'll often say, oh, God, I'd pay to be home alone. It's so wonderful. Yeah. But, yeah, you know, I often say. They say, well, you, Brendan, you don't understand. I've got X number of children. I'm like, well, I've been blessed to coach and train some of the world's most extraordinary people who have challenges and stresses at levels most people don't understand. They've got five, six, seven kids, literally, or. And they're. They're handling it, too. No excuses is ever good. It literally is. We can say, well, you don't understand. I'm like this, or like that. I'm like, okay, let me put, you know, a couple hundred million dollars of obligation on your shoulder. Let's get you a team of nearly a thousand people worldwide working and, you know, see how you handle that, whether you're home or on the road or in your hotels dealing with and serving other people. I think what people do, especially in ways that we don't understand, it's unkind to say to somebody, oh, well, you're so lucky. That's called unkind. And we need to learn that as a culture, because what happens, you see in comments, a lot of times it says, you know, it's so easy to tell people, well, you don't understand, or you're so lucky. Everybody runs a rough road. Some of the people that you look to and you admire, who are on magazines, who I coach or who've literally, you know, achieved a billion dollars or so, companies who are so extraordinary, I talk with them and they're having a bad day and it's hard for them because I know everyone goes, yeah, it's hard for you. No, what if someone did that to you? Oh, really, it's hard for you?
It doesn't feel very valid either.
That's not compassionate. And we need to lead with more empathy, more compassion, more understanding of people's difficulties. I never, if I see a person, a fancy car or walk off a jet or who's got millions of dollars, I don't assume their life is any better, different than or less stressful than it was when I was broke, chasing a dream, people making fun of me and no one believed in me. You know, Alessandra saying hi, Denise. Hi. You guys are so nice. Yeah, we appreciate you guys too. Carol over on Facebook said her husband needs the wellness course. You know what? Then go get it. Some of you guys know someone in your life who's struggling with their health and their wellness, their ability to deal with stress or overwhelm. Let me help. You've tried to convince them. Let me do it for you. Go buy the wellness masterclass for them. It's 99 bucks. If your spouse, your partner's life and their wellness and their sanity and joy isn't worth a hundred bucks, I mean, I don't know what is. Go get them something that's gonna help.
Them, you know, there's your helicopter.
Here's my helicopter. Helicopters are my happiness. I love being on it. Let's see holistic fertility wellness on where? This is Instagram. Yep. Are you guys coming to Australia? Yes. In 2020. None this year. I apologize, guys. We have so much to do this year with launch of hpx as you'll hear tomorrow on Sunday, y'. All. On Sunday we'll be launching a new podcast as well, which I'm really excited about. So make sure you're on my email list. If you're not, go to hpxlife.com that's hpxlife.com and join our new newsletter there. There should be a sign up form today. I think it might even go live tomorrow, but you'll see it hpxlife.com so I can send you an email when the new podcast goes up on Sunday. For those who dork out about personal development, I've created the mash up of mashups of personal development. So it's not just me, but some of Denise and I's like favorite podcasters. We got episodes from them. It's gonna be super friggin awesome, Tammy. Thank you. She's cheering us on for Our launch for hbx, which we'll announce tomorrow, we're really thrilled about. What questions do you guys have? Remember, if you have a question for us, just type in a question mark. Question mark. Question mark. Is that close to you? That would feel really. That felt real on video. That feels real close. It does, but it's like a foot away.
It's not a foot away.
Well, look, it's this far away. That's pretty far.
We have a lot of trust.
Okay, that was a trust fall. Let us know what questions you have by typing a bunch of question marks and then your question, and we'll try to get to a few here today.
I also saw somebody on Facebook earlier on which I wanted to talk about too, say, you know, when you're kind to other people, it feels really good to you, too. So when you guys are out there making those acts of kindness to people, there's kind of a ricochet effect back at you and stop and internalize it. That kind of two. You talk about two beats, you know, stop and kind of internalize that feeling and take it in because it just reciprocates. Continuing to do those acts of kindness for other people. And when people do them for you, then stop and acknowledge it as well.
Yeah. If you haven't heard about that, two beats sing. It's literally changed people's lives. I wrote about it in my book, the Motivation Manifesto. It's the idea that if you hold a moment with other people for two beats longer, it feels so different when there's that presence there. So when you kiss your spouse or your partner, you know, today or tonight, if you have that blessing of having somebody in your life, when you kiss them, just hold the kiss for two seconds longer. If you say thank you, look them in the eye and hold it for two seconds long. Don't look too long, because that's awkward. But.
But especially if you don't know.
Yes, especially. Weirdo.
Eye contact, I think, is really important because we're so used to looking at so many different things throughout the day that, you know, we're on your phone, you're like, what's next? Going. Continuing to move around and go to things. And I think even as, like, if you're at a restaurant and you're sitting there and somebody comes and pours you water, like, make eye contact with them and say thank you.
Like, they're.
Nobody's a number. They all have a story. They're all on their own journey. We're kind of interacting in this world all the time. And if you can kind of spread those little drops of kindness and everyone else is doing it, you get this, like, ripple. And when you have lots of drops of kindness in water, you get a vibration and it just continues to escalate. And I think as a whole, we can be better at that love.
That kindness is often just eye contact, a thank you, and holding the moment two seconds longer. And that can make someone feel appreciated or loved or cared for or heard or seen in a time, which I know many of you recognize that you don't get that much anymore. There's so much hate and vitriol and negativity out there. I mean, one of the reasons we're, you know, we're starting to talk about HPX and launching it is because we, we really want to build a community of high performers worldwide. Like people who really care about their vibrant and connection and delivering things with excellence. Like you. Being not just good, not just average, but really being extraordinary is so much of what, you know, I wrote about my book High Forms Habits. It's what we believe and we are teaching people all the time because there is a different quality of life for you and it's better than you think and you expect. But sometimes you think you need to go achieve a thousand more things, when really what you need to do is look people in the eye, have a real conversation, smile, say thank you, smile.
Absolutely.
Yeah. It's just, it's just totally huge that you do that. So I hope that serves you. Did you want to do this thing right here?
Sure.
Yeah. Because what's next is on Thursday, that's tomorrow, on Valentine's, we'll go live, we'll announce all the, all the things you've been wondering about hpx. We'll tell you about that tomorrow. Make sure you join their newsletter list@hpxlife.com so you get our announcement about the new podcast that we will announce on Sunday and tonight, please remember the Wellness Masterclass expires because every time we do this, I've warned people for like three days. I send three or four emails about it, I post it in my stories or on my Facebook and we still inevitably get people the next day when it's closed, they're like, or the price doubles. They get so mad at me and I'm like, we literally did every, everything we could do to tell you. So tonight at midnight, Wellness Masterclass is gone. If you want it, go to my Instagram account, click on the link in my bio, and get yourself signed up for $99 and you have A class that can help you deal with stress, deal with overwhelm, feel more vibrant, take care of your health, know what to eat, know how to exercise, know how do you, like, manage your life so you have incredible energy for those you love and serve. So make sure you click the link in that bio on Instagram for me. Yeah.
And remember, you have a choice. You can be average, or you can choose to become extraordinary.
