Brian Moncada shares a lesson from David Ogilvy about why you need to actually use the products you sell. Ogilvy believed this was how you attract serious clients and build credibility in business.
It was doing 55 million a year in revenue with 19 clients. And there's a part in the book where he talks about when it says there's a part that says how to get clients, right? He was saying one of the biggest things to get clients is, like, you have to actually believe and use what they're selling. And so he had. He had a whole paragraph in there where he said, everything that I sell for my clients, I use. I fill up my Rolls Royce, which is another client of his. Rolls Royce. Fill up my Rolls Royce with shell. I read newspapers that are printed with this specific paper because they're a client of mine. And I was just like, this is inspiring me, because I'm like, bro, again, I just think we're thinking too small, man. Like, what's stopping us from getting UFC as a client? What's stopping us from getting Polo Ran as a client? What's stopping us from getting Rolex as a client? Right, Rolex. Like. Like, why not? Like, these are the things that we use and we would love to have and. And eventually think our, you know, our premium quality. So, like, we should sell products that we actually use, believe in, and. And. And think the. The world should have, too. So.
