A shopper found David Ogilvy's Confessions of an Advertising Man at Goodwill for 99 cents. The video walks through hunting for vintage books at thrift stores and encourages viewers to do the same.
A lot of people don't know this, but the best place to get books is actually at Goodwill. I know that sounds crazy, but what's the number one thing that most people get rid of? Well, obviously they're clothes, but they also get rid of a lot of books. And this is a book that I found in a Goodwill a long time ago that's clearly bent out of shape and needs some good hard lovin'. But this was a book that has impacted me more than most of my books on my bookshelf, because it was written by David Ogilvy. And this is a vintage copy of his Confessions of an Advertising Man. And I found this at a Goodwill, and guess how much it cost me? 99 cents. And inside of it are the vintage pages. And it means a lot more to me because I know it's from a time that you can't really order it nowadays from. And so if you want to find vintage books, books that you can't get anywhere else, or books that you can get on a cheap discount but are still worth reading, go to Goodwill and do a book scavenger hunt. I guarantee you you'll find a lot of classic books that you might not have otherwise found on the Internet.