Every single day. You get that choice. Am I. Am I going to go through the motions and be average today? Or I'm going to be extraordinary. So we say to you, my friends, as we're going to sign off HBX today, go be extraordinary. And good night, y'. All. Thanks for joining us today. What's up, Facebook? What's up, Instagram? Happy Valentine's Day. It's Brandon and Denise, and this is hpx, the high performance experience, where we help you become more vibrant, connected, deeply excellent at whatever you do in your life. I'm fired up because it's Valentine's Day and after this live cast, I get to take my lady out for a little bit of wine. Oh, beach walk and then some wine, right? You all know I don't drink very much, so when I do, it's an exciting night. There's going to be people streaking the quad, running in the ocean, naked. No. Okay, well, probably dinner and a movie. But you know what? I have dreams, people. I have dreams.
Dramatic.
I hope you're doing wonderful. Thank you so much for being part of the HOX community. We are excited to talk about our secrets of having a positive relationship. Most of the times. Positive.
Yes.
You know, we've been together for 15 years. How long have we been married?
Ten and a half.
Ten and a half. We've been together, okay, 15 and a half years. Men, it's important to get those halves counted. You can't just say the year. Add in the half. So we're talking about some of the things we learned not only in, obviously, trying to make sure our relationship is awesome and building a life together, but also in building this new brand, hbx, together. What we're learning a little bit along the way, because relationships are never, like, isolated from your mission, your purpose, your life, your business, business, the kids, everything else. You always got something. And so we're gonna talk about all of this today. You got three things. I got three things. I think you should start, because at the end of the day, she's way better at our marriage than I am. So.
Okay, so we were talking about three. Our top Three things about what makes our relationship work or what we each individually.
Should. I take notes? I should learn. Okay.
Presence.
Yes. Interrupting is really way high on our. Okay, go ahead.
Yeah. Disrupt the train of thought. It's all good. So we each kind of wrote down. We're both first. We're both very independent people.
That's.
I. I didn't write that down as one of mine, but I think that is a big one. That we're both super, super independent people.
Yes.
And we value the other person's independence as well.
That's huge. One of my big attraction points to her. When we first met, like, first couple dates, it was like, oh, this is a strong, independent woman. She don't need me. She's got her own thing, own career, own life, own finances. She just had. It was like, I just. I think independence is sexy, especially in relationships, because you can get so intertwined with each other. When it's like, when you can honestly just be yourself and have your own life and be together too. That independent dependence thing, when you get that balance right, everything goes really well.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And so well, I made my three start with P, and this isn't with a P, but.
Oh, what is it?
But I remember when we first met, just on the independence thing. When we first met, I remember you were writing Life's Golden Ticket, and you said, oh, well, I'm gonna do about, you know, two hours of writing this afternoon. And I was like, what? What are you doing? And every time.
I was like, I'm writing a book.
Every time, like, we would do something on the weekend, and he's like, okay, I have to go write. I'm like, okay, well, you know, that's. That's your thing. Like, who am I to stop you or be in the way of something that makes you happy? I'm gonna go do my thing. That's fine. But we both supported kind of what we. Our own independence from the very beginning. So I think that's key too. But my first one is prioritization. And by that I mean that. And I think I've said this on other live casts that we've done too, is that it's not that you're more important or I'm more important. It's that we together, the marriage always comes first. So what. What decisions are best for the marriage? Not necessarily. And sometimes that's, you know, making one person happy or making sure that you're happy and secure and. But it's always what's best for the marriage. And if you. If we keep I feel like if we keep that in mind, then we can always have a cohesive goal together.
I love that. I love that. I'm just going to tell them a quick story because I have to. So last. If we look a little tired today, we are tired right now. Last night I was up till 2:36am Audio producing the new podcast, which we'll be announcing on Sunday. So if you're not on our newsletter list on HPX Life, make sure you get there. Just go to hpxlife.com sign up for the newsletter list. This, because on Sunday we're announcing what the podcast is, where it's at. We recorded it yesterday. And I just have to tell you something super cute because it's Valentine's. I was up all night. She'd gone to bed. I was doing all the audio for this thing and producing it and got this fancy song on it. Got the fancy thing. And today, maybe a couple hours ago, she heard it for the first time. She came in the room. I said, hey, listen to this, and played it for. And halfway through, our first podcast ever. We'd never done a podcast together. It's only a couple minutes long because it's the first one. And we got a couple minutes through and she started tearing up and got really emotional. And it was awesome because it was something that we're doing together.
Yeah. And there was this picture and then the music and then us talking. And last night he was kind of. He's like, you want to record this with me? And I was like, okay. And I literally sat on his lap and we're like crunched over this microphone and. And then to see it kind of put together today was really beautiful. And I know he spent a ton of time on it. And software changed.
Thanks, Apple. Changing. Updating GarageBand. Right now. I'm getting ready to do it. Oh, my gosh. You know, it's funny, though.
I appreciate that. It was.
It was. It was our first podcast together. It was really sweet to see her reaction to it because she literally, like halfway through, she just. I looked over and she's crying. And then I'm like crying and it's like. Because it's our first thing together, but, you know, it was funny. We recorded it at this little desk and I had gone out and I bought. What do you call them, like, poster frames at Walmart. And then I put. Wrapped around the poster frame, I think there were curtains or shower curtains. They're blackout shower. Oh, that's. They're blackout. Not shower curtains. Blackout shower curtains. A whole New category, Brandon, Just menu. It's blackout curtains for your house. I wrapped that poster frames around it and then I had a staple going on. Skip, skip, skip. I stapled it all the way around.
I was like, watch your fingers. Watch my fingers.
And I did three of them. And that became our podcast booth. I put one right in front of the, you know, the desktop, the one to the left, one to the right, and made this little podcast booth out of these things. It cost like, you know, probably 20 bucks to create a podcast booth last night. So anyway, pretty stoked about that because we're still obviously getting settled in Puerto Rico. But I also think that is something that's really important. I bring that up because one of my thoughts, like before I get into my little framework today, is that you have to have a partner who is willing to get resourceful with you and it doesn't have to be perfect and you jump in and you go for it and you're adaptable. She always talks about the ability of being adaptable. See what's needed, go at it. Yeah. Anticipate the challenges, but go in and just get it going. Like we did. Literally the podcast launches on Sunday. We just did it yesterday. And, you know, in a pretty janky little setup, I have to admit. If you want to see it, you can look at it on my Instagram stories. I showed it a little bit and it's just like, this is it, guys. It's not some fancy. Yeah, it was a pop up podcast booth. It was really, you know, kind of like, so, so, so anyway, I think it's pretty funny also. Pop up podcast booth. That's pretty funny. I never thought of that that way. So we're going to go into some things that make us work as a relationship. I'll share with you my. My first one because I have a framework and my framework, I call it list my framework since it's Valentine's Day. Just for you. Honey, is Cat C a T? C A T. Okay. Cat is my framework today. The first C is commitment. And this is a big one for us. Like she said, prioritizing the marriage. But also I think part of people. That sounds really, you know, for a lot of people it's like, oh, well, that sounds really nice and wonderful. My partner's not in it with her or something. Here's the thing. There's a level of commitment where, you know, my friend Tom Bilyeub on Impact Theory posted about this today. He and his wife, and he said she's. He said, this lady is ride or die. And I love that because that level of commitment where you are with your partner and you are with them no matter what. And I've learned this from her because in the hardest times in our entire marriage was when I had a brain injury in 2011. And I mean, I. I was not good. And I mean that in every area of life, I was hurt emotionally, mentally. I couldn't have vision and focus. Physically, I was really damaged. And all that brought a lot of emotions and anger. I lost the ability to, like, control anger. I was just, like, upset all the time. And I just. Just I was. And I was on the road all the time, and I was doing an international tour that year. It was. Everything was crazy, and she put up with it all. And I think that is the level of commitment that you need to have for your partner. That I learned from you. That I don't even think. I think it was after I got through the. You know, I had healed from my brain injury mostly, and it was able to look back at how not good I was as a husband and how good you were and patient you were through it. That made me appreciate you even more and realize that that commitment is this thing that just doesn't go away because you're hurt or you're tired or other things are going on. And it was a. It was a big thing. I think that's one of our.
