In this episode of the Brendon Show, Brendon Burchard argues that every aspect of life—relationships, work, energy, and focus—stems from brain health and calls for a dedicated brain‑health plan. He critiques modern psychiatry for treating symptoms with medication without ever imaging or directly examining the brain, contrasting it with other medical fields that always look at the affected organ. Burchard credits Dr. Daniel Amen for saving his life and recommends Amen’s book Change Your Brain, Change Your Life as a guide to a structured brain‑health program. He discusses lifestyle factors that damage the brain—excess alcohol, drugs, burnout, poor sleep—and stresses that protecting the brain improves performance and relationships. Drawing from his own recovery, Burchard created a line of daily supplements aimed at mental focus and brain optimization, which he promotes as a “secret weapon” for high performers. The episode concludes with a strong community call‑to‑action: listeners are urged to share the episode, use the #growthday hashtag, rate the podcast, and engage with the Growth Day community for ongoing personal growth.

Your experience of life comes from your brain. How you treat other people from your brain, the work you do, your mental focus, your energy is all brain health. You have to have a brain health plan for you. We focus so much on diet in our country. Losing weight versus optimizing mind. And that is why we have a sick culture. We're focused on the thing. Dr. Daniel Amen, who really saved my life. We talk about the top performers in athletics to, you know, stage performers, to Justin Bieber's new documentary, Amen's in There. He always says the great thing. He says in the medical field, psychiatry and psychology is the only field, the only field that still in the modern era treats a thing without looking at it. So what do we do? Oh, we diagnose symptoms versus looking at the thing. Right. If you break your arm, what do they do? They X ray your arm. What's going on with the arm? Oh, this is where it's broken. This was happening. This is how severe it is. Let's repair it this way. If you're sad, if you struggle with focus, if you feel like you're too hyper, if your emotions are all over, they open up a bunch of pills, prescriptions, and send you to go get a bunch of pills without ever looking at your brain. It's the only industry, the only industry that is still prescribing and diagnosing without looking at the organ itself. No other field does that. If you have heart problems, they look at your heart, but not in the brain. I think we often talk about mental health without realizing mental health is based in the brain. And if you're not taking care of the brain, maybe it's not a concussion for you. Maybe you're drinking too much alcohol and you're hurting your brain. Maybe it's drug use, maybe it's addiction, maybe. Maybe it is burnout and fatigue and lack of sleep. But every time you hurt your brain, you hurt performance. Every time you hurt your brain, you hurt performance, you hurt your relationships. You have to break the cycle. You have to break the cycle. If you haven't talked to a doctor about what should I be doing for my brain health, ask that to your doctor next time. Eamonn has a great book called Change youe Brain, Change youe Life. I highly recommend you all read it. Change your brain, change your life. He put me on a program that was really powerful and changed my life. And I eventually, for myself, developed my own set of supplements for my life and the high performers in my life. You guys, I'm sure you've seen it or store. They have it here at the store, apparently. You're welcome to check out what those are. Those aren't for medical conditions. Those are just like daily vitamins and daily supplements specifically focused on for mental focus and brain health. And those just. They optimize me. They're a secret weapon. I didn't know about that before my injury. I healed myself. It took two years of hard work every day to do healthy things for myself. And I'm glad I put those in because how many of you ever put hard work in for your health? And it paid off in extraordinary ways. So turn the person left, right, shake them, say, get healthy. Get healthy.