Yeah, I was thinking about that today, too, and I remember thinking, you know, that kind of goes into my next one, which is patience. And patience is huge with yourself and your partner. And I remember that time, and I just telling myself, like, okay, that's not him. That's the brain injury. Because it was a really challenging time. But I think we also grew from that because we could understand that. That wasn't like I understood, like, that's not you. That's just something else happening that's flowing through you. And so I think that helped me get through it, too. But I think. So having patience with your partner and also having patience with yourself, like, if you're. There are so many times I am just not getting it right. Like, I feel like I'm like.
But I didn't let her know that.
I am totally failing right now. But just to have patience, that you will figure it out. I think you talk about that in, like, as hyper. Like, one of the traits of high performers is that you have confidence that you'll figure it out. And I think you have to have that with your marriage and your relationships as well, if not the most so you know, just figuring out, like, okay, patience that didn't work. Patience with myself, patience with you or whoever you're dealing with, and just continue on and just be patient and try to adjust and adapt.
Yeah. You know what? I like how those two things come together and what we're talking about with, like, commitment and patience. Because you know what? Patience is really hard if you don't have commitment. Like, if you are not ride or die, fully invested, totally committed to the relationship, you won't be patient. You'll be impatient all the time. Because that thing, that relationship is a throwaway. And when it's a throwaway, you take things for granted and you say stupid things. And so you have to think about those two things together. I think they're really important. Patience and commitment. Let's. You did prioritize. Can I do another one?
Yeah.
My cat framework. Guys, this is how you earn the points. I know she likes cat, so I'm teaching my friends framework cat today. Okay. Oh, God. Ask me about him. Ask me or some wine. So cat commitment. The A is appreciation. I appreciate this woman more than anyone else in my life. I tell her this every day. Honey, I love you. Honey, I appreciate you. Thank you for being with me. Thank you for building this life together. Our. Aren't we so blessed? Aren't we so lucky? And it's not just appreciating your other partner. It is appreciating the relationship. It is appreciating your blessings in life. It is you being a deeply grateful human being, but remembering to make it explicit every day. You have to say it, you have to show it, you have to tell it, you have to touch it. You got to do all this stuff, right? In order for them to know that they are appreciated. And the way that most people are appreciated is that you do something for them that they appreciate. And that's hard to remember, because what we try to do is. Well, my way of showing appreciation is, you know, hugs and kisses and smashes her. Like, I have to think, what does she appreciate in her life? And let me go do that. Yeah, let me. If she appreciates me saying this, doing this, cleaning up the house, let me do the things that she appreciates. Because when I do that thing, she sees it, she appreciates the fact that I'm doing it for appreciation. That got complicated. Did anyone understand what I said? Anybody? Hi, Emma. Hi, Dallas. Hi, Steven.
Yes. Love language is Dominique.
Yes. Hi, Chopini. Hi, Feta. Hi. What's up? I'm saying hi, Michelle. Hi, everybody. We appreciate you. That's why I want to give a shout out to you guys real fast because I didn't do that before. Make sure you tell us where you're from because we're all literally, we look at every single comment and delete many of the mean people.
And spreading love.
We have to do it. But we also love to hear where you guys are from because it helps us know, you know, where we do our events and helps us know what you guys are up to and where you are in the world. So make sure you hit down in the comments for us. Tell us where you're at. So mine were commitment and appreciation. Yeah. What's up, Mike? Hey, Judy, over on this is Instagram today. We switched the phones. I'm just completely lost. What's up, Portland? Who?
Dallas and Portland.
What's up, Dallas and Portland, Oregon. Man, we miss you. We don't know Dallas, but we love Portland, Oregon. So I'm giving you a shout out, man. Let's see. Cmorland is asking us to come to Houston. I haven't been there forever, but look at this. This is one reason I love this. We have Moragata from Algeria on here. We have Philadelphia up in the house. India is in the house. UK is in the house. Hungary. Clearwater. Sydney, Florida, Minnesota. Holy. Well, happy Valentine's, you guys. All around the world, I hope you're enjoying. Valentine's is an international love affair, right?
Sure.
All around the world, people are just making out tonight. Yeah. Commitment, appreciation. What's yours? Give me another one.
So my first one was prioritization of the marriage. Second one was patience. And third one I kind of think of as, like, push or persistence. And we both push each other. And one of the things or like the biggest thing that we were both looking for in a partner when we met and we both kind of verbalized was that that person made us want to be a better person. And that means that we constantly challenge each other, sometimes in the moment, and sometimes it's with support and sometimes it's with encouragement. But we're constantly kind of pushing each other to continue to be better, to grow, to evolve, to. Because those for us are the things that really ignite us inside individually, too. And so we want to keep firing that up for the other person as well as for us together. Like, what's next together. And I mean, hey, this year was a big one.
This is a big one. I love that because, you know, part of that pushing and part of that, it's just like if you know your partner's goals and dreams and you better know your partner's goals and dreams. You've got to cheer them on, whatever they are. Like, she did it first with me. Many of you guys know when I left my first job, I had a job. I went to college, got my first job, a safe, fun corporate job. But it wasn't in my heart to keep doing that. I quit the job so I could write the book that she talked about earlier. And then I promptly went broke. And I meant, I mean, I went bankrupt, broke. I mean, lost everything, had nothing, moved in with her, had a bunch of boxes of books. And that's all I had to my name into my life. This is, you know, y', all, you know, I'm on my seventh book now, and most of you guys have supported us and bought a book somewhere along the line. So thank you.
But this is somewhere along the line.
Along the line. It's Valentine's Day, but I would tell you it was super hard times. But she knew I wanted to do coaching. She knew I wanted to do online training. She knew I wanted to write books. And she cheered it on. And if I ever said, I need to stay up tonight till 1, 2, 3 in the morning, one thing I love, she's never, ever given me guilt for the time I work on my brand, my career, my mission. And I never gave it to her either. She was getting up at four in the morning because here's what happened. My books took off, then my courses and coaching took off, and all of a sudden we were good. And then it was her turn. It was like, well, what. What do you want to do? And she wanted to open exercise studios. And she did that in Portland, Oregon. Built them up to 30 employees, something like that. 30 employees sold the companies last year or year before. It was last year?
Yeah, a year and a half ago.
A year and a half ago, she sold the companies. And then, you know, right. That time, though, it was like, what do you want to do? She wanted to build those exercise studios, so I supported it. And I never complained when she had to get up at 4:00am, 6:00am oh, my gosh, it was a lot. It was eight years of that. She was working so hard. We were equally working so hard, but we always cheered each other on. And I think that is so critical if you don't know your partner's, your spouse's goals and dreams, know them. And once you do know it, cheer them on guilt free. Stop guilting your partners. That is one of the easiest ways to erode the relationship. You little like quips and Passive aggressive, guilty things where you're, like, stealing away from their joy or their experience of doing their own thing. Like, you have to be your partner's greatest cheerleader or someone else will, oh, snap.
And I think if you also think of it as not something that's being taken away from you, but if you really love somebody, then you want them to do what makes them happy and what is their calling or their passion, and so allow them to do that. And if you're not getting something, it may not be because of that, but just figure out another way to go about getting your needs met, too. So if it's setting boundaries or explicitly asking something. I think what we actually talked about this this morning when we went on our walk, which was fantastic, was that we. We're always trying to look for solutions that work for both of us. So if, you know, it's very often that we're both. We have such different styles and we are different, that it's like that your style works with my style or my style works with. With your style. But we're always trying to figure out, like, okay, this is how I work. This is how you work. Not working, like, work together, but how we might be. Do. Might do something. Then we kind of make observations and then figure out, okay, well, how can we kind of come to the middle part where it's going to work for both of us? Like, would this work if we did it this way and then this way? And we were actually talking about that.
This morning, so probably like 20, 25 minutes this morning. We're just talking about this thing of, like, how do. How do we make these things work? Because many of you, you're along with the ride with us. We're trying to figure out, how do we launch hpex, how do we launch this podcast? How do we launch HPEX Life, the website? You can go enter your name and email. And that's about the whole site right now because we're building it out. Hopefully it'll be up, you know, later on. But it's like, we're really kind of figuring a lot out if you guys were with us during Transformation Week or even during the Wellness Masterclass. Congratulations to everybody who signed up for, for the Wellness Masterclass. By midnight last night, 2000 plus of you are in our Wellness Masterclass that fast. So super pumped for you and I give you congratulations. We're really excited for you all. Thank you for that. I'm watching your time because you got to go. But also, I have to say one other thing and that Is my cat Framework, Commitment, appreciation.
CIA is smiling.
And the T is timing. You must learn the timing preferences of your partner. It's another thing we talked about this morning. It's like I have very like my timing, my rhythm in the way I do my morning and the way I have my evening. And the way that I work is way different than her preferences to timing and rhythm. And you need to find where that balance is that you can come together. Especially if you two or your partners work together. Omg, if you guys work together, you got to figure it out. You got to figure out what is, how does she like to work? When does he like to work? When do we bring up these topics? Like, for me, she knows don't bring up numbers, data and finances. I love numbers in the first hour of my day. It freaks me out, man. I'm a creative. Did you read the motivation manifesto? That's how weird my brain is.
Okay, give me an Excel sheet and I'm so happy she's off the races.
I can't do it. You know, I can't do it. So she knows that those things are things that we bring up later. And I think that's what really important is. So, okay, what questions do you all have? Hit the question mark a couple times and then ask your question. We'll try to take on a few. Also, while you guys are coming up with your questions for us, a couple simple announcements. Make sure you go to hpxlife.com Enter your name and email for our newsletter. And because listen, y', all, on Sunday we're going to send out an email newsletter that will announce what our new podcast is and where it is. We will also announce officially on Sunday the new supplement that we've been working on, that I worked on in development because I had a brain injury. So it's not meant to treat or cure any brain injury. Don't get me started on that stuff. It's just a nootropic to make you feel more focused and mentally energized throughout the day without like caffeine and crazy stuff in it. So it's really good for long term brain health. I did that because I went through it myself. We're not trying to build some big crazy supplement company or some big crazy.
MLM that is people say glowing and maybe that's one.
I think that's it for if you ever wondered where my energy came from, I have had this little secret and that's our supplement we'll tell you about on Sunday. But you got to be on the newsletter. So make sure you go to hpxlife.com and you will get in there. We'll tell you all about it. Sheen says I just like Denise. Oh, I'm just like Denise. I love spreadsheets. Thank you. Jaclyn who just signed up hpxlife.com go to hpxlife.com Jennifer Lynn Patty mentioned Dr. Amen. He is the one who originally treated me with my brain injury. A deep dear friend and I love his supplements too. So, so by no means by me developing one supplement does it take away from Ton of you guys got a lot of some of you guys are in multi level stuff, some of you are in direct selling, some of you take your own supplements. Some of you are super weird. You travel with the pharmacy in your bag. I know you so I recognize you. David is asking David Ortega on Facebook, how do you balance each other's arguments when you disagree on something, how do we do it?
Oh gosh, that's a hard one. You know somebody I think I'll go back to somebody asked a question in one of the transformation weeks that I think this would apply to and that was, you know, how do you balance your energy with each other? And you know, like I think I said I would try to balance not the opposite but just depending like if you were really, if you had a lot of emotion or something. Like my job is to try to remain grounded and calm during that because just adding to it is going to continue to escalate and ignite and if you're down or then I would try to kind of like uplift the energy or and to be compassionate. So I think in fights it's always in my head I'm always kind of going back to like what's really happening here, you know, what, what is your emotions? Where are these things coming from? What are my emotions? Where is this coming from and how can we work on it together. I think it kind of goes back to the marriage. Marriage coming first thing.
Yeah. I think that arguments are really hard and I think the number one thing is stop thinking you shouldn't have them. I think what happens is when you don't think you should have arguments or you don't think you should have conflict, then when you do have them, they become this big emotional thing that they're not supposed to happen. And there is no relationship that doesn't have at least listen, there's no relationship that is seeking to achieve great things, contribute great things and have a great lifestyle and actively have passion, joy, everything wrapped up into it. There's not going to be conflict. And so if you keep, you know, I think that's the number one thing. People are so surprised or upset about conflict. And like Denise said earlier, the ability to anticipate things. You should always, of course you're going to have arguments about things. So when you have an argument, try to start it off with, honey, I feel this way. This is what I observed. This is what I saw. And being open to. They had a completely different experience than you did. Like, once you understand everyone has a completely different experience, the conflicts get resolved faster. When your ego isn't stuck on a position, but rather your heart is open to the experience of your partner. Like that every time I fail in a conflict or fight, my heart was not open to the experience of my wife because I thought, I know what it is, I know people or I.
Think it's not like, it's not about being right, it's about being. It's about being what's right for the marriage. Like where, you know, where is the. Where's the middle ground? What can we do? And it's learn. Learning.
Yes, that's it. Let's see to the next one. Someone just said, I couldn't see. I couldn't see. I think she said, what was it? She says, oh, is the new website HPX different than Commune or Brendan's website? Yes, it is. So go to hpxlife.com it's actually very different. And that's the reason why. It's because we're doing it together. And if you guys want to the sneak peek to what I'll tell you about it. One of the things we've done is we have literally started creating the greatest library in personal and professional development that's ever been done, both in podcasting by creating this unbelievable content network for some of the best podcasters in the world who've given us some episodes uniquely. So it's not me interviewing them. It's like literally the greatest episodes ever in podcasting, in personal, professional development. And then we also got online courses from everybody. So many of you, if you've been with me for a long time, it's always kind of been the Brendon show, right? It's me, it's my research, it's my high performance coaching, it's my training, it's my life and experience. But I wanted to have a brand where I could curate other people's voices, where I could include my wife and her conversations because you can see she inspires the heck out of me. And she's like, One of the primary motivators of my life. And then I wanted to bring in other experts who have unbelievable online courses, too. So that's all gonna be part of it. Plus one of the. Our blog is gonna be ridiculously awesome. It's all launching very soon, but you won't even know about it unless you go to H. Why am I screaming so much that the waves are so loud behind me today?
You're just a loud person.
We gotta give them the tour today. That's the ocean back there. That's Puerto Rico, ladies and gentlemen. That's. Can you see what you doing? Oh, they're okay. So anyway, we're gonna walk on the beach over there and then have some wine, and we're gonna celebrate Valentine's. But we wanted to celebrate Valentine's with you all because we appreciate you and you guys are one of the most important relationships in our lives because it's been your support of my books, my training, our social media, and Denise, since she came on HVX Life with Transformation Week, it's been like we couldn't do without you. So we deeply appreciate you all. We hope that today, whether you're with somebody or you're not with somebody, that you find in your heart a love that says, you know what? Let me reach out to somebody today. You know, call that old friend, text that person you used to care for and you love. Maybe practice some forgiveness on Valentine's Day, if that's what you need to do. Let go of the drama on Valentine's Day, and please, please, please, please do something that is a loving act of kindness and generosity. It's Valentine's. Yes.
And I think we should answer one more question, because I keep seeing a similar variation of it is, you know what? If you want to work on personal development but your partner does not, oh.
I think you have to leave unbelievable, unrelenting hints all around the house. Like, text them a new podcast in personal development every day. Get them a new book in personal development every week. Set it on their thing. And listen, they might not take the hint. They might not like it, but you keep being the dealer of hope and personal development for them. And then, number two, role model away.
Yes.
When they see you happy and engaged and fulfilled, they're going to say, I want some of that. Yes. And if they can't get with the program, don't think that your entire support network has to be your partner. I tell people all the time instead of going, well, you know, my spouse is negative. I'm getting rid of them. Hey, you love them. You committed. Stay. Go over here and build the community that you need. Go hang out with the girls at lunch and talk about the things you're excited about in life. If he's not supportive of that conversation, I don't feel that you have to. To get everything. Like, she doesn't have to be everything to me about everything. It's like I have great friends, great men. She knows I love so many other people in my life, are great mentors, great, you know, counselors, conceiglieres. I don't know how to say it. You know, fancy people who help me think through hard problems. But, you know, that's what's up. So I think that will help. Is that good?
Yes.
Yes. Okay. Hey, y', all, we gotta end. We gotta go on this walk. We gotta get some wine. We got to celebrate. We're happy you're here. Listen, I want to give a shout out for joining. Let's give a shout out to everyone every day. Joining us on Valentine's. Lady, Suresh, Tanya, Carla, Randy. This is over on Facebook. Yeah. I appreciate you guys so much. Deanna. Hey, Mike. Yes. Happy Valentine's Day.
Happy Valentine's Day. Gosh, I'm screaming all day. We appreciate you guys. Hey, it's Brendon, and I hope you are having a restful, relaxing, amazing Sunday night. If that's when you happen to be watching this. I'm recording it Sunday night right here in Puerto Rico. It's just me tonight. Denise is downstairs and she's making some dinner for us and it's been a really, really long day as we have a little bit of a disappointment in that. I've been trying all day to get a note out to you guys and go live to announce the launch of our new HPX websites and podcasts and tools and it's just, it's not going to happen tonight. So I apologize for that. We were pushing all the way through all weekend trying to get it done. I mean I've just been tireless about it. Didn't make it happen. But I'll update you on that in a minute. Hey guys, what's up? Hi. On Instagram, hello On Facebook. Tonight I'm going to talk about some funny human behavior in the sense of how we tend to over complicate things. Now on this last Friday I went live to all of our students and I tried so friggin hard to do this new camera setup where I was broadcasting live through a dslr. So this is not a sponsored video or anything, but I'm using this new GH5, it's a Panasonic GH5 and I was going to broadcast to all my students through this live, right? Because it's got this for the geeks and the nerds, you're going to know exactly what I'm talking about. It's got a built in HDMI port which is super sweet. So you can plug this. I can plug this directly into my camera and then broadcast it through like ECAMM or ustream directly to my students on an embedded webpage. Totally overly detailed that you don't need to know. But I am one of those guys throughout my entire career. I don't know how about you guys, but I really believe that if you're going to enter an industry, your job is to figure out how to master the craft of that industry. Like every moving piece, how do you figure it out? How do you become proficient at it so you can build up that skill level so you can really serve And I know, I see. Hi Rosie. She's like over on Facebook, she's like, where is Denise? Denise is down. If you're just joining us, Denise is not here right now. She's actually making us dinner because we've had a really, really long weekend trying to figure out some things and that's the story I'm in the middle of. So on Friday I tried to broadcast live through this goofy thing and it Just did not work. The good news is I had my laptop there. And so you have to understand, you know, I've got as many of you guys are on it, it's like we got thousands of paying students for our live coaching and mentoring program. And I go live every month for a couple hours and teach and train. And so I was hoping to use this so it looks really good and broadcast quality because that's what my audience is used to. Instead, that did not happen, so I used my laptop. But here's the funny thing is sometimes we just overcomplicate things and we forget what it's really about, you know, and a lot of my students reminded me this. They're like, brendan, it looks fine, it's fine. They're not coming for how broadcast quality my stuff is, though. That's what my brand is built upon. They were coming in, they just want the training, give me the strategies, give me the tools, give me the ideas that will improve my life. Go. And that's what the expectation was. And we did it. And luckily it turned out really great. A long day of training that was. I trained all day Friday online, literally all day. I'm talking about. I was live two, three, four, five or six hours. Is that right? Yeah, five or six hours live training our students on Friday, then on Saturday, which is yesterday, I was working on the new HPX website and that was everything. If you were with me last week or with Denise and I, over the last week, we've been kind of teasing and telling you about how excited we are to launch this new website and all these new tools and a new podcast together. And we were supposed to launch it today. It's Sunday, February 17th, and we worked. I mean, I'm not going to describe how hard it's been the last two weeks. And I apologize we didn't get to do it. We just. I mean, it was like straight through the weekend, 24, 7. I'm still a person. I'm still coding my webpages. I'm still uploading the podcast to itunes and Google and Spotify. I'm still doing a lot of the first moves in my business. Even though we have an awesome team, super capable and amazing people, I tend to do it first, do the thing first. Then once I have it looking like I like to look at or operating like I do, I kind of hand off, but I'm still doing that. So after all these years, you know what, 10, 12 years of doing this, I'm still the one who's coding and building things. I Know, it's dorky, but I just feel like if you are in an industry and there's something that is. You're going to be required to do for a really long time in that industry, I'm like, figure that out. So for me, it's like, I got to figure out video, I got to figure out live, I got to figure out web pages, I have to figure out podcasts, I have to figure out webinars, I have to figure out, you know, broadcast stuff. I have to figure out how to, you know, do E commerce and do all these things. And I've taught myself how to do all that over the years, and I think that's what helped me meet many of you guys. So what's up, Instagram? How you doing, Facebook? I see you guys. Happy Sunday night. I hope you had a great weekend. Two things I did that worked really, really well this weekend. I thought I'd share with you some wins. One was just a commentary I did on my Instagram about how important it is not to give up just because somebody's being negative to you or just because somebody doesn't support you or somebody doesn't cheer you on, or somebody doesn't get behind you because, listen, their understanding or approval or permission is not required for your progress. And that is, like, the most profound thing I ever got in my life. Very early on, like, When I was 19, 20 years old, I was like, my peers don't understand. I want to write a book at 19 years old. My professors think I'm an idiot. You know, no one believes that I can do what I want to do outside of my maybe close circle of friends who thought, maybe he's just crazy enough to do this stuff, then that didn't slow me down. And I think the difference between successful people and unsuccessful people often comes down to when, because they both might have exactly the same dream, they might have the same direction, the same capabilities, even the same confidence level at some levels. But what happens is when we start moving towards the things that we want, some people, they can't handle it when other people around them don't support them, or when other people around them don't help them, or other people around them don't cheer them on, and so they stop. But those who become the most successful, other people's understanding or cheering on or even involvement is not required for progress. And I think that's the most important thing. Some of you are waiting for somebody to cheer you on before you do something, or somebody to give you permission, or somebody to give you the map or somebody to give you. Exactly. I'm like, go, go. You do not. You're only gonna learn in movement. You're only gonna catch up or acquire skill in action. And the sooner you get at something, the sooner you become proficient at it, the sooner you get real progress, and the sooner you get believers. I tell people all the time, don't expect believers at the beginning of the journey. Believers start coming on board after they see real momentum and progress. But even then, you can have the biggest momentum, the greatest successes, and you're still gonna get the haters right here. I mean, I've been doing this a long time. I mean, we did some of the very first positive quotes, literally the most first video quotes for personal development on Facebook. And now we have 5 million fans. And we still get people who are rude, who are hateful. And you've seen them here when we do these live things, too. Not everybody's going to be supportive. Not everybody's going to get you. Even when you've been doing it and you've proven yourself, they will still judge, they will still doubt, they will still make fun of you. Your challenge is that sometimes you hope that that will go away someday. And I'm here to tell you it does not go away. That their judgments, the trolls, the haters, the mean people, the people in your circle who will doubt you speak disparagingly. Disparaging. Is that a word? Speak rudely of you. They will always exist. Even when you've made it, even when you've proven for two decades that you give and you give and you give and you serve and you serve and serve, you will still get them. And I share that with you. Not in a. In a, you know, like a downer way, but like a, hey, anticipate that. That's just real. And because that is real, you keep going, right? Once you realize that that's part of the journey, the doubters, you know, disbelievers, the rude people, the haters, once you know, that is exactly always part of every person's journey. Now you can anticipate it, and when it comes up, you honor it as part of the process. You go, oh, this is supposed to be happening. Oh, of course people are doubting me and hating on me. That's how it happens for everybody. And then you don't take it so personally, and you don't stop. Think of all the things in the past that you stopped because somebody doubted you, judged you, negated you, told you stop. And you wish you'd gone. You Wish you'd learned you wish you'd come along. I'm just here to say, hey, it's 2019, my friends. Figure out what you really want of life and go for it. Go for it. I can tell you, you know, Denise and I moving to, you know, moving to Puerto Rico to start this new brand HPX Life. And just for the record, I know I said we don't have anything up and it's true, but you can still go get our newsletter@hpxlife.com and if you'll go there and enter your name and email@hpxlife.com as soon as everything's up, I'm hoping it's literally up tomorrow. I'll email you and give you the inside scoop and behind the scenes story and everything else like that. I'm hoping it's up Monday or Tuesday. I am definitely not going to promise a date right now because obviously I feel like I failed you guys. I failed all the people I've told that we're going to do it and it was going to go today. But I also don't think failure is a bad thing. You know, I think when you say you're going to do something and you don't do it, that's a fail. But failure doesn't mean I'm a failure or I take it as an identity. It just means didn't make that deadline, failed to meet that word that I gave. Because I think giving your word is important. And if you don't make your word, that's a fail on your word. And I think too many people today, they're like, there is no failure. I'm like, no, there's failure. If you said you were going to do something or you tried to do something and it didn't do what you went for, that's a failure. The idea though is not to make failure this catastrophic thing. It's just like, oh, missed that deadline, fail, you know, oh, didn't do what I said, fail. But not like I'm a failure. Like, oh, fail. What do I need to do next time to make sure a better process is in place? Or I set a more reasonable objective or I set a better, better timeline. It's just a way. It's like some people like to call a failure a lesson point. Whatever you call it, I'm okay with calling it failure because it makes me go for me, it sets such a high standard. Embargo. Okay, Brendan, Brendan, get your act together, brother. Hit that date next time. And the truth is, many of you guys have Known. And I appreciate all of you because you guys are so awesome. It's been a journey, man, these last 60 days, you know, I was on the road. I only finished my tour last fall in late November. Then in December, it was the holidays, packing up, getting ready for the move to Puerto Rico. Then we came down here and we were on. We were in puerto Rico for 48 hours or 72 hours before Denise and I went live and started Transformation Week. We launched Transformation Week while we moved homes twice. And I mean literally twice we got here, didn't like where we were at, move to another place, so did that twice. Then had to find everything, right? Where do you buy, we can make. Where do we buy the kale? You know, where do we get the gear? Where do we get the lights? Where do we get everything? And that was a huge journey. And then soon we finished Transformation Week. Boom. It was time to go into wellness Mastery. Went into that launch, that was another 10 day launch. We did two back to back 10 day launches. So 20 days of launches, 20 days of lives, 20 days of content, trying to figure out the new gear, waiting for this stuff to show up and then it finally did and then I couldn't figure out how to work it and then the wi fi didn't work. And this all the while running, you know, four plus brands or investing and being a significant operator in four plus brands with 200 plus employees, I mean it was a lot. And in the context of that, trying to launch HPX Life. So let me tell you because I promised to release it today, it's not out, but I thought I'd tell you what's coming because we haven't really done a deep dive in that. And while I can't show it to you, I can tell you what's coming, at least meet that obligation. And we're doing our best here. So I appreciate you all. I see you guys on Instagram cheering us on. It's so awesome to have you guys here along with us. Thank you. On Facebook, you guys are always here. And Facebook, you guys are the ones who originally made my career and supporting of my writing. People today think quotes and they call quotes or memes. But I used to, and I still to this day tend to create four different quotes per day. Video quotes or spoken word quotes or I write every single day and that becomes the things that I post online. And now today, you know, everyone recycles stuff. But you know, back then it was, that was just all I did. I worked for you guys every day making a quote it's the first thing I did in the mornings. I'd get up, I'd move, I'd stretch, I'd sit down, I'd read something great, I'd write my quotes, quotes for my audience and build whatever that social media was, get that out and then go about the day of working. And it was bananas. But you guys have supported me along the way and you've supported me through six books, 24 online courses, you know, literally millions and millions of online students. And you guys have been there like a rock for me and Denise. And so while she's not here today, I just wanted to give our Sunday gratitude to you for that process because it's what led us into this next iteration of what we're doing together, which is HPX Life. So there's a website you can go to, hpxlife.com there's not much there other than entering the newsletter. It even says, you know, make the big announcement today. And I just didn't get there. So I apologize. But it'll happen in the next, hopefully, you know, one, two, three days. And what it's going to be is a couple things. One, it's going to be a brand new podcast. And so if you're not yet subscribed to my podcast, it's called the Brendon Show. It's me, Brendon, the Brendon Show. If you're not subscribed to the Brendon show, my podcast, make sure you subscribe. Plus, we just dropped two epic episodes in the last week. I hope you'll listen to it. The Brendon show podcast. So make sure you subscribe to that one because I'll announce on the Brendon show when the new podcast is available. I'll tell you all about it as soon as it's available. But here's what's cool about it. One, it's gonna be me and Denise every single week talking about our journey to build this new brand HPX and everything we're doing with it. All of the struggles, the challenges, including those that we have in working together for the first time as a married couple trying to build a brand. Because previously, many of you guys know, she built her business as an exercise studio. And I've been doing online courses and books and coaching and training for the last 10 years. So we kind of had separate entrepreneurial sort of journeys. Now we're doing it together and it's super crazy hard way hard just because it's just like it's, it almost doubles the time at first because you have to share so much, right? So we're building HPX together. HPX stands for High Performance Experience. Because our philosophy is everyone wants to live the high performance experience. We all want to know we are living our best every single day and giving our best. And that's what we call high performance experience. It's like when you know you're at your absolute a game best on a consistent basis, that's high performance, right? So we call HPX because it's just a cool name, HPX. So hpxlife.com will be the website, HPX will be the brand. We're building that together. So the first shot across the bow will be the podcast. It'll be Denise and I every week. On top of that, we are also. This is really cool, guys. We're also a curated podcast where some of the biggest names in personal development and business podcasts have given us their best of episodes. You know, these guys and gals have done interviews with some of the biggest names. They've given us those best episodes to kind of reintroduce and re air on the HPEX podcast. So that instead of you having to be subscribed to a hundred different podcasts, literally at hpx, we're going to be like your gateway to personal development and professional development all in one spot. We're really excited about that because one of my passions is introducing you to some new voices in the personal and professional development areas that you might not know. People who are doing extraordinary work and great interviews and great content, but maybe you didn't hear about it. I curate that stuff because I do it for me, but I do it for my students, students as well. I thought, let's do it for our free students on our new podcast, hpx. So that'll be coming very, very soon in the next 72 hours, hopefully. So it's me and Denise every week. It's also a curated one from some of the best people in the industry. Plus, I'll do a solo round, just me talking about my personal struggles for reaching high performance in my own life. As many guys have known, that's been really hard, especially hard since 2011. I had my brain injury in 2011 and it just, man, as soon as I feel like I got that thing under control, it's just like, you know, I have my good days, my bad days, and for me it's just like the ability to focus or the ability to stay in a positive mood or the ability, you know, not to like overreact to things that never was much of an issue in my life until the injury. So now I still struggle with that. And what I do is I take a supplement for that and the supplement will be called HPX2. And that's going to be coming out, the HPX supplement, hopefully this week. So again, you'll be the first one to know and that will sell out immediately. So make sure you go to hpxlife.com and enter your name and email because when that comes out, I'm going to send it to my newsletter list and it's going to be gone probably for at least 12 weeks. I mean, we'll literally sell it out and it'll be gone for 12 weeks. And that's just a supplement. It's called a nootropic. And nootropics are things that you take for your brain health that help with also your mental focus, energy and mood. So that's what it helps you do. It's not meant to treat or cure brain injuries. It's just what I had. And even as I've healed, I wanted a great quality product that I could take to just be on my A game normally. And that's been really, really important to me. And for those of you who have, you know, you dealt with just focus problems, memory problems, energy like mental energy or mental mood problems, this is going to be really, really, really powerful. You especially for those who get easily stressed, overwhelmed or distracted, I think you'll find this to be probably the best formulated product in the world. It took me three years for formulation to get it right and I'm pumped about it. And by the way, I don't think I'm the only, you know, game in townless. I know some of you guys are in MLMs, direct marketing, some of you guys are nutritionists, some of you guys are in the health space and I'm just one other guy adding his, you know, his work to it. But man, did we do a lot of work in the research and formulations of this one. It's super epic. So what are we talking about? Podcast supplement. We will have a new blog rolling out. And some of you guys know I do a massive amount of research. I really think what differentiates me from most of my peers, most of my peers in my personal development industry anyway, are offering advice from their personal journey, right? But it's only from their personal journey and not discounting their personal journey because they've done a lot, they've been a lot, they've seen a lot of things. But I always think personal journey is like this much of the equation because people pay for and people want perspective. And if you're learning from somebody, I want to know that person did their research. I want to know they've read books on this topic. I want to know they've talked to the experts. I want to know if they've done some synthesis and analysis in this area. That's how I know if they're like, I like to hear their stories and what they've learned personally, that's powerful. But someone who's added to that by doing original research or knowing academics or understanding the academic literature, those people really excite me because it says they're going outside their own personal journey to do their real research. That's what we're doing with the HPX blog because many of you guys know we've teamed up with some of the best academic researchers in the world in positive psychology and high performance studies. Literally the cream top of the top of the top. And so they've been contributing blogs to us for over a year now and we really haven't published that out to our newsletters. So we've been getting it all up and we're excited to finally release some of that research. Hopefully some of you guys will enjoy that. I'm going to admit it's a little geeky and it's really for the people who are a little bit nerdy and who kind of are like, you've got your memes and your entertainment elsewhere now you're looking for real empowerment. You're really looking for the distinction that really matter or you're looking for the highest end product. You know, those are the kind of what Denise and I are trying to do because people are asking, you know what, you know, who's the audience for this thing? And I think it's to me, it's kind of, here's how I decide divine. I guess this is how I define the HPX audience and I don't have the exact words for this yet but. But I would say it's healthy, smart, driven leaders. That's really who I think is going to be attracted to it. People are interested in health and well being and if they're not, they're not going to really vibe with a lot of stuff. People who are interested in a more intelligent approach to personal development. They're not just looking for memes and cute things. They're looking for real in depth conversation. I think it's going to attract people who are driven, clearly motivated to make a difference and leaders, people who have that thing where they want to serve a lot of people, make a difference in the world, serve a mission that requires them to manage, communicate, cheer on, empower other people. I think that's who's gonna like HPX Life. We'll see. I could be completely wrong because clearly I've attracted some strange rangers in the past career. So I don't know. But I think that's what we're going after and I hope it really serves you all. So that's basically what HPX is going to be. But the cool thing is all of that, hey, soulful, thank you for that. Appreciate you being in that audience too, right? It was healthy, smart, driven leaders. Healthy, smart, driven leaders. I'm going to make myself, I'm going to learn how to say that a lot. Healthy, smart, driven leaders. That's who we want the audience to be or the audience that we want to provide the content to so they can grow into that, including myself. I'm always trying to get healthier. I'm always trying to become smarter and learn more things. I'm always trying to stay driven and motivated. I'm always trying to lead my mission and my purpose with real integrity and excellence. And I don't always succeed at that. I don't think anybody does. And that's why you, the personal development journey never ends, right? Like, self mastery is not something you ever master. You know, it's like it's this ongoing journey. So hpxlife.com is up right now. You can enter your name and email in it and then we'll send you the announcement when the whole thing is up, which I'm hoping is going to be within the next 72 hours. Honestly, it could be tomorrow morning. I don't know. We're kind of waiting for the podcast to be released. And we're also. What's cool about the podcast is we're going to tell you the journey. I don't know how many of you guys are trying to build a brand right now or trying to get your message out there or trying to make your impact out there. It's super hard, right? So if you ever saw me on my first journey the last 10 years, everyone just saw the kid with the fancy studio and the fancy cameras. And I didn't really share the behind the scenes. I just did it. I delivered the content. You guys asked me a question. I delivered the content from a research perspective, from a coaching perspective, from a training perspective, but I didn't share like, okay, I'm trying to build my website over here, unless you were in my Experts Academy community. But most people didn't even know me for that because I didn't teach marketing or brand building except for a very small funnel of my audience. All of my Facebook was 100% personal development. All of my Instagram has been 100% personal development. The brand building thing, you kind of had to select something in my funnel to go down that. But now we're going to share that more openly and honestly about the journey because it's just so public. Like right now it's, you know, moving down to Puerto Rico and doing all this work. People are like, oh, man, Brendan's starting some scratch here. Oh, you know, he's a hot mess. This is fun to watch, so I hope you've enjoyed that. Hey, if you guys have some questions along that journey or what we've been doing, type in the question mark several times in your browser, I'm sorry, right now in your comments and I'll take a few questions from you guys since you're here first. I'm going to go give a quick shout and round out to all you guys. So over on. What are we on over on Facebook? Tammy, Catherine, Rose, Jenny, I appreciate you being here. Hi, Jennifer. Hey, Christine, Wioletta, what's up? Nice seeing you here. Hey, David, Ryan, Megan, Linda, thank you for being here. I see you. Yes, I do. Daniel. Hi. See you too. Tammy Marie, I appreciate you guys being here. Bonnie, what's up? Thanks for being in here and over on Instagram. I see you guys too. I really appreciate you. Soulful, something living. Vanna. How come on Instagram you guys don't use your real names? It's so funny to me. It's harder to give shout outs on Instagram because they're just a bunch of like something underscore, hashtag something applesauce, you know, clean rights. Hi. Oh my God. Mrs. Ashley Mobley uses her real name. That's super nice to see. I love that. That makes my whole day. I appreciate you guys too for being here and I appreciate all the, the cheering on you've done for me and Denise as we have been like going crazy these last couple weeks to get up. Rachel. The sign up is hpx life.com. that's HPX as in high performance experience. Hpx life.com go to hpxlife.com, you can sign up for free. It's just a newsletter and I'm going to send you guys the update when it comes out. Linda Schwartz asked, do I know about Alzheimer's? Unfortunately, Linda, I know a lot about Alzheimer's. My grandfather had Alzheimer's and. Suffered Alzheimer's for many, many years before he was lost to complications. And I've spent a tremendous amount of time with people at the end of their life who had Alzheimer's. I've also, in my own life, I've had serious amnesia and traumatic brain injury twice. While it wasn't Alzheimer's, I know that personal effect of losing memory and it's very different. I know. But I've been with a lot of people who did have Alzheimer's. I've had it in my family. There's a tremendous amount of research into it. It's something that I'm deeply passionate about, hopefully one day supporting some more research into that area. No one knows what Alzheimer's about yet. People claim to, or people claim take this pill, it will help you. I don't claim that my supplement will in any way cure, treat, diagnose or deal with Alzheimer's. That's a whole different ball of wax. And that requires real, real insight and medical supervision to deal with that. Honestly. Rosie, when are you coming to Dallas? Let's see. I will be in Dallas this summer, but we haven't announced what it is yet. I'm not allowed to say yes. I'm not allowed to say yes. I know many of you guys, too, and I saw that on Instagram. Some of you guys have dealt with Alzheimer's in your families, and I certainly understand that. You know what I would recommend all of you do if you have not done it yet, if you still have older parents or older loved ones who do have their cognition and do have a good mind at their age now, I would really encourage you to interview them and to record the interview. If you've never heard me talk about this. It's one of the most powerful things I ever did. While my father was passing away from leukemia, I called him up and this is before I went to spend with him. I spent the last weeks with him. But I called him up and I interviewed him and I asked him 30 questions about life over the phone and I recorded it. And that's one of the most precious things in my life. It's an audio, probably a two hour interview, maybe an hour and a half. Two hours of asking him about life. You know, what did he learn in high school? What did he learn from his parents? What did he want to share to each of us kids? What did he learn about his time, you know, in his 20s and 30s and 40s, you know, what did he learn about work? You know, all these things. And if you've Never done that before. It is incredibly powerful. Just incredibly powerful. I would encourage you to just Google my name and then life interview questions. So just type in Brendon Burchard life interview questions. And I have a free PDF, it's on the Internet somewhere, and it gives you the 30 questions I asked my dad. And now literally thousands of people in our community have interviewed their parents, their loved ones, their grandmas, grandpas, caregivers, and learned a lot about them. And if you record that conversation when they're gone, you still have it. So, like on my father's anniversary or his birthday each year, I listen to. To that audio and it keeps his heart, you know, close because I can hear him still. Because I grew up at a time in the family that we didn't have a lot of. We didn't have a lot of, like, we didn't have, you know, cameras around my house and video cameras around my house. So I don't really have much video at all of my dad, but I have that audio and it's really precious to me. And so for those of you who are dealing with family members who have dementia or you worry will or any form of mental decline or cognitive decline, I highly encourage you to do that interview. It will be really powerful. I know it's not an easy thing to talk about tonight because some of you have had that, and it's real and it's difficult, but I'll tell you, it's one of the best things I ever did. So just type in Brendon Burchard, that's me, and then life interview questions. And it should take you to a blog post where you can literally get those questions and download it and use it, and thousands of you guys have done it in the past, and it's epically powerful. Really, really, really powerful. But I just wanted to hop on Sunday night and not be a downer, but I wanted to hop on Sunday night and let you know I'm aware I didn't send the email out to those who subscribed to hpxlife.com My apologies. It's just the website and all the podcasts and supplement stuff is not up. It's all ready. The good news is, did all the work got it ready, did the research, got all collected. It's just about hitting go, and we're waiting to hit go. So it's all up at the exact same time in multiple different places, including multiple different podcast platforms, Amazon, blah, blah, blah. But, man, it's been a work effort and I'm excited that you'll get to see it this week and I hope that you'll like it because it has been the struggle of struggles and the challenge of challenge, but also the joy of joys. And Denise and I are still working at it super hard for you literally every single day. Like it has been insane, incessant, probably the hardest, I would say six month work effort of definitely of my career. But we've really enjoyed it. I appreciate you guys cheering us on and mostly I appreciate you guys joining us on these lives. I hope you'll share them with some people, you know, because sometimes it's just these little things I share like, hey, you know, interview your loved ones, here's an interview guide I'd have or hey, try doing this or do that or maybe here's a new way to look at things or don't, you know, worry about other people. If you know somebody who could use these lives, you know, tag them, tell them about what we're doing here. Because I'm trying to go live almost every day for you all to share the journey, to share a little about what we're learning, share you some of the research, just whatever I can do to help you guys live your high forms experience. Because I figure if we can help you live a high forms experience where you are, you know, more vibrant, more connected to others and to yourself, more excellence driven in everything that you do well, then you'll make a greater difference and together we can really change the world. I think HPX is going to become a movement of people who really care about those things at another level. I know that's probably why you've tuned in. So I appreciate each and every one of you. It's Sunday, so to me, I want you to let you know you're always in my prayers. I'm deeply, deeply thankful for all of your support. If Denise was here, she'd say the same thing. But she's making some dinner, so I hope I'm gonna go down and get some. So we love you guys. Thank you for being here. I hope to see you tomorrow. We appreciate you. It's Sunday night. Rest up well. Get ready for a big huge week this week. And if you've never heard my prayer for Mondays, it's very simple. It's grant me the strength to focus this week to, you know, to be a person who delivers with excellence, to be a person who, who really cares to be a person. I just talk about, you know, how much I want to give and ultimately to be somebody who serves with love, you know, and so it's part of my prayer is just to be a good person, to show up for you guys, to do my best work to bring it. Sandra's asking, what's for dinner? I honestly have no idea. I promise. It's amazing. Denise is a great cook, so I think it's gonna be great. So, Denise, on behalf of me and Denise, happy Sunday night, y'. All. We appreciate you. We love you and we'll see you tomorrow. Hey, my friends, I hope you enjoyed this week's roundup of my Instagram and Facebook live sessions.
